"Indeed, they are not as grand as I had predidicted." His hair feel against her cheek, she played at the ends with her fingertips. "I am thinking how time grows short for me, and it can only grow longer for you. I am thinking that if I were the Earth Mother, I might have chosen death a long time ago."

Not sometihng that she easily udnerstood, but the great thing about kids was their simple way of explaining things. "Are you faster than my bracers?" She thought perhaps Taratheil was starting to grow and accept change a bit easier, before hand she might have had to chase down Taratheil and stop him from simply following Cedric.

"He's training you, well. How are your letters and your music lessons comming with Meilikki?"
PostPosted: Mon Jan 15, 2007 10:21 pm

"Lucky you, If I chose death, I tell you, it would not have been a pleasent afterlife for me... you know, the whole thing about me being morally irrehensible, and a servant of Lloth. One way ticket to hell I tell you." He let Meilikki play with his hair, to be honest, he couldn't even feel it.

"Short bursts, I can get from point A to point B in one movement instead of fifteen or so. Its good for quick attacks, dodging and evading." He chuckled. "I couldn't keep up with you or Cedric-Sensei." He paused, "Music has been at a standstill since the third lesson." Natural musician. "Letters are pretty much the same as they have always been." Natural caligrapher. He was becoming quickly only a history student, simply because he picked up on most tasks easily. It was like he'd already learned most of these things, but his mind was completely blank to them. A spiritual training, probably from his communing before birth, when most elven children are tought the basics of liturature, music, art and similar things.

"Orko-sans says that if I start the Mage path, I can have any woman I want love me because I can re-write their minds to love me. He also says that you can kill any advessary by waving your fingers and chanting afew words, because you accumilated vast quantities of mana within you, and can direct them as your wrath. I don't think I want to be a mage. It seems silly. But, not having magical talent seems more silly." He shrugged. "Cedric-Sensei said that Magic and swordsmanship countermind each other, because good magic doesn't require swords, and good swordsmanship doesn't require magic. Both are vulnerable to interfering with each other when attempts to use both are made, like the elfish Fighter/mages of his homeland. They buffed themselves with magic, and used mana to enhance the qualitity of their fighting, but failed to compete with the more skilled drow who fought better without buffs than those who had them." Buffs wear off, but true skill only decays with fatigue. Elfish bodies tire slowly, which means a spell to enhance your fighting prowess is more likely to expire long before the elf grows tired. "Elric-sans thinks that I should be a lockpick, because I'm sneaky." That he was. "What do you think, Aella?"

Malik had spent most of his time with Piper and Kieran discussing politics and the like, trade routes as well. the annoyance of the runic portal not functioning was dicussed, and arrangements made for things to be moved or more than the usual to come back and forth when it was reopened. after all, Somone pissing off a god usually got themselves kill and whatever they did or took replaced.

Broog got himself up, and though he towered like a tree over Lharika, shrugged his shoulders.

"Des take gud cares of Broog. broog not vera sosheil. Hows do wez dance.?"

Onyx kept his mouth shut indeed. before he said something that got him and cedric into a fight. But once Tarathiel showed up, Onyx's attention moved entirely to the boy and Aella...before making his shard vanish.

"Yes, Cedric was being flirty. you know how Celeste wants me to beat him when he does that."

but a snort about the mages.

"Orko has a lot to learn yet. magical power is great. but not always effective. and a mage is very, very vulnerable when thier magic can be avoided or countered or even flat out nullified."

Settling himself down on the floor by both of them.

"Lockpicking can be fun. one of my aunts was a thief at one point in her life. though personally, I find the path of a hunter my favorite. stalking prey, the hunt, the kill, learning to track, to skin meat. very interesting stuff. especially the insight into the animal kingdom you get by watching animals without them knowing your there."

Or people, for that matter.

Sevilin shook his head, even though she was lightly holding to him. "It's not a blessing to be thinking what I am. In no way is it redeeming." No he really didn't think so at all. After all, why would he want to impose on others what had been done to him, simply because he could? Sure one could easily say revenge...and sometimes yes he wanted revenge, but what was done, was done. What would be the point in trying to avenge or even restart a vicious circle that had taken four centuries to break from.

"Clarity can only bring more darkness sometimes, and in that only lies the worst of what could happen." Of course being Sevilin he often didn't look beyond on point on a matter, there was no nothing on the otherside of darkness, no light at the end of the tunnel. If he'd open his eyes he might see it, but Sevilin has always very much been a cut and dry individual.

Piper once again had Malikhai on her lap as the three sat together. After all, whenever Kieran came for a visit, Malik had someone he could talk to for hours who wouldn't get bored with the conversation and often would contribute to it. Amusing indeed, they both rambled on at times. Good thing she never saw Malik in the light of her him being old enough to be her father, or this would be weird. Reaching to Malikhai she marked his page and plucked the book from him, closing it. Much of course to his displeasure which was broadcast with a frown. "You can study more tomorrow, you have other things you need to study and you need to take a break too." He reward was a relenting sigh and he leaned back against her chest, taking interest in his boots. A look over to her father, waiting for a break in thier rambling. "How long are you staying?"

Sure it was business talk and he had been trying to stay away from it but some things just needed to be talked about now didn't they? Of course. However at least all the heavy aspects were easy to keep up and solutions easy to come by when it came to these two talking to each other, they had a nice way of feeding off of each other's ideas.

His attention moved to Piper however at her own question in the break of words between the two older elves. "Hm, not very long. Maybe a day or two. Figured I would drop in and see how everyone is fairing, after all I know Isleandra just sort of got thrown down here and such. Maybe take Lharika back with me." A slight shrug. "How's the draithix thing going by the way?"

A tug on his mother's collar. "I'm hungry mommy." Tummy said it was lunch time...or at least a snack time. Maybe it was after lunch but before dinner so it was a late snack. He'd lost track of time among all that studying, showing off, and excitment. But tummy never failed him before.

Keely was more or less watching everything out there and weren't they just a group. She hardly understood what happened around here anymore, though she stayed around Meilikki anyway so she supposed that was the reason for that. Occassionally she saw the others when they came to see Meilikki but when Meilikki was out...well yeah. And she didn't pretend to understand elves or half elves or anything else. After all, she was just human. So back inside with her and all the little things she had been sent to fetch, weaving her way through the crowd of the little space. "Excuse me." Though it was odd being around a child and not babysitting it, seeing as that's what she usually did.

Arthur was really happy at the moment, his hands moving over Isle's soft skin, he was just loving in; just like Isle liked to tug on his hair he liked to touch very smooth skin, and as noted before this elf's skin was like Zahara's and he liked that very much. "Good I'm glad to hear that Isle." A small chuckle came from him as his hands went down her collar bone near her chest, but he stayed away from that area and came back up and worked her back slowly, noting how the brusies were coming in. Though when Isle told him that she needed to wash her hair he nodded and grabbed some shampoo. "I'll do it for you, you need to relax..." So he took some of the shampoo in his hands and worked it into Isle's hair, giving her scalp a nice gentle rub as Isle's hair got covered in the shampoo. "Is this alright...?" He asked, well he was worried he may be doing something she didn't like, but if she wanted to let him know she could answer or a nice goran or two would be good, he was aiming for those.

This was just too good. She was so great. Yes a little self ego stroking for her, after all, she usually had to work harder for this. But Galesen was attentive. Not that he didn't get something back so this was all well and fair. Yup. Didn't even have to wash her own hair. Nope, she could just lounge there, her arms along the rim of the tub on each side and relax as he took care of her. So great indeed.

But she gave a lightl nod as he worked her hair. "Mmmhmm..." It really did feel good. She had to at least give Galesen credit that he was good with his hands. After all, some swordsmen just weren't. Silly men, not knowing thier own strength sometimes. "It's fantastic." Closing her eyes and just letting herself enjoy the feeling...after all tomorrow she was going to be all touchy and mean and sore.

Kora's eyes were wide and alert. He'd never seen a dragon up close before! ...And when ever she did see them trotting around, they were always geared up with lots and lots of armor. Though she was small compared to others, she was still plenty big from Kora's point of view!

Her eyes darted from Kalam's bandaged arm, and back to Kafele. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, after all.

She glimpsed over towards Kalam again, while he wasn't looking. He really was kind of cute. She could feel the tips of her ears warming up.

"Who are you?" She demanded.

Kora spun her attention towards Kafele. The door shut behind her. She cowerd slightly, in involutary submission.

"Ooh, erm... I'm... unh... Kora?" she stammered.

Leaf woke up with a start, unsure what time it was. Standing up found her on the floor, rubbing at a foot that had fallen asleep while she herself slept. She sat for a moment and fixed her dreadlocks before standing up again, taking a look around. She felt clamy and congested from their long swim in the cold and dark.

She chuckled. "It changes when you've ascended, besides there is no such thing as Hell. At least, not the way most people think of it." She fell silent for a moment before asking a question. "If you could have declined assenton, would you?"

"You should still be playing," she teased. "One day you might have to woo a girl with that music, and you wouldn't want to be rusty."

"Orko..for all his boasting he doens't look very happy, does he?" She sat for a moemnt and thought, as she always had to. "Hmm, what do I think? I think you should be sometihng like a ranger. Know everything, leave no bit of information or skill as trivial." She smilled. "Be well rounded."

And to Onyx. "No...I never knew that." She gave him an odd loook.

Kalam sat against the door and whistled, waiting to see if Kafele would try to eat Kora.

"Kora?" She looked down her nose at the girl. "Kora? Was that a question or a statment?" Steam rolled out her nostrals.

She held out a foot. "Well? Don't just stand there, sharpen my claws. Kalam won't let me sharpen them on his ribs." She sneered at the closed door. Where a "Ha ha, so funny." Was heard.

She got a bit of a softer look though when turning back, spekaing quietly so that Kalam couldn't hear her. "Never groomed a dragon before? I'm not going to bite your head off, you know."

Fin looked more or less like he always did. Dispite his hard life, he was gorgeous as ever. It must have been the way he carried himself, or the subtle nature of his smile that made him appear to always be so graceful. He seemed disinterested in the food before him, mostly because he was used to not eating everyday. It seemed to indulgent to eat all the time. But, alas, the morning came to an end, and the duet were forced upon their next adventure. Unfortunately for the pair, the next Temple was that of Fire. The great red wyrm waited for them by the exit, rather sorrifully. He gave them each a ring which would protect them from most extreme heats, but he bade them not to try it agianst his breath. He would never give food the means to avoid his favorite attack. Off they went, to the Temple of Fire, beyond the mountain of Doom, in the valley of Sorrow, passed the River of Broken Dreams, and in the land of the Forsaken. All of those, of coures, were just names.

Kimmuriel chuckled in his devilish way, "I think you know the answer to that question. Or at least, I hope you know the answer to it..." The drow examined his gauntlet, "It be a shame if you didn't."

Tarathiel listen to both of the two adults, and noticed that they had similar ideas of what he should do with his life. "Music doesn't woo girls." Tarathiel boldly said with a very finite tone.

"Onyx-sans, everything has a glaring weakness to being nulified." The child replied to that earlier explination. But that was obvious, "

Back to Aella, "Cell gets jealous when Cedric-sensei is with other women. You, Meilikki-sensei, Rydia-sans, the maids, and especially that stable girl with the blond hair and the blue eyes." Tarathiel giggled, "Because she's lonely without him, like how I was lonely before Lavi started playing with me."

Leaf had wanted to go to the air temple...she liked air. But she was only slightly disappointed, seeing as how she would get to the air temple at some point anyway. She didn't much pay attention to the landscape as they passed by, so whe they landed she was a little surprised. It was unlike her to not pay attention to her surroundings. Her sense of direction was now lost.

She smiled. "It would, wouldn't it? But sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask." She sat a little while in comfortable silence. "How about you, god who probably knows anyway. Any questions you have for me?"

"Oh? Are you so sure?" She gave the child on her arm a playful shake. "Why are you being so stubborn then? Is there a giiiiiirl you like?" She had often times teased him like this.

And thhen, "Oh really? I hand't noticed before..."

The fiery temple looked more welcoming than the other temples, which probably ment that it was more dangerous. Fin fitted the ring to his finger, and started for the door. He noticed that the air grew noticably hotter, and stale. He peeked his head into the entrance way, and was surprised by what he saw.

"Do you miss me openly, or do you keep it a secret from everyone?" He asked, probably as caring as he could muster in a verbal way.

"NO!" He proclaimed, "Girls are ickky." He crossed his arms on his chest a puffed it out.

"Cell just needs a Lavi to make her feel better." The elf pointed towards where the dragon's watering hole was, and where he was currently sleeping. He would be out for a few days, agian. Tarathiel just had to accept it, and found that he could, because if he was too lonely, he could just go and play on Lavi's back, or on his head.

"A true hunter though learns his weaknesses and strives to improve those areas. by studying the world around us, we learn all sorts of weaknesses and strengths, and when applying the knowledge to oneself, things that may nto have been obvious before are made known."

Onyx plopped himself down.

"Such as, I have a rather horrible temper. there are animals in teh wilds that have such dispositions. and while this was not at first obvious to myself, after noting similar behaviors in other creatures, I learned about myself."

A smirk.

"A hunter is always learning. always mindful and watching his surroundings. virtually unable to be caught offguard without the use of magical items or power. and even then, some hunters are skill enough to know the real from the illusion."

"They hatched. other than that I'm not sure. Though I wouldn't mind Lharika staying a little longer, as she's our expert with them. at least until we got a good handle on them."

A grin at his son.

"you're always hungry. At least you got your father's appetite. we have to force mommy to eat, don't we."

A slight chuckle there.

Kora's shoulders relaxed.

"But... do you bite at all?"

She managed a smile, and looked to the dragon's claws.

"No, I can't say that I've ever groomed a dragon"

She leaned in closer towards Kafele, and lowered her voice to a whisper.

"Heck, just take a loot at me! I hardly even groom myself!"

"Oh they're pretty self sufficent. Once they learn what thier enviroment is they adapt very quickly. They're almost like little jacks of all trades. Though don't let them into a small space with climbable things...they had a tendency to climb all over...especially when they're learning thier wings." A slight chucke...obviously he was thinking of something amusing. But a look over to Piper and Malikhai as well. "She's always eaten like that..."

He smiled at his father in that way he did when he got positive attention and was on the 'right side' of things. In this case, being like daddy again. That was always something to smile about. "Mommy eats like a bird." Not that he had ever really seen too many a bird, but he knew what they were. Though he seemed to think better of the statement. "A little bird." Because big birds ate a lot, right?

"Ha ha." She rolled her eyes. "You three just love to pick on me when you all get together." A good natured chuckle however before poking Malikhai in the side, making him give a noise and squirm lightly. "I suppose that means I have to feed you. At least I don't eat everyone out of house and home like you men do." Picking the child up and standing, giving a look at the other two. "Am I feeding you both as well?"

Zahara knew how narrow minded he could be when it came to himself and what he was capable of and what he could do and couldn't do and she knew better than to all out argue with him over it. She just settled back against the headboard and pulled him with her, resting him against her, her fingers continuing their soothing petting through his hair. Her voice softened and she hardly spoke above a murmur. "I can't tell you unless you tell me what's going on. There may be no redeeming quality in what you are thinking, considering and maybe even formulating in your mind but that doesn't mean you are horrible yourself. And just because something is in your mind or blood doesn't mean it has to be indulged. But I can't say anymore until you tell me more."

"Well that's okay. Anyone can dance Broog, you just move however you feel like moving." She stood up herself and skipped over to a clear spot then clapped her hands a few times and began to shake her hips in the childish way and stamp her feet, moving her body to some sort of rhythm going on in her head. "See? It's easy and a lot of fun!"
