Felina tutted sliding otut the door after another moment of looking "Hey now be nice, I have to look good all the time because I'm royaalty and apparently we can't have so much as one bad hair day unlike some who often has them" she teased tucking Cid into her clothes. "Ahh can't beat a smell like this one and that servant there probably managed to steal some" she quietly added pointing out a member of staff sneaking about.
Satoshi smiled patting a cushion when she thought nobody was looking for Gil to join her "Thats surprising, since the opposite would be expected around these parts but at least most people are too polite to stare all that much right? At least in our crew anyway and Zadina only stares at you because he thinks your amazing and your going to teach him to be the best elf sword fighter ever"

Oassu nodded "Well so long as he's careful and doesn't steal anything of yours he's fine" he said closing the door behind them "Still lets hurry wouldn't do to be late to my first meal here" he said.
Gil nodded sitting down by Satoshi "Well we'll see, the elves have a great history of sword fighters mostly rapier users and sabers but all the same I'll get him adequate with a sword if he puts in the time" he said "Though I think a bit of time in this village would toughen him up as well" he said.
Itaka shrugged "Most of the time they are restricted to a field near the farm and don't go out on little expeditions like this and left to their own devices though I'm sure we can find someway to stay warm tonight" he chuckled kissing Seph's horns.

Seph smiled waiting until she had finished sucking on the chocolate bar she was given "Its you that needs to worry about the cold temperatures a little more, I think we've established its hot weather I don't function so well in" she replied with a nuzzle then a return kiss. "Well I'm sure these birds love to have the chance to go out and about in the world away from the places they are usually restricted to. Just like our little princess companion that is slowly getting corrupted by a certain thief"

Felina shrugged watching the servant a moment longer "Well thats just one less but of food for us all to eat but you need not worry about being late. If dad was getting impatient then he would have already sent somebody up to fetch us or at least check up on where we are. And this is going to be your second meal here and probably a lot more relaxed without Elithana glaring at you the whole time" she assured him.
Yuuki sighed happy to have a small sip to drink "Zadina is... the mage boy you mentioned? This village if so really isn't the place to go to teach that lot and I'm not sure magic users have time to learn weapons training properly because they need to study rather than work out"
Satoshi shrugged moving Gil's cup of coffee closer to him "Well teach him some basics and then he has plenty time to work on it. And the elves have time to work on both magic and swordplay with their lifespans. Must be pretty good by the time they get to Elorin's age" she yawned crossing over her legs "Surprised you remember so much from my letters" she added to her mother

Oassu nodded "Will just have to deal with your mother glaring at me all night instead" he muttered rolling his eyes "Though least I look nice since we bought some clothes earlier but will be good to see Corella she must be so excited about the festival" he said happily eying the expensive portraits on the wall as they walked down the hall.
Gil smiled thanking Satoshi for the coffee as he took a sip "Well yes that's Zadina and he's really a rather impressive mage considering his young age but I'm not sure he needs the weapon training should be satisfied with his own skills, he's just at that age where he's not sure what he wants to do with his future" he said "From my understanding he had a sheltered life with his parents deciding everything for him which makes sense for a royal so he's probably just confused now he has all this freedom" he said.
Itaka smirked "You think so? Probably just had that inside her all along and the freedom of travel is making her more independent lord knows how she made it to Agralia first I'd probably have ransommed her off if my guild had found her first" he said scratching his chin "Then again perhaps she's too high value to ransom, would Elorin send forces to retrieve her even in Agralia?" he pondered as he watched the clouds.

Seph nodded her head without a moment of hesitation "Oh yes, they would storm in there grab her from you and probably murder everyone in the guild. Not that I'm saying your guild lack combat skills but elves... very experienced fighters and can't think of a group of people with a greater sense of duty so tryin to ransom her would be a dangerous game" she explained giving Itaka a nuzzle. "Maybe it was inside her all along if what Hayate said about her was true but perhaps she had help getting to Agralia. Probably something we should ask one day since it could make for an interesting story. Though I will say this, from when I met first met her, she didn't have a good idea of where to wander safely"

Felina laughed nodding her head and looking away from the portrait of herself they were due to pass "Oh Corella gets excited about pretty much anything let alone the dragon festival. But yes yo do look very nice and maybe one day you looking all smart and proper will appear on one of those pictures your looking at there" she added hoppin down the first few steps.
Satoshi paused placing Terrato down on the floor so he was no logner squirming about down her back "Well I suppose why not, thouh I don't think Felina was like that much when she ot hers and I would imagine its striciter. Must be nice to be truely free to do whatever you wanted whenever" she added very quietly under her breth.
Satoshi's mum shrugged cautiously extending her hand so to pet the snake "Well nobody knows what they want to do with their future really. Theres no point planning ahead because a lot can happen in the space of a year. When I grew up, I wanted to be a doctor and you I believe wanted to be a msician at one point despite having no talent with an instrument my dear Nadira"

Oassu smirked scratching his chin at the thought "Yeah I could get on board with that though knowing Jenna she'd probably demand one as well" he said returning his attention to Felina "Though do I have to have such a dour expression on my face when they are painting me?" he asked noting the miserable looking people in the portraits.
Gil nodded "Well a mercenaries life is pretty free I guess" he said sipping his coffee and squeezing Satoshi's hand hearing her mutter "Who knows about Felina's expedition out, I was commissioned to look for her then, some Lord hoping to gain favour by finding her first so I knew she went missing while the kingdom kept her disappearence quiet" he said "Though what did she want to play when she was younger?" he asked Yuki finally putting Ikota down on the carpet.
Itaka chuckled "It's not that easy, you can't just send Elven military forces into the Agralian capital it would cause a political incident and possibly provoke an Agralian assault on elvish communities" he said grimly "Actually speaking of that I heard a number of elvish communities on Agralian soils have been evicted given the recent conflict" he muttered "Agralian diplomats aren't comfortable having potential enemies on the doorstep" he sighed.

Seph shook her head not really surprised by the news "They will never get rid of elves in Agralia, they can adapt and they have a lot of hidden settlements too. But the ones that got kicked out will survive and probably just join another community over the border" she guessed rubbing her itchy horn while she reached for another chocolate bar. "And maybe they wouldn't send a whole army into Agralia but teams of elites. Every kingdom and government has elite units and stealth teams and spies and agents afterall" she added with a squeeze

Felina laughed shaking her head "Do me and my ancestors look that bad in the form of a portrait" she asked pointing out her own. "You can pose however you want for your picture though would recommend going for something slightly dignified and smart so we can put you on the wall. Jenna would probably have to pay for her own one though if she can convince the artist to draw her. Some are all funny and picky"
Yuki snickered ignoring the small head shake from Satoshi "Well Nadira wanted to play a couple of things, like the trumpet was the main one and also the harp. And then one of the biggest regrets I had for a while was buying her a trumpet for she always kept us up all night playing it really badly"
Satoshi shuddered "Yeah I was so bad its embarrassing thinking back on it. But I take it you had no luck finding Felina when commissioned then, Hope it didn't waste too much time and the lord was at least nice about it. Theres some pretty horrible noblemen out their if out there if the ones here are something to go by"

Oassu smiled "I'm sure you probably look better than most of these though I meant for our own home slash thieves guild, and she'd be well due one but what is it like a requirement of royalty that you get one of these portraits done?" he said smiling as the scent of food grew more powerful.
Gil smirked "Aww bet it was cute seeing you try though but eh he was much like any noble, intentions were probably good though hard to say whether he was doing it out of duty or for the sway it would give him in the elvish parliament" he shrugged while taking a sip of his coffee "Though I didn't think this village was governed by any kind of nobility" he said catching onto the last thing Satoshi said as a satisfied and happy Enkidu padded into the room before slumping down beside Gil's seat.
Itaka nodded "Well I imagine most countries would be the same, elves have quite an unusual set up in that they are a nomadic country essentially though I'm sure not all countries have them, can't imagine Nu Mou managing any of that secret spy stuff" he chuckled returning the squeeze as he cuddled Seph.

Seph shook her head "You would be surprised my dear Itaka, theres some pretty charismatic nu mou out there and who needs to sneak into a building when you can just enchant everyone in the building into thinking your their boss or that your some kind of royalty" she suggested offering Itaka the last part of her chocolate bar. "And in the elves credit, despite their unsusual set up, they band together quite well and have their loyalties sorted out"

Felina paused uncertain "Well I hope you know that I want a nice home with a little privacy, no offence to Jenna and all that. But of course, once upon a time there were no ways in which to give the general public a way of knowing how their royals looked like so portraits were used and since then have become a tradition to have at least one portrait" she explained skipping down the last few steps "Hey slow down there Corella the food isn't going anywhere" she called seeing her sister zooming down the hallway ahead of them for the food.
Yuudai nodded pouring himself some milk from the low coffee table "Maybe not the village itself but we're still in a country that is ruled over by an emperor and ninja are often dragged in and hired to take care of the political stuff they cant do in public, like assassinating rival factions and shaking down a few people not tax paying and the like"
"Yep thats basically it. Though because our village is the farthest away from the capital. They very rarely try and do business with out village to try and fob them off as to why we won't do the less moral jobs" Satoshi added after shrugging off the memory of the terrible music playing sounds that she used to make.

Oassu smirked "Well there goes my plan for a nice little base I could run, at the least I'll get like a little holiday home for them to operate out of but couldn't you just go and see the public so they know what you look like, because honestly putting a portrait in the out-of-bounds palace still isn't a good way of showing them what you all look like" he said stepping aside slightly as Corella zoomed past surprised she didn't stop to say hi to Felina.
Gil frowned "Doesn't sound particularly nice, I certainly wouldn't mind accepting a job to remove him from power though guess I'm contracted already" he said "Frankly I presumed the ninja were independant factions of a government based on how you war with one another" he said.
Itaka shrugged "I guess so but if it's any important building they tend to take out protection against such illusion magic and enchantments like it's a box you can tick when the building is being constructed thank you" he said taking the piece of chocolate and tossing it in his mouth "Though we should pack up and get these chocobos back for their evening meal" he said.

Seph sighed but nodded her head before reluctantly getting up out of position "Yeah I guess your right, not fair to have them watching us then get nothing as that probably made them hungry. And sure you can try putting up anti magic procedures but if your opponant is really good with magic, they can still pass spells through although with a more limited effect and those things don't protect against potions either" she eplained offering her hand to help him up"
