"Gust attack, Pidgey!" Falkner stated calmly, still shielding his eyes from the sand. He watched with confidence as Pidgey flapped its wings again, pushing back any extra sand that had been heading its way. A small, funnel-shaped gust of wind formed between the two Pokemon, and at the Pidgey's direction, it whipped across the ground with tremendous speed and was headed right for Larvitar.

"I originally come from Cherrygrove City, but I've been hanging around here for a while now," Miharu said quietly. "Mostly just training so that I may one day best the gym leader, then move one. My last gym match, well, the best word to describe that would be disaster." She looked at the ground again, her green hair falling about her cheeks and chin. Lily cast her a sympathetic glance and bumped her head against Miharu's leg. "But other than that, I don't think we've met before. I'm sorry." She was quiet for a moment or two before she spoke up again. "Perhaps it'd be best if you got your Totodile to the Pokemon Center for treatment? Despite her advantage, she did suffer a lot of damage." The Bulbasaur shook her head, curious to why her trainer was so well spoken and polite with other people, but when it was just her and the Pokemon, she was loud, abrasive and more like a boy. Perhaps it was because most people thought she was a boy at first. Miharu glanced down at the plant Pokemon as if she knew she was thinking something she shouldn't, and gave a slight laugh.

Come one...wait a sec, that's right! Larvitar is a rock type, so flying type moves won't have much effect. Let's just hope there isn't a repeat of what happened with Spinarak. "Larvitar, charge forward into the gust and use Sandstorm under Pidgey!" Larvitar braced itself and ran full speed into the funnel of wind and sand. The sand had no effect on his stone body, and the gusts of wind slammed into Larvitar, but did not slow him down. Taking the damage head on, Larvitar got underneath the flying pidgey and created a pillar of swirling sand that rose higher and higher.

"Ohh, I see," Rin said with a slight nod. "I think I'm going to a Pokemon coordinator myself." I'm not a strong as Risa. It's probably best if I lay off the gym battles for a while. "Ah. Yeah that'd be a good idea. The rest of my teams needs some treatment as well. Are you headed to Goldenrod yourself?"

"Clever," Falkner nodded, but quickly regained his battle composure. "Alright Pidgey, go with the flow!" He knew very well that the sands would slowly hurt his Pokemon, but the burns Larvitar suffered from Spearow's Tri Attack would do the same. "Keep your distance and attack with another Gust!"
The flying Pokemon shifted its position, riding with the windy Sandstorm as it pushed its skyward. The tiny bird winced a bit, feeling the effects of the buffeting sand, but pressed onward. Using a burst of speed, the bird shot out of the funnel of sand and sent another windy vortex at Larvitar, not yielding so much as an inch.

"damn....I can't hit Pidgey when it's in the sky with anything else. Untill it comes down, sandstorm is all I have...wait a sec..I got it!" Crenu watched as pidgey flew around riding the wind, and became inspired. Larvitar may have been made of rock, but he was still small. "It's risky, but so is doing nothing. Larviter, jump into the gust and use sandstorm underneath you!" Larvitar clenched his teeth as the burn continued to damage his body. He ran forward and jumped into the gust, getting a little bit of lift. Just hen, he created another funnel of sand that spun with the gust and began to build up under Larvitar's body. The wind and sand pushed untill Larvitar poped high into the air, heading straight for Pidgey like a bullet with it's jaws open wide. "We only have one shot, Bite Attack!"

"Pokemon Contests have never really appealed to me, but to each their own." The small girl nodded, folding her arms behind her back. Lily let go of Miharu's wrist, and gave a bit of a sleepy yawn. She extended the vine, and touched her Poke Ball, and was soon pulled inside. "She does that all the time," Miharu sighed. "Comes and goes as she pleases. She's a good girl, though." Miharu looked back towards the forest, then to Rin. "I suppose I'll be headed there at some point, but not until I am able to defeat Bugsy. I imagine the leader of the Goldenrod gym will be even tougher than he is." She walked over to her bike, put up the kickstand and walked it back to where Rin was standing. "My name's Miharu, by the way," she added, checking over her bike almost compulsively.

"Watch out, Pidgey!" Falkner called, watching in surprise at the Larvitar's bold move. The much-quicker Pidgey had just enough time to get out of the way, a few of its tail feathers yanked painfully from its body from the Larvitar's vicious bite attempt. "Now hit it with another Gust before it can recover!"
Screeching horribly from the pain of having some feathers pulled out, the small bird did a quick turn around and whipped up another fierce wind, aiming so that if it hit, Larvitar would crash to the ground. Falkner found himself clenching his teeth, for the thought of losing filled him with a sort of dread.

"The name's Rin," she said with a small nod. "How about we exchange Pokenav numbers?" Rin needed to get to Goldenrod to pick up her contest pass, but she felt that she had already missed the contest that was being held in Kanto. "Maybe I'll try and get a Zyphyr badge," she muttered to herself.

"Larvitar, Sandstorm!" As Larvitar fell through the air, he spit out a mouthfull of feathers andcreated another vortex of sand from bellow. The pillar rose and twisted, heading right for Pidgey as it shot a blast of wind at Larvitar, which sent Larvitar rocketing for the arena floor. "Quick, Sandstorm again!" Larvitar tried to creat another pillar to catch him, but only managed to conjur up a small cushion just a few feet above the ground that slowed him down a little, but not enough to stop him. He still hit the floor hard, causing cracks so scatter across the floor.

"Sounds alright with me," Miharu said, reaching into the side bag of her bike and taking the device out. As she did, she caught sight of the green badge case lodged beside it, and sighed. "I think you could do it," she said, not looking up. "If I can manage to eke out a win against Falkner, I'm certain you can, too." The small girl smiled at Rin, already making an entry. I haven't made any friends yet, so this must be good for me, she thought.

Mag and Sunfire strolled into Cerulean city after a close call with some very thorny bushes that were along the path. They looked to the southern edge of the main sqaure just in time to see some people standing in a circle disperse. Mag glimpsed a two trainers one a girl with a Slowbro and the other a Boy with a Flareon.
"Hey look another one." Mag said to his pokemon. "AWESOME! I haven't seen another fire type in such a long time." Sunfire joyously shouted in Mag's head as he ran about him. "I know. But another fire doesn't fit into my team plans at the moment okay?" Mag said to him. "But maybe we can go talk to that guy."

Falkner's lips were set in a tight line as he watched Larvitar fall. Pidgey hovered near its trainer's shoulder, waiting to see what would happen next. With each flap of its wings, bits of sand rained down onto the arena floor. The small bird still looked ready to fight, and Falkner said nothing, only folded his arms.

Crneu smiled, he knew what was going on. As the sand settled, things grew quiet again. "Sandstorm!" Suddenly, Larvitar leapt up from the sand and dust cloud and created a vortex the headed right for Pidgey. Larvitar landed on the floor and panted, he may have survived the fall but there wasn't much left for him to give, especially with the burn still taking effect.

Laughing slightly he was about to reply to Keegan's comment he noticed that Kenny was looking rather tired on his resting place on his sholder. Frowning slightly he reached for his pokeball, "I think you need some rest Kenny." He said with asmall smile on his face as he recalled the sleepy pokemon. Putting the pokeball back into his bag he picked out another and shrugging he tossed it out to reveal Bahamut, he was eager to have her evovle soon and the more time she spent out he figured that she would evovle sooner. He had a slight pain of guilt that he hadn't let Apollo out for a while but he would attract to much attention that he didn't really care for at the moment, he promised to himself that afte rthe gym battle Apollo would be getting a nice long run. Bahamut buzzed around a little befor resting on top of Dante's head messing up the auburn hair some as she settled down onto it to watch the battle going on.
