Katie was trying to hook that damn communicator somewhere on her outfit so she didn't lose it. She heard Madison's nervous laugh. Once she had the communicator hooked she answered the woman's question.

"I'm fine."

She never was one to tell others when she was nervous or even frightened. It never was good to make the situation worse. Her way of coping was not talking about it and just doing it. This was one of those ways. She had a method. It might not actually be what was considered the right way, but it worked for her.

Asherah was asking who was going with whom.

"You can ride with Ash. Does that sound good?"

She knew the two knew each other, so she didn't mind hitching a ride with the green haired woman.

More hustle and bustle. And suddenly, dragons! One more of them! One part of the group seemed about to leave, but another part was staying? Was he too late, or just in the nick of time?

One older gentleman proceeded to list off his list of skills to a tall, dark, and serious fellow, followed by a woman with long black hair. Perhaps he should do the same?

"Uh... hi everyone." Awkward pause for a moment as he looked back and forth within the bar, clearing his throat, then continuing. "I, uh... I'm Cecil... and I travelled a long way to

Anuksu Noir
"Very well Maximos I'll feed before we go. We wouldn't want me running off for it during the trip. I shall return shortly."

And with that he turned to face the door, and began to walk out of the tavern to find a fresh donor. He was hungrier than he realised, for he hadn't fed since a bit before he met the group in the woods.

"Eep!" Cecil said, ducking out of the door frame to get out of this angry fellow's way. Feed? Was this man part of the vampire population that was unusually high in this part of the world? Best not to take one's chances, so he decided discretion was the better part of valor. Defending himself wasn't his strong suit, so best not to attract attention to himself.

After watching him leave, and waiting til the man was probably out of earshot, he would shrink back nervously into the doorway.

"Ahem. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... I'm sorry." he apologized, scratching the side of his head nervously, chuckling quietly.

"I'm... My name is Cecil Hawthorne, and I've travelled here from lands afar. I was prophecied to be here on this date for a mission of dire importance, and I come to offer my services as a practicioner of the arcane."

...

Facepalm! "GODS, it still sounds recited!" he scorned himself, before sighing audibly. "I'm sorry. I... well, I was told to be here, and it sounded like a good idea. I don't even know what's going on."

Pressing his index fingertips together in front of his face nervously, he struggled with what to say next, opening and closing his mouth several times in uncertainty.

"I... I can make people big? And a little healing. And, uh... yeah..."

Awkwaaard.

Kurosakii Ichigo

PostPosted: Thu Aug 28, 2008 2:14 pm

With everything settled, Ichigo decided not to waste any time. Sakura appeared to be pretty straightforward, much like how Rage seemed to him, so hanging back wouldn't be a good idea. Ichigo figured it was probably a sibling thing, but of course there was a lot more to that than he realized.

Not time to bother thinking about that now. People were already heading out the door, so it was best he got a move on. He headed out of the Firebrand and onto the beach, where--

"Hey, wait a sec!"

Kon popped his head out of Ichigo's jacket as Ichigo neared the group heading with Sakura.

"That's the dragon that took me outta that creepy-a** forest!" said Kon, "I dunno, it was being led by that guy with the green hair!"

Which of course meant Rage, since Captain Planet wasn't in the roster.

"Really? Huh..." Guess they really are siblings. Who else would be able to ride the same dragon?

"Wait! Ichigo, are you serious? Are we really going with the all-girls team? Now you're speaking my language!" The stuffed animal sighed dreamily. "Now I'll finally be able to have some peace throughout this nightmarish--"

Ichigo interrupted Kon by stuffing him back into his jacket.

"Keep it down, alright?" said Ichigo, "We're supposed to look like tourists. I'd rather leave you here and just travel as a Shinigami, but that'll just make us stick out."

Although Ichigo was invisible to the eyes of non-spiritually aware people, it wasn't rare in these parts for people to be able to see spirits. Their enemy was surely no exception, as they would end up noticing Ichigo a mile away like a beacon of spiritual pressure if he didn't stay in his living body. Although he'd rather Kon keep his body safe elsewhere, there would probably be more safe havens along the way before they reached their final destination.

Once the others going with Sakura seated themselves on the dragon, Ichigo followed suit. He had never gotten a ride on a dragon before. For that matter, he really never got this close to an actual dragon. It was an odd feeling considering how strong dragons were, but Ichigo figured it wasn't going to eat anyone without good reason. He'd have to make sure Kon didn't agitate it.

"Alright," he said, loud enough for the others to hear him, "I'm ready to go."

By now, Twitch and Ryuji had come to some of understanding... though she probably didn't do anything, what with Sakura recently asking it not to chew on the blades. Satisfied, she went to Seung to give them an update, and start splitting people up so she could send some of the guys home. That didn't take long at all... she wasn't going to embroil these random guys in all of this, though she pretty much forced Seung to stay on call. That news produced a wail to the heavens from the Korean, heard possibly for quite a distance, but it had been settled. She'd keep a way to contact Seung after they were dropped off, so whenever they had to egress it could happen in a timely fashion.

See, everything had gone on fine enough... the first team was on their way out. D' watched the girls-and-man ready themselves to ship off as she went back inside the Tavern.

*BONK*

Not watching where she was going, she hadn't noticed that somewhere between here and there, she'd gained some size, notably the height that had her smacking her head on the top edge of the doorway and stumble stupidly to the ground. She immediately sat up and looked around, trying to figure out exactly what happened.

"Dude, what the hell?"

"It probably the best if you went with Rage, Katie considering that you were given the map." At that point Madison felt the kiss on her cheek and the pipe fox disappearing. She could only smile and began to make her way over to where Asherah was with her dragon.

She was very slow approaching it, which was unusual considering that she often went rather quickly naturally. She was still very curious about the creature that she was visiting, she was even more curious about the one on her neck, however she had to take things one thing at a time.

"So...how do I get onto these things?" Madison looked rather confused about the creature, she had never really dealt with one before and a part of her never did want to deal with one.

Dragons and rabbits never mixed well.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 28, 2008 10:53 pm

"Nyth, down."

The dragon leaned to the side and exposed it's back to Madison. There was a clear patch for the rabbit to sit on just between her wings, and small spikes protruding for her to hand tight on. Asherah crawled up behind the crest, and thus settling down in another cleared spot. As Ash readied, Nyth straightened herself out and was on all fours again. Nyth then stretched out her her wings and flapped them once to prepare them for flight.

"Just hold tight. If anything goes wrong, just tell me and I'll see to it. The dragon's name is Nyth and she loves to be petted where there aren't spikes."

Asherah looked behind her shoulder and smiled.

"Savvy?"

This is where Katie gets on the dragon? It seemed everyone was ready to go. She would climb up onto the dragons back to seat herself behind Sakura whenever Sakura gave the go ahead, even if she still wasn't sure who the woman was. Was this like Rage's sister? She was confused.

Hearing someone call out for them to wait, she looked down the beasts side to some man making his way to them. He was obviously intent on riding out of here with them, and she really didn't see that it was a problem, unless Sakura did.

"I guess we're ready..?"

Maximos didnt answer Lucind with words persay. Bright eyes and a wide smile said, "Of course my dear, you didnt even have to ask." Better than those very words would have.

"Very well Ma--"

Was all the vampire would get out before Maximos looked over shoulder, with an empty sort of stare, his eye brow cocked as he interrupted.

--Your still here? Go!

He said, rather curtly. Honestly? Wasnt his nod enough?

With that he turned back to Quin, and Maximos listened. A seriousness about his face intermingled with kindness. It wore a smile, and yet in his eyes were flecks of the serious the situation truly did inspire.

Quin's every word was caught, as Max gave the man the clear impression that each word did infact matter as much as it truly did.

...ranged combat, sniping, stealth, infiltration, and things that go boom...

And vehicles. Maximos did not know much about vehicles though he knew that a large chopper and a dragon were not exactly the pinnacle of stealth operation. And that if the first squad did infact encounter a combat situation then arriving in something so very noticeable would only put the squad in danger.

As Quin finished, Maximos folded his arms across his chest, index and middle fingers of one hand rising to his chin. It was a "Hmm" pose, and a "Hmm" is precisely what followed. He hadnt expected so many to jump at the first squad...but...

We havent yet arranged our other squads. Though if its an even divide I do know, as it stands mine consists of myself of course, Ms. Rae, and the vampire. Sun will most likely be taking Hono, Lazenca, and perhaps Lady Rei. That leaves Twitch, Rain Yupa...

As Maximos recognized him from his vision. And assumed the man hadnt left yet, as his essence was on Hono.

And...

He made a gesture toward the man at the door. A once Mr...

"I, uh... I'm Cecil."

Mr. Cecil.

He said with a nod, before turning back to Quin.

Your welcome on either squad. Though I do believe mine will be last, leaving us a good amount of room from sneaking behind busy enemy lines and delivering a generous helping of "boom". And I will admit to a certain curiousity as to how these...

What was that word, he seemed to be searching for it in his mouth somewhere before finally finding it and letting it slip.

...gadgets, work.

Maximos was always a curious man. And technology while far from his realm of usual understanding was always of interest. It seemed to function so similar to magic, a few same base principals with entirely different methods to them. Though speaking of magic....

I'm... My name is Cecil Hawthorne, and I've travelled here from lands afar. I was prophecied to be here on this date for a mission of dire importance, and I come to offer my services as a practicioner of the arcane.

Excuse me a moment.

Maximos said with a respectful nod to Mr. Mathadius, before turning to make his way toward the wizard at the door. Maximos was perhaps not the best face of the party. There was a sort of reddish stain to his black shirt and pinstriped vest. His sleeves were rolled up with his right arm bandaged, and his left arm well, and his clothes were somewhat beat. Yet still from surviving the explosion at the stadium.

"GODS, it still sounds recited!" he scorned himself, before sighing audibly. "I'm sorry. I... well, I was told to be here, and it sounded like a good idea. I don't even know what's going on."

Maximos' hand rose to pat the man on the shoulder. His mismatched black and white eyes that be ing a black left, white right eye meeting Cecil's from behind a pair of glasses.

You sound absolutely fine. No use wasting a good destiny, come...sit down.

Maximos would make his way toward the large meeting table, a gentle nudge being made at the mans shoulder. A universal gesture of welcoming. And slid out an empty chair. Then, gestured to Sun.

Mr. Sunstrike was just finishing up a briefing. I'm sure he wouldnt mind repeating a bit for Quin and for--

*BONK*

From a head that size, no offense meant, a bonk did a bit to shake the doorframe, and the door. Her arms longer, Twitch was likely able to grab the door and pull before he head met solid matter. Leaving the door swung just open enough for everyone to see.

"Dude, what the hell?"

And in turn for Maximos to redirect his last sentence.

...for your and our sakes, Mr. Cecil, could you em...help with that.

He said with a smirk of sorts. A smile to show there was nothing to truly fear...'cept perhaps Twitch's temper.

Quinn took Lucinds' right hand in his left, leaning down to kiss the top gently.

"A pleasure, I'm sure."

He looked to Twitch and tilted a brow. Stifling his laughter, he pressed his fist to his lips as he controlled his breathing, sides of his lips curving up in defiance of his will. That was a damn large head! As a scientist, he found the immediacy of magic startling, but the effects were for the most part funny. Some terrible things did happen through magic, but that was true of everything that was a tool of sentient use.

Getting control, he turned to Maximos and cleared his throat.

"I can have a Chinook transport two Jeeps here. I have my HB outside, which I can use. While helicopter transport is useful in infiltration, it's used mainly for either altitude infiltration or for dropped a unit long distance from their target. What we require for stealth is a long range ground vehicle that can take all of us, but is silent. Hence, jeep. It's lightweight, has a quiet engine, and an old mechanic friend of mine improved the fuel capacity so it can go further.

And I can show you how these 'gadgets' work when we get the time, I'm always happy to oblige a curious mind."

He pulled out a second com device and awaited confirmation of the need for these vehicles.

The sudden, literally, appearance of Damion on the Firebrands proverbial doorstep would likely create no suprise at all, likely no one was paying that much attention. Twitch, however, was blocking his way in, though that was secondary to his confusion as to how he had gotten there in the first place. Last he remember he was talking to that orange headed...." Yer' blockin' the door."

Was that his voice? Sounded like his, though he didn't rightly remember telling his mouth to move and form said words. It was like he was a passenger in his own body right now, his spirit lost in la-la land.

"?"

Having finally lost interest in chewing on the aircraft on one side, Ryuji took a great deal of interest in the female dragon on his other side. Frankly, considering the dwindling population due to domestication or people out slaying them to prove one thing or another, it was a rarity for Ryu to see another dragon, let alone a female one. Completely ignoring the fact that everyone else looked ready to go, he instead craned his neck towards Nyth. He had seen the way humans did this sort of thing, and he was out of his game when it came to Drakonic rituals anyways. He spoke in a low series of growls; he was hoping the female would understand them.

"With wings like that, you must be an angel."

If only he could point. He certainly had the smile down.

Meanwhile, Sakura was rather busy trying not to laugh, and failing miserably at it. Instead she covered her mouth with her hand to hide her chuckles. Calming down after a few moments, she checked who was joining her on the flight. Looked like Katie and Ichigo for now, which would work just as well. It was a hell of a time flying back from the forest with so many people, so just the three of them would be fairly smooth.

Ruffling through her pack, Sakura pulled out two pairs of goggles, tossing them at the other two before getting a running start (difficult, considering the sand) onto the red dragon's back. "Hey, Ryu, put your tail down." What sounded like a series of growling sounds was actually the Drakonic language, and Ryu responded quickly by straightening out his tail so anyone that wasn't Sakura and her bizarre ability to jump so high would be able to climb up.

"Okay, you might want to put those goggles on unless you like having the air whip at your eyes. You'll want to stay low, too. Obviously I haven't installed any seats, and I don't plan to, so if you get really desperate just grab at some of the scales and dig your fingers in. Any questions?"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 29, 2008 10:26 am

Katie caught the goggles that were tossed to her and slipped them on. She in no way understood the dragon, so she didn't know what Sakura thought was so funny.

Then Sakura was bounding up towards them to get a seat on the dragon.

"Wait..what? Dig your fingers in?"

She wasn't about to start expressing that she was afraid of heights, not in front of two people she didn't know. The best thing was to hold on tight and not look down, right? This was not going to be fun.

"..."

She glanced towards Madi and Asherah to see if their dragon had seats. Her fingers were already digging into the red dragon's scales, paranoia was definitely crashing over her, but if she thought of other things she could keep it squashed, mostly.

Nyth craned her neck towards Ryuji as well and looked at him with her mirror like eyes. What was he trying to do, impress her? Silly dragon. Nyth blinked and replied in what seemed to be a string of ethereal song.

"You have no idea..." Nyth then gestured to where Sakura was situated with her snout. "She wants to leave you know."

"You won't need goggles Madison. Nyth is aerodynamic, so you'll be able to see." Asherah flagged Sakura and gave a thumbs up. "Lead the way!"

Madison was rather excited as this was her first time flying.

She held onto the dragonas well as she could and waited for lift off. And to be honest, she couldn't wait.

Cecil would nod somewhat hesitantly when Maximos, who towered over him by about half a foot, invited him in. Cecil avoided eye contact, though not out of nervousness, but because of the mismatched eyes. He felt that by looking at them, he'd be staring and probably offend the man. He was well-spoken, but certainly looked the part of a ruffian at the moment, so needless to say, the young mage was intimidated.

"I, um... thank you." he said meekly, nodding his head slightly. But, apparently, there really was something going on. A briefing? And if all the people here were capable adventurers like himself (well, probably moreso than himself), than the number gathered here indicated something important was going down. The word "squads" was mentioned, which indicated that perhaps more people than what he saw here were involved. What was going on?

He was about to thank this fellow for his hospitality, when suddenly, the woman he had previously enlarged had tried to re-enter, unused to her changed size. Whoops.

Cecil paused, before raising one hand to his mouth to bite his nails nervously, averting his gaze. It was all good though until Maximos fingered him as the culprit.

"I, ah... ... ... dismiss enlarge person." With that, Twitch would find herself returning to her normal height over the course of about two or three seconds.

Cecil looked hesitant for a moment, before standing up. "I'm sorry. I think... maybe I don't belong here. I'm sorry to trouble all of you." he started, already too quick to apologize.

...

But he would then turn to Quin after hearing what he said.

"Though, I have a spell called Feather Fall. We could descend from great height without the use of parachutes, which would help infiltrate where ever you're going. Right?"
