I saw something about someone might be coming to DC for vacation?
It's an awesome place if you know what to look for. If you come, hit up Germantown, it's a mecca of awesome food and stores. The Spy Museum around 7th street and... G I think (though I'm prolly a little off) is awsome especially if you do their interactive "Spy Game". You get to take on the persona of another person and see if you can make it through with your cover intact. There are also the other staples of the capital and what not, museums, art galleries, monuments, just stay away from south east DC unless you want to get raped and then stabbed. Don't drive through there for kicks either even if you've got a crap car. If you stop at a stop sign or red light after dark you're done... but that's the only area to really worry about. You might stop by a restaurant called Asia Nine on 9th and E; it's pan-asian cuisine, a bit on the expensive side (though still cheap for DC) that's delicious. I know the owner so I'm a little partial but it's still a great place.
Also, if you're going to go there, I actually recommend staying in a hotel in Old Town Alexandria (Virginia) and riding the metro in. It's cheaper and Old Town is awesome. I live there so I can point you to some neat cubby-hole places biggrin

-Museum Tip: The Spy Museum is the only museum in DC you have to pay for.
As for sleeping quarters I may end up staying at my uncle who lives about an hour and half away. Hence why I think Philly would be a better idea because it's only half an hour away from his house and rent is free.

You do have to pay, but it's worth every penny. They have a cafe and gift shop also.
And I haven't been to Philly (to look around) since I was... 12ish? So other than making speed runs out there for subs, I don't know much about it.
Anyone else done a Philly Dash? (Called up a bunch of friends, jumped in cars [grouping up of course] and then driving to Philly to get a sub from a particular shop or stand and back before the others.)
@Aly : Oh yeah? Neat biggrin
