Rex Holans, Son of Hermes Rex slowly walked through the cabin. His head was still swimming from that ride with Emma. Needing a distraction to ease his head, Rex began looking at everyone in the cabin. He saw Brenn against the wall and remembered he had her bag. Rex quickly went under his bed and grabbed her bag. After patting off some of the dust, he walked it over to Brenn. "Here, sorry about hiding it like that. But you can never be too careful," he apologized, giving a warm smile with it. As Brenn grabbed the bag back, Rex sat next to her. So, tell me about yourself. Like, what's your story for being here?" Rex asked, then realized what he said. "Oh, I meant only if you want to..." he explained. Now, he felt slightly awkward about the whole incident. Not wanting to make this any more awkward, Rex began to get up and walking to his own bed. His head still hurt, so he figured some sleep may do him some good. ((I'm barely going to be osting. I got grounded, and I have no clue for how long.))

Μπρεναν, θυγατέρα από ερμής | Brennan Mathisen, Daughter of Hermes Brenn watched him begin to get up. She didn't know whether or not to go after him, a split second's hesitation causing her to notice that he didn't look too good. Well, he has been acting as the one-man welcome wagon to all the new campers, she thought, watching him make his way unsteadily to the bed. She laughed to herself silently; not at his obvious malcontent, but at the fact that his bed had really been his destination from the moment they had met. She remembered him trying to get some sleep on more than one occasion.
"Hang on a sec!" She made an effort to speak in a lower register that would still carry across the noisy room. It was less crowded than before, given that many people were exploring the grounds or had been claimed by now, but there was always a prevailing sense of activity in the cabin. It wasn't, she supposed, a good place to be if you wanted regular sleep. Walking over to his bed, she saw the way that he carried himself. She fiddled around in one of the pockets of her bag, ignoring the small pang in her chest at the loss of the familiar feeling of rope and stone of her mother's charm against her fingers. She had no pills to speak of; something had told her they wouldn't be received very well by the camp staff. Taking her bottle of stale water, she went to dump it outside the window. She walked back to the sink in the bathroom and filled it with fresh water. As the water filled, she paused to look at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were a little red, and eyelashes damp from the frustration down at the lake. The rest she had taken by the tree had resulted in grass and dirt stains on her knees, and felt thankful that she had had the presence of mind to wear her black shorts instead of jeans. Her hair was a bit frizzy from the humidity; the sleeves of her t-shirt rolled up to accommodate the hot weather.
Sighing, she put the cap back on the water, noticing the muscle in her arms tensing with the action. She had at one point worked out almost daily for them, running, walking, any form of activity aside from team sports, due to her inattentiveness. But now as she noticed the other girls in camp, she suddenly felt self-conscious. They were by no means weaker than she was, but where she had visible muscle, they had more slender, flexible limbs. Closing the door to the bathroom she quickly removed her white t-shirt and pulled on a navy blue one with long sleeves, and pulled some jeans on. Rubbing her upper arms with a lingering feeling of unease, she walked back to where Rex was on the bed. Handing him the water bottle, she sat on the bed beside him, sitting in what her mother had called a "masculine" way; her feet firmly planted on the floor a shoulder width apart, and her forearms resting just above her knees.
"Y'know, I don't mind talking about myself," she said with a half smile. She fought the urge to roll her sleeves up and settled for clasping her hands in the space between her legs. "But come to think of it, I hardly know anything about you," she shook a strand of hair from her hazel eyes. Meeting his tired-looking blue-grey ones, she smiled fully, and laughed. "You look like you've been hit over the head with a two-by-four", she said jokingly. This lighter tone came more naturally to her, and she was able to relax the tense feeling weighing down her shoulders.

On my way back to my cabin, I saw Rex sitting on his bed talking to a girl. Please don't tell anyone, thought to myself. As if it wasn't embarssing enough with just Rex knowing what had gone on, the last thing I needed was for the whole camp to know. I ran quickly past the Hermes cabin fighting back tears.

ω Awesome dude with ear-phones ωOngaku entered the cabin listening to Linkin Park the Great Divide. He was on the chrous part of the song and sang aling with it with a steady deep voice as a baritone.
"Give me reason To prove me wrong And wash these memory clean
Let the thoughts cross the distance in your eyes"
Then he stopped and noticed where he was at. Ongaku searched for bed then gave up at searching and slowly sat in the orner listening to his music.Slowly, he started making head notion and rock out signs with his finger. He turned up the volume to 9/10, which was loud enough for the whole hermes cabin to hear.

Rex Holans, Son of Hermes Rex rolled over in his bed and took the water from Brenn. He muttered his thanks. "Well, my story is the same as most people's here," Rex began his tale of how he got to camp. Pausing, he noticed the music playing. I'll deal with that in a second, Rex thought. "Anyways, I ran away at the age of 13. Long story behing that... So, one night, I was attacked by these older kids, but they weren't really kids. Turns out, they were really monsters. Lucky for me, a saytr saved my butt." He sighed as he finished his story. "Hold on for a sec, Brenn." Rex quickly said as he got up. His head was pounding, and that music from the new kid was not helping at all. Rex walked over to the kid with a determined look in his eyes. "Dude, mind killing the music? Not really needed around here. It's noisy enough as is." Rex liked the music, but it was just killing his head right now. If he sounded hostile, he didn't mean to, he just wanted to have a little down time.

Μπρεναν, θυγατέρα από ερμής | Brennan Mathisen, Daughter of Hermes She watched him walk back to the bed after telling the kid with the music to turn it down. Looks like I was right about the headache, she thought as he sat back on the bed. She was surprised at his story. Being alone for four years sounded pretty...harsh. She remembered at the worst of times being anxious to leave the house after this last semester of school, to be off on her own and free to live as she wanted. But she had always been a logical objective thinker, and so these wishes only ever occupied a small part of her mind.
Brenn was proud, she guessed, of her way to break apart people's words, and read what was inside. He was an honest person from first look, and after knowing him for a day she had no doubt in that, but still....
"What made you leave your house at such a young age?" Her voice belied any concern that she felt. It always got to her how lucky she was compared to others. This constant feeling of having too much, love from her mother, a steady source of income...She never felt like she was one of the people who deserved to feel sad. After a pause, she spoke up again. "I guess I should share too," she said as she looked back down at her hands, then at the space around the window.
"I never left my house," she began, pausing to think. "I couldn't leave my mother or anything, so I stuck around. I don't think that I was too much of a bother, but she never mentioned it much," she laughed quietly. "Because I couldn't leave--and didn't want to--I decided that I needed to get stronger in order to stay," she was aware of her arms again as she rubbed her left bicep. And I paid for that with any form of femininity I really had left, she thought. She wasn't one for self-depreciation by any means, but being called a boy outright had started to sting ever since starting high school.
She felt bad suddenly for saying too much. This guy's been on his own since he was little, she thought, reprimanding herself. She wouldn't let herself ever feel self-pity that she didn't really deserve. There were people that never complained, like her mother, who had had a difficult time. Her mother never let onto that when she was a child though, and since that time when she was twelve, and had to get a part-time job to help out, she decided to herself that she wasn't going to be selfish, in her sense of the word. Any and all bad feelings that she felt, she pushed under the surface until they stayed there, and focused on being a happy person and a good friend to others. It wasn't hard for her, she was a genuinely happy person.
The smile had slowly faded to a far off look as she subconsciously rubbed her sleeve on the inside of her arm, the fabric rubbing against faint raised vertical lines. They were barely visible, and she never stood still long enough for people to notice when she wore short sleeves. They weren't marks for attention, but to deal with stress, turning mental pain into the physical kind that she knew how to deal with. She didn't fit the stereotype, she was happy and had a stable life. So she flew under the radar, and was glad for it.

ω Awesome dude with ear-phones ωOngaku heard noise surprisingly from another then turned off his i-pod. Then he heard the guys reply. "Oh, I'm sorry dude, I didn't mean to cause pain or disturbance to you." he said softly. Slolwy, he looked down and wondered, if he cause his parents pain. "That's probably why, they left me at the orphanage." he said unconsiously. Afterwards, he looked at the girl and gave her a very sadistic smile. "Some story." said caringly. After that, he started juggling his i-pod then took off the head-phones slowly. "Oh, by the way my name is Ongaku, nice to meet the daughters and sons of the Hermes cabin. It's a pleasure to meet you all." he said nicely. He shook hands with the boy and girl he was speaking to then took a bow.

Seles Faulkner: Undetermined
Seles walked into Hermes's cabin, a denim duffle bag slung over her right shoulder and a tear in her pale cream dress which her mother had given her the week before. Fresh in camp Seles had no clue how people here acted towards new kids. Were they nice? Did they judge new people on a monster killing record? Did they snicker if you knew just about nothing about mythology? Did they have some acceptance test they made new kids go through? Questions raced through her mind with no appearent pattern. Seles really wasn't scared about who her dad was or even if she had siblings, but she didn't want to be alone. For the first time since she was a little girl Seles had small hope of having friends. She despertly wanted to make new friends who she didn't have to leave like she did every other child-hood friend. In a strange sense Seles felt anxeious about her newfound freedom.
After shuffeling to the center of the room Seles gave a weak smile and raised her left hand in a wave, "Hello..." she started after waiting for a gap in the ensuing conversation, "I'm new here. My name's Seles and I'm undetermined." Seles had only the vaugest idea what 'undetermined' meant, but she knew that she could stay in this cabin untill she was 'determined'. From what she quessed that meant that she'd have to wait untill her dad showed up or showed some sign or another. I wonder how I'll know if I'm claimed. Will there be come glowing light and a magic horse that delevers some message or will it be something like thunder? Seles thought as she let her bag fall to the floor with a thump. Since Seles's mom moved to New York she didn't bring all her stuff, only some mismatched clothing and her secret stash of sweets.

Μπρεναν, θυγατέρα από ερμής | Brennan Mathisen, Daughter of Hermes Looks like it might pick up in here again, Brenn thought as she looked up to see the new campers. She felt a pang of guilty humor as she realized that another mob of new people in the cabin wouldn't do wonders for her brother's headache. As half her mouth quirked in a smile she waved at Seles from the bed. "Hey, nice to meet you," she said, being careful to watch her volume.
She looked over the girl. All of the female campers she had seen so far were pretty, and this one was no exception, she thought as she looked the girl over. The first thing Brenn really noticed was her curly hair, the light brown colour reflecting in her similarly coloured eyes. She was bound to be shorter than her own five feet ten inches, but the girl was younger than her by the looks of it, and looked pretty out of sorts just standing in the middle of the room. "I don't bite, but I can't speak for this guy here," she said jokingly, her half-smile breaking into a grin. With her loose navy blue shirt and heavily-pocketed faded jeans, coupled with her naturally androgynous figure, Brenn must've still looked like a boy for the most part. Thinking back to the Hephaestus kid from earlier, an idea sparked in the back of her mind. I wonder if I can fool her as well, she thought with another smile as she stood up, brushing some of the grass that was still clinging to the fabric of her jeans.
This girl was doing a stereotypical "new kid" gesture, standing in the middle of the room waving shyly. Brenn had to admire someone of her apparent nature for addressing the whole cabin like that, even if it had died down by a far cry since earlier. Thinking back to her first day at camp, which wasn't all that long ago, she was pretty apathetic about the whole thing, she realized with amusement. Walking over, she contemplated how to approach the girl. She was used to surrounding herself with male friends, and shaking hands seemed...inappropriate. Forgetting that last thought, she held out her hand for the girl to shake, before bending over off to the side to tie her shoe, eying the denim bag under the cover of a few locks of her shaggy hair. Straightening up, she made her way back to the edge of the bed she was sitting on a few feet away. "Make sure you watch your stuff in here, alright?" Brenn thanked her luck that she could keep a straight face, as she slipped the hair clip she'd swiped from the girl's bag into her pocket unnoticed. I hope she has a sense of humor, Brenn thought. She has full intentions of giving it back to her. The only person who could have spotted it would have been the only other Hermes kid in the room, who was operating at less than one-hundred percent at that moment.
It's only a small thing that she'll probably notice later, but it's only with friendly intentions... She thought as the looked at the girl's predominately golden brown features again. She was actually kind of cute, albeit one of the younger campers in the space. Rubbing the back of her neck under her ash-colored hair, she blinked a few times to try and erase that last thought from her head.
((Having a huge character picture is pretty good incentive to type more detail. It's taking me twice as long though...))

Ash; unclaimed
Ash woke up when the music started playing. She moaned in a teenage way, still half asleep. Who the hell started playing that?! She thought angrily. She was about to get up, to shout at the dickhead who was playing the music, but she saw Rex get up to tell him to turn it off. He sounded weary. Ash wanted to talk to him, but wasn't she he wanted to talk to her. Sighing in regret, she lay down to go back to sleep, but the noise was unbearable! Growling, she got up and started to straightened her clothes.

Rex Holans, Son of Hermes Rex looked around the cabin, trying to obsorb all that was happening. Sighing, he got up to introduce himself. First, walking over to Ongaku, he said, "I'm Rex. Nice to meet you." He held the handshake a little bit longer and smiled slightly. "Now, if you'll excuse me." Rex walked next to Brenn, just as she made the biting joke. "Hey, why make the new kid worry about that?" Rex smiled at the new girl who had introduced herself as Seles. It was more of a wolfish grin and made a slight biting motion and laughed at it. Deciding that he should introduce himself now, Rex continued smiling and said, "I'm Rex. Welcome to the Hermes cabin. A bit cramped here, but I like it that way." Then realizing he'd given the other kid a shorter introduction, he stepped back so he coud address them both. "Okay, since you two are new, you're going to be using the beds off to that side," Rex said, loud enough for both of them and nodded his head to the unclaimed side of the cabin. Smiling, Rex saw Ash out of the corner of his eye. She seemed busy, so he decided not to bother her. Maybe another time, Rex decided. Striding over to his bunk, he sat down and grabbed his swords. It had been ages since he touched them. He decided now was a good aa time as any to clean them up. Grabbing a cloth, Rex started wiping down one blade, singing to himself.

ℭ assadee walked into the Hermes cabin quietly as she listened to her iPod. The music wasn't loud at all, that was unless you were standing directly beside her. She was listening to Bullet For My Valentine as she looked around and saw that one of the few places left to sit was next to a boy with black hair(Ongaku). Cassadee let out a small sigh before she sat down, wincing slightly when she leaned against the wall. She had just gotten to camp, and had only escaped her father's beatings the past month. Cassadee carefuly rubbed her arm before she unconciouusly winced when she touched a really bad bruise. Damn father! She thought as she let out a sigh as she sat there listening to her music. ☆═━┈┈━═☆

Seles Faulkner: Undetermined
Seles smiled half-heartly at the two Hermes kids who had brought out the welcome wagon. They seemed nice, but the girl's actions towards her were confusing. She held out her hand as if she wanted to shake hands and then went to tie her shoes before warning her about Hermes's kids taking her stuff. "Why warn me now?" Seles muttered under her breath. She wanted to make friends, but she wasn't going to fake stupidity. The girl's shoe looked fine as she came over to Seles so why tie it next to her bag and then warn her about their theifery? Seles felt a little pang of distrust before she nodded at the boy named Rex who told her where she was going to be sleeping. Once again Seles felt happy that her first day seemed fairily fun, but she still wanted to check if anything was taked from her bag. The only things in there were two pairs of jeans, a hair brush, an annoying graphic tee, about seven cupcakes and three bags of sweets, and her hair pin givin to her during her sleep. The only thing even worth taking would be the hair pin, especially since something its size would be easy to hide.
Smiling now, Seles bent over and picked up her bag. She didn't open it untill she reached her new bunk which was next to an angry girl. Seles gently put the bag down and had an idea. She could kill two birds with a single stone! Practically singing Seles opened her bag and silently took the cloths and hair brush out. She was right, her hair pin was missing! Seles still didn't want to call the girl out though, so she brought out what she wanted to share: her mother's freshly made cupcakes. "Do you guys want a cupcake? My mom makes the best cupcakes! They almost melt in your mouth!" Seles asked happily as she held out a german chocolate cupcake, sprinkles and fudge frosting layered on top. "I have more flavors here in my baggie. Do you want one?" She asked the girl who just came into the cabin.
I know what you mean! I'm too tired to go beyond the picture and I have school.

ω Awesome dude with ear-phones ωOngaku made gestures towards Rex with his head and facial expressions that he understood perfectly well. He heard what Brenn said and made a slight light strawberry blush. Then, there was a girl with an i-pod sitting beside him, Ongaku made a light smile towards her then started leaning against the wall in ponder. A question pondered in his head about his parents. He pondered about his parents and are they safe or not. I mean, believe it or not he could probably careless since they abandoned him. though, he couldn't help but wonder, is his mom sweet or is his dad strong and vigorous. These questions overflowed his head and he thought so hard, his head started pounding."Maybe I should forget about it. It would be nice to now who are they and whether or not if they love me." he though. When he was a kid, he always saw people get adopted from the orphanage and was always envious. He thought, 'Why not me?' Though, he couldn't answer that question for himself, so that's why he came, to search for answers.
