Merem lifted her up and lay on the bed with her.

The little rat chased after the man.

The man hurried, going to set up the trap first in a bush where it would be safe from people. He stood up, pulling out the matches and getting ready to start the fire, he was hoping it would be good enough to make Merem come outside with Miranda.

Miranda nuzzled Merem before getting comfortable again. She looked at him before getting ready to fall asleep.

Merem smiled to the dragon and closed his eyes.

The rat went over to the trap while he was distracted and started chewing on the breakable parts of it, essentially rendering the trap useless.

The man pushed a pile of trash against the side of the hotel, he lit the trash and hurried away.

Miranda slept quietly, save for a moment when she sneezed and squeaked.

The rat then scurried into a bush.

"What's wrong little one?" Merem asked her.

The man watched as the building caught fire, he stayed back, not wanting to be seen by Merem or any onlookers.

Miranda looked at Merem before laying her head back down. She could smell fire, but it didnt seem like a big deal. Fires were great to her.

Fires were not that big of a deal to Merem either but he did show more concern, "Lets' get out of here little one," He said. People were beginning to evacuate as fast as they could.

Miranda looked around, before looking up at Merem. she squeaked, before snapping at people who got to close. It made her nervous, and she started to make threatening noises.

Merem held Miranda close as he went to a rear exit to the building.

Miranda looked at Merem, still on edge from the fact that there had been alot of people. She looked around outside, Something smelled good again. she looked at Merem, wanting to go find it.

"Maybe we should leave now..." Merem said. He was thinking about taking advantage of the confusion.

Miranda looked around, seeing the fire spread quickly. The stick thingy was probably gone now, it couldn't even stand against her little bursts of fire. She doubted that it would last in that. Miranda looked at Merem, calmer once she realized that they weren't going to be crowded again.

Merem went to the streets and started to walk away from the mess.

Miranda wiggled, before deciding that she was ok with how she was held. She looked at Merem before starting to look around. Miranda squeaked, She wondered if Merem had any meat on him. It seemed like something to have when you were awake.

"Hungry little one?" Merem said. He took out a little piece of dried meat and handed it to her, "Here you go. That should tide you over until we get to another town."
