Gil nodded "It's lovely thank you" he said helping himself to a few strawberries "Shame they make good warriors when trained, maybe not quite on par with their distant lupine cousins but certainly a formidable foe, in the northern reaches it's common practice to train dogs to fight since it's so common to travel in the wild with them there" he said
Itaka shook his head "Nah I think she's just happy to see her friends again" he said watching as an annoyed Irelia let out a small fireball in warning to Chobi earning her a loud warning kweh from Boris. Itaka reached up to pet the black chocobo who let out an exasperated kweh "Ah well I'm sure fire demons probably have different standards of hygiene if that's the case though maybe they are fine for washing if the water is hot enough like a hot spring or something" he said.

Seph frowned watching for a moment ready to jump in should a fight break out "I also guess that Chobi really is a bossy chocobo too since she used to chase Boco around like that also. The only thing missing from this place is a chicobo but its not the right season for hatching those" she decided pulling Itaka closer to her with her tail "Now, what do you say to a little riding and you can have another go at racing me, not that its likely you'll win"

Yuudai nodded in agreement helping himself after Gil "Well your right there and even if you don't want them fighting, they do have other uses. Like searching for things and keeping watch and for pulling things depending on the size"
Satoshi sighed shaking her head "Just because something is useful, it doesn't mean its suited for battle. Some dogs, like Miyu for example wouldn't last five minutes trying to so anything" she answered snickering a little as the poodle turned her head wondering why her name was mentioned.
"Hey lay off Miyu a little, she's still a lovely dog. Just not of a violent nature and appreciates the finer things in life" Yuki tutted petting the confused dog

Gil nodded "Plus they are largely sled dogs up there for fast transport since even if they had the resources to support airships there's few ones that could get about with all the weather up there" he said trying the ice cream "Though sure she's a lovely dog" he said
Itaka shook his head "Course it's unlikely I'll win, your chocobo is a golden chocobo bred for racing, none of these others have been on a racetrack thats for sure" he said "Hardly a fair race in fact did you know gold chocobos are banned in some circuits to keep the game fair" he said.

Seph shook her head leaning over Itaka for a moment while she batted away a nearby bee "Well actually I wasn't going to suggest that we use Chobi or boris and they can just spectate. That would be fairer and I didn't know that but it doesn't surprise me all that much. Some race courses I know have tracks and events for gold chocobos only though" she recalled.

"It's not just the weather, its the all round low temperatures that freeze up the engines so they can barely fly. Something like that anyway, last time I went somwhere that cold a dwarf tried to explain it to me but I didn't get most of what was being said" Yuki admitted between mouthfulls "Dwarves... now they are funny ones, never expected to have any as fans"
Satoshi rolled her eyes ignoring the last comment "Well if dwarven airships take a beating in the very cold weather then I'll believe they arent very good. Guess with ours the fact we have a firedemon on board will prove useful one day though I would like to try the sled dog thing one day, it looks quite fun"

Gil ate some ice cream catching Satoshi's response to her mother and deciding not to comment as well "You shouldn't say that about Dwarven airships, the one we travel in is of dwarven make, it's peculiar how they make so many considering how terrified of the sky they are. Moogles tend to make more transport and casual vehicles while dwarves with their access to more metal tend to build more armoured crafts, there's quite a rivalry between the dwarves and moogles in their crafts." he said.
Itaka chuckled "If you think Chobi wouldn't get too jealous sure, though Boris isn't an exceptional racer" he said prompting a surprised kweh from the black chocobo beside him. "Hey now you're still the most important chocobo on the farm" he added petting him "Though yeah you need to be a really high class chocobo to race a gold chocobo on foot and the gold chocobo race classes I hear are going to start incorporating flying segments soon to spice up the betting" he said.

Seph snickered watching Chobi who soon stared after noticing "Well Chobi's gotta learn she can't have my attention all the time if she does get a little jealous though I would like to try my luck racing on.... that one" she decided pointing to one of the green ones. "And yeah they do stuff to spice up races all the time, at one point they even tried allowing combat to sabotage the chances of other players but that one got attacked very quickly for obvious reasons so didn't last long"

Yuki paused stopping for a moment to speak with Haru whos attention from across the table suddenly picked up "Well what do you know, must have done something right to get his attention. He said that the moogle armies foucs more on stealth based airships and fast ones with less firepower but more accurate weapons, using their lack of heavy materials to their advantage. Yeah he likes airships" she added happy to see what she thought was a little progress.
"Well congrats, you got more out of my brother in a day than I have in months" Satoshi whispered just as surprised as her mother was "Moogles and dwarves do probably compete just like how the elves and nu mou compete over magic. Though the moogles I personally think are the better ones. And my opinion isn't at all influenced by their cuteness"

Gil smiled whispering to Satoshi "I didn't think he understood much Agralian, surprised he understood that" he mumbled before finishing his ice cream "Well the I'm sure the moogles would appreciate that though yes the moogle's stealthships are quite a sight to behold" he said sensing an opportunity to connect more with Haru "They go incredibly smoothly to ride in, you would hardly know they were moving and while they aren't the fastest ships in the world it's fascinating how their gadgeteers and time mages have built stealth fields onto the ships. However it's not fair to disregard the dwarven talents, as it's not just heavier materials they have meaning more durable airships but they also have the greatest supply of blackstone and gunpowder and god knows what other explosive minerals they have down in their mines" he said scratching his "It's been so long since the dwarves have had a war I dread to think what secrets they have to unveil" he shrugged.
Oassu reached out and tipped a ladel off it's rack leading it to clatter noisily on the floor as he left the room before leaving a clone with a small note outside the kitchen before heading to their room.
Itaka smiled "Little Gregor? He's a young fellow but sure he can run might be a bit confused no one really rides with him" he said "And I remember those rules, a bunch of chocobo owners myself included pulled out our chocobos in protest against the new rules" he said looking around the chocobos "I'll take Annabelle the white one then" he said standing up and whistling causing the chocobos to gather round "I'm still trying to get a couple of new chocobos to complete my collection, purple and silver breeds are increasingly rare and no one has quite figured out how to breed them yet, it might just be a genetic mutation but will need to see" he said petting all the chocobos as they gathered around while Arelia butted her way to the front looking for food.

Seph scratcher her head but took a step back from Arelia hoping she would get the hint there was no food to be had "Shame you don't ride with him much, its a great way to bond with your chocobo and good for nice little riverwalks" she remarked petting Chobi then Gregor. "Still good luck getting a real silver, not even sure they still exist in the wild and most of the ones you see are just selectively bred from black and white chocobos"

Satoshi shrugged "Well in times of war who knows what hidden weapons each side is going to pull out. Anyway I don't think he does know Agralian but...well I'm geussing he understood what airship is and various parts such as an engine is pretty much identical to our word equivelent. He's a smart kid too so could piece bits together I'm sure" she whispered waiting for Yuuki to translate back and forth stopping for a moment while she found the appropriate word for 'blackstone'.
There was a sudden moment of quietness before Yuki finally translated back to Gil "He says actually the dwarved announced recently that their next big project was making airships that could run on alternative fuels. Like ones that can run on water and sunlightr but I can't see that happening anythime soon sice they do all their buildingwork underground"
Felina smiled quickly wrapping up her conversation taking the hint to move on leaving behind a bunch of slightly annoyed kitchen staff slightly annoyed at the fact they had to cook extra to accommodate for Felina's new dieting habbits. "So... how did it go" she whispered upon rejoining her clone

Gil scratched his chin "Sounds interesting though they have plenty of materials underground rather than need alternative fuels, though they hardly fly their own airships, terrified of the sky I hear though there's plenty of underground rivers down there you know" he said "Still credit to the dwarves for their efforts, sometimes I feel they must be so handicapped having no magic to use in their projects" he muttered
The clone shrugged handing Felina a small note "I went back to our room, had to sneak the stuff out, left this clone so as not to look suspicious wandering alone just escort him back to the room and things will be cool" The clone nodded offering his arm to link with Felina to walk
Itaka nodded watching as Gregor hopped briefly before spinning around and running into a little forward roll. "He's an odd one but yeah it's not even a sure thing from black and white, think some scientist folks are still checking if it's a random gene thing" he sighed petting Annabelle "Still been trying to get Annabelle and Boris to breed for a while but it just doesn't seem to stick, oh well" he said watching as the chocobos began to lose interest as he mounted Annabelle.

Seph snickered glancing at Borris and Annabelle "Well I guess they just don't like eachother in that way, maybe if Boris waasn't such a stubborn bird...." she trailed off as she cautiously mounted Gregor. "Why do I get the feeling he might buck and make me regret choosing him. And please don't give me that look Chobi, you're still my number one bird" she added in response to a surprised kweh from her pet followed by a glare at Gregor.

Satoshi scratched her head going for second helpings "Makes you wonder why they focus so much on airships when they rarely give themselves the chance to use them unless some of the drarven cities are really as deep and talll as the legends claim.
"Well it's more practical I guess if airships don't need fuel and constant refilling to travel about which would mean their airships would be worth more I gues" Yuki suggested before once again translating offering Haru the opportunity to speak, "Apparently stuff like that is of no interest to them personally but its the new growing trend across the airship industry so they've got to go with the fashion if they want some easy profits"
Felina scratched her head looking at the note and then the clone "Ok sounds like a plan... now shall we walk? Though I guess your not able to talk which is a shame because it would have made better company. Anyway allow me to escourt you the short distence that is to my room" she added leading the clone up the stairway.
