Leaf growled, but took the opportunity of the half blind monster to swim past and away. Behind the creture it was very dark, and Leaf had a hard time seeing more than a few feet in front of her face. The passage widened into what Leaf assumed was a chamber of sorts. Above them shimmered the surface of the water. She swam up towards this, hopefully to get soem light and a better look around.

"Let's put it this way. There is a part of me that I wouldn't mind you having, since when I am dead I won't need it. I am sure as a god you could find a use for my heart, I certainly wouldn't want it to go to waist." Being a potions maker, she understood how some..ingrediants..were difficult to get. She had spoken true, if would pain her spirit to know her body had been waisted.

She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and fell to her knees. It had taken mre strength than she realized to keep her body still. "Not what. Who. I wouldn't mind if if you remained Cedric."

"I don't know if love can be explained with words." She was feeling more relaxed right now, thought she wasn't certain why. She took a few breaths, calmed herself down. "Does it matter? Do you have to put love into words? Isn't it much more pure if we just feel it?"

"Love. love is crawling there, when you can't walk. It's chasing what you want, rather than settling for what you think you deserve. It's caring for someone else more than you care for yourself. it's asking for help, despite self-doubt, embarassment or fear. Self-doubt, confusion..those fade away. Love endures."

Okay Onyx had to comment. before he did something liek try adn toss the red shard in his hand through Cedric's windpipe.

"Loving someone is baring your soul, no matter how dark, or how hurt, or how frightened you are to them. It's being willing to give everything, anything, just to look at them one more time. to see the color of thier eyes, the softness of a smile, the scent of thier perfume. To be without the one you love is a fate worse than death. It is a slow pain, that eats away at your insides until it leaves a husk of a soul that knows only pain until the mortal body passes away."

Malik only grinned lightly. Of course she would say something like that.

"Very well."

And he vanished, appearing a little off to her right, and arced that blade down at her hip, pushing forward with the motion to combine and turn the stabbing motion into a cut that could probably slic into her chest fairly easily.

Like any good fighter of her plane, she was taught to move with a blade and not against it. Rather than make any move forward, move back with the assulting blade, which is what she did, easily bending away with the motion and bringing her own up to catch and stop him, making that wonderful sound of singing mithril. A look at him a moment with a smirk before starting into her tactics. Get close and stay close. Thus jolting at him, using her blade on his as a guide to get there before into her normal series of quick strike close quarter push back techniques. Isleandra was nto afraid to get into anyone's space.

"It is possible that they were using protection from the gods themselves. Just because Lloth is gone means nothing. I have found another to patron me, why wouldn't they? And you and I both know that when a god decides to allow a mortal their blessing of protection or a spell, even your runics are no match for them. A god or highly powerful cloaking spell could trick your runics. By the way, Vesendar apologizes for what occurred and I've got someone keeping an eye out for any new developments regarding the five who ambushed you or any other groups that choose to strike out on their own. Just...don't work too hard, okay? I don't want to have to put you back on bedrest, but I will if I have to."

Lharika had been up for a while, getting everything ready to go for her little party. She was currently in the kitchen handing over her list for the food she wanted to eat. Everything was almost ready and she was so very excited. Broog was going to have so much fun. She walked into the library and surveyed it closely. All the tables and couch had been pushed to the sides and in the middle now sat a table set for tea and two chairs. One for her and a bigger stool for Broog. She wandered to the stairs leading down to the lower levels and cleared her throat. "Broog!"

Fin stabed his sword into the creature's back, across where he guess accurately the vertebrae was, and flipped himself over the fish before chasing after Leaf. He found her rather quickly, as the shimmering surface outlined her body. He seemed a little too interesting in looking at that silhouette. The surface was a rather bright place, obviously, with a single alter.

---------------

"How romantic, you want to give me your heart to use as I see fit. Ok, I'll take it." He said with his doublespeak tone. "It will be put to excellent use, I promise you." Something about the way he said that didn't sound right.

---------------

Cedric was in no way amused by Onxy's interruption, his eyes did not wish to turn from Aella's, but things did not work out that way. The elf looked at the winged Vah. "Please, if you are going to interrupt a conversation between a master and her servant, do not be rude about it."

Thus, Cedric sighed and faced Aella again. "Expressing love in words is required at times. Even if it is just a brief statement of affection, or an overbearing proclamation, people like to hear that they are loved by others, because people doubt their own feelings. Sometimes, they need to understand what the other is thinking about the feelings, or just feeling about the feeling before they can confess some crime, or talk about delicate issue."

"Today was my day to corner you, so that your feelings for me would retract in case tomorrow I am dead. For I do not see how I can keep up with the disaster that is about to befall us, without using my soul to stop it."

Leaf shook her hair when she reached the surface, whipping it around and shaking the water loose. Which relaly was useless, since she'd probably be underwater again soon anyway. The alter was in the middle of the chamber, sitting on top of a thick pillar. On top the alter stood a pedistle, but the pedistle was empty.

"Is there a possibility that someone got here before us?"

Meilikki might have been concerned by that statment, but then she decided it did not bother her what was actually done with the heart. Used to bring down the whole of Labyrinth, she didn't care. "I am hopeless, I think." Said with a smile.

Onyx showed himself and surprised her, and also frightened her. "Onyx!" Her initial reaction, again, was to run. Her heart fluttered with fear, this seemed a confrontation that she was not sure she could take. But then, she got angry.

"Onyx, where you listening this whole time!? Do I not get any privacy is this house?!"

Back to Cedric, all riled up again. "Well, you sure got me thinking about it now....wait, what do you mean by 'disaster'?" His words finally catching up with her.

Onyx glared at Cedric and shrugged at Aella.

"You get privacy. but if you wanted to talk in private, you shouldn't be out in the middle of the main hall, and you shouldn't have told orko to summon you to a meeting. he doesn't know the meaning of the words 'subtle' or 'discreet'. Not to mention I can't help that I have exceptionally good hearing, or that I blend into the shadows."

Except Isle didn't move Malik. he used the whole of the blade, from tip to hilt, to stop her strikes, and let her dance around. in fact he took strikes of his own, although his blade wasn't designed for inclose combat, using the hilt like a hammer end and the blade like a razor. though malik also used his elbows to strike, and was constantly testing her footwork with shin kicks and strikes and trips.

"I suppose." He sighed, running a hand through his hair and leaning back in his chair. He didn't pretend to understand all that he was feeling or that he knew how to deal with it all either. But a look up at her as she mentioned Vesendar. "I don't ask for Vesendar to apologize, that's formal 'don't hurt us' placating being shoved down my throat. I don't care. I'm fine about it." But so help that woman if she ever crossed his path again.

But he sighed, looking over to his son and remembered that he had to check his temper. It would do the boy no could to be exposed to any negativity right now. So red eyes wandered back to Zahara's own violet. "I'm done with work, and I'll behave." Quick find a subject change. "Those cookies are going to be gone before they're even made."

Malik was a lot like Kieran in his fighting, or so she thought. A lot bigger than her, had the body and strength to not let her push him back, unlike her fight with Galesen where she could push. Or at least he allowed her to thinking it the best option. Malik stood his ground on the other hand. Though yes she did notice that Malik couldn't get that blade to horribly good use with her so close. See? There was a reason she always fought close, she knew how to utilize the space, even with a longsword.

Though she eventually backed off a moment, brandishing her sword at him. "Damn, you aren't afraid to stand your ground against me. Then again you know I won't hurt you." She shrugged lightly twirling her blade a moment. Hm, how did one break through a drow's defense? Oh look she was going to have to think on this one.

"I know you didn't but it's not just for you. That place is scared to death of D'vinn's wrath crashing down on their heads. They aren't apologizing for you and they could care less if you were hurt or not. But you are connected to D'vinn and that makes you suddenly worth groveling too. It's rather sickening how political everything has become now that Lloth is out of the picture, isn't it? They kiss the a** of the one who can wipe them out." She shook her head in disgust and then glanced back over at Zykariel. "He knows better. The more batter he eats, the more likely a stomachache is goign to be and the less cookies he gets to eat later." She said the last part of that a little louder so Zykariel would hear and then looked back at Sevilin, "Think you can handle plopping dough balls on a cookie sheet or will that defeat you?"
PostPosted: Sat Jan 13, 2007 3:00 pm

Sevilin rolled his eyes slightly. Look another reason for Malik to play with a populace in some fashion. Meant Vesendar would be hovering and watching everything going on. But he waved a hadn dismissively about it all and sighed, going quiet a moment before folding up the map and tucking it into chainmail once more. He wasn't a happy man. "No I think I can handle that." Thus getting up and heading over to his son.

She knew he was upset but saw no way to make him feel better and deep down she felt he would be better off with his anger. That meant he was feeling like he was worth something and those bitches who attacked them should pay. She wasn't about to mess with progress so she stood and walked over to them instead. Handing Sevilin a spoon she said, "Just use this to get the shape and drop them onto the cookie sheet. Dough is a little easier to control than a liquid. And you," she said picking up Zykariel and setting him on the floor, "Are going to go wash your hands. How much of that dough did you eat?"

He looked a bit sheepish. "Umm, not that much?" He giggled and then walked to the sink but he couldn't reach it. "Mommy?"

She glanced over and shook her head. "Might be easier to use the bathroom sink but here we go." Lifting him up, she braced him between the counter and her leg and let him wash his hands. "You ate too much of that dough didn't you? Zykariel...you know your tummy is going to hurt later."

"Maybe not. I didn't eat that much of it, I promise."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 13, 2007 3:37 pm

"I can get past this part...it's the cooking part that doesn't go right." And indeed he knew what he was doing and doing it in that obessive perfect mannerism that he had like when he was cleaning. Though he did look back over to Zahara and Zykariel. Well...they really fell into the role of mother and son rather nicely and quickly now didn't they? See...it was a lot less taxing than the walk on eggshell thing they had going. Point was, kid was happy and that's all he cared about right now because the child didn't need that kind of drama.

She chuckled, "Patience is a good thing to have. Other than that you just need a feel for when its done and then you are set." She watched him and was once again hit with how precisely he did everything. It was amazing how compulsive he really was. She let Zykariel finish washing his hands and then walked over to stand beside him and gave her approval. "Very nice, Sevilin. Now just stick them in the oven. Zykariel and I will keep an eye on them so they don't get burnt."

"Tier'dal don't fear anyone but another Tier'dal."

A slight grin, resting his sword on his shoulder, before it whipped around and he started keeping her on the defense. the sword was in constant full fluid motion, strikes and parries and blocks worked seemlessly into the motions. it was an offense designed particularly for people like Isle.

Usually in Norrath, the Fier'dal rangers preferred short dual styles to the longsword or rapier. using gladius/dagger combinations. as a result, Tier'dal training incorperated offenses and defenses for such in-close combat styles.

And to make matters a bit more annoying for Isle, and just to show off, Malik would shadowstep around every once in while forcing the tides to flow like any ocean current.

Okay, shoving cookie in oven. Though he watched perplexed at the thing a moment. "And I do that do...and yes the temperature is right and everything and I don't wait too long." Yes but that didn't mean his cookies were okay when they were supposed to be. He did everything right...it just never worked. But he walked over to Zykariel, picking him up and plopping him on the table, going about checking him over again. After all, he hadn't done that today and he needed his reassurance.

"Correction." She jerked her free thumb at Piper. "You fear her." Oh she was a bold little thing wasn't she? But she didn't get much time to gloat now did she as he advanced on her, throwing her on defensive. Though Isle was more keep to duck or strife and avoid than to let herself be blade locked or let her blade do a lot of defending either.

Her drawn dagger did a lot of blocking if anything, but the little thing also seemed to be making visible misty cuts in the air as well when it was swung. Curious thing wasn't it? Though she didn't slow down long enough for Malik to even ask a question. That shadowstepping of his did her no good in putting up a battle rhytm, seeing as she couldn't keep him in her sights. He wanted to play that way did he? Well Isle could do that too...just in a different manner. "Fine we'll play on your terms." This the next oppotunity she got, much like Malik would do, she seemingly stepped out of visual existance. Let's see how he likes being attacked from practically anywhere.
