Malik set Malikhai down, and patted him on the shoulder.
"why don't you go ask her what she thinks. After all, I don't know all of your mother's thoughts yet. And don't forget you have other studies to do as well, and your new pat to take care of."

He chuckled, of course with a little cough to follow before ruffling his son's hair again. "Oh you'll be better, I'm quite sure of that." But his look turned up to Zahara as she came up with words of praise for the child herself. Of course she appreciated magic, she was a cleric. Though it seemed she took a serious not as she focused on Sevilin himself.
A tilt of his head at the woman before standing back up and leveling his eyes back to her from the height change. Lose her nerve? That sounded like one of those 'I've made an important decision' lines. Oh boy...what now? And why did she have to get a nerve when he wasn't up to par? But he nodded to her anyway. "Sure, we can talk."
Piper and Isle exchanged a look as Zahara got up. Piper smiled in that secretive fashion, to which Isle only blinked. Looked to Zahara and the direction she was headed, and then smiled as she drew conclusions. "Oh I get it...sure, no problem."
"Okay." And off toddled the child, passing Zahara on the way and on up to his mother who was still with Isle. As any little boy, he interposed himself right where he would be noticed, plopping himself in his mother's lap. "Didja see what I did?"
That meant conversation came to a breif stop when the child plopped in her lap and she wrapped her arms around him, pressing a kiss to his cheek. Always make a big deal out of the little things. "Yes I did and you were quite impressive, my little D'vinn. Pretty soon, you're going to be so good you're not going to need teachers anymore. In fact you may even be the teacher about it." A smile as the boy obviously basked in praise and enjoyed it muchly.
Isle of course followed up. "Oh yes, quite the little illusionist in the making. Why I dare say I'm so impressed, taking on magic acts at such a young age. Truely remarkable." Of course that was kind of true. After all, the kind of magic she and Piper held came with age.
So good to get the attention he wanted. Oh yes he was getting quite the ego boost. "Does that mean I'm big enough now mommy? Since I can do that and I'm really little then I gotta be big enough."
So much for an easy time with magics. "Oh you have to prove to me that you're big enough to handle all of your studies and such before I can tell you that my twilight." Ha, got around the question. Good for her.

Basking in the praise wasn't it nice? He looked up at his parents though as they came face to face and he glanced between them. "You two aren't going to start fighting again, are you?"
Zahara turned and looked at him. "No, we aren't going to fight. Come here, Zykariel." She watched the little boy hesitate for a moment then toddle over and she lifted him up into her arms and held him, braced against her hip. "You're getting so big, Kariel. Pretty soon you're going to be too big to be picked up anymore. But I need to talk to you as well, is that okay?" Thus turning and starting from the arena, walking all the way up to the main floor and then the nursery with the child in her hold, of course assuming Sevilin would follow. Needed for the child to be occupied for a few moments. She sat down on the bed with him, still holding him.
He frowned slightly at the thought that he wasn't going to be picked up but then it was okay because he was getting bigger. He immediately reached for a braid but it wasn't there so he locked onto the strings of her top instead. "Am I in trouble?" Surely she wasn't mad because he'd gotten waffles and pancakes for breakfast...right?
"No, you're not in trouble little one. I just need you to go play for a minute while I talk to your dad, okay?" She watched him as he pouted lightly then scrambled off the bed and over to the corner where Malikhai's toys were stacked. She turned her gaze over to Sevilin and then said softly, "I think I'd like to be Zykariel's mother."

Wow the kid picked up on that real fast, but Zahara took care of the answer before he even opened his mouth. But alright. Though it seemed she wanted to talk elsewhere and thus he followed her to where she lead. After all if it was something important, he wasn't going to let her get away with dancing around the subject. Seemed the nursery was thier destination.
He watched his son scramble off before he felt Zahara's eyes on him and that drew his attention back to her. And he titled his head at her as he processed her little statement. Keep the bitterness down at her word choice, try to be positive. These are positive steps aren't they? Yes. Another glance at Zykariel and then back to Zahara. "You think you'd like to be his mother?" A little stress on the key word in the sentence, but not maliciously stressed. After all, she thought she wanted to be before and that didn't pan out.

"Okay, let me rephrase. I know I want to be his mother. I thought for a long time I didn't or I couldn't but then I sort of got thrown intot he role when he got hurt and I realized something. I can't keep playing the fence adn debating on this, I have to decide once and for all what I'm goign to do. He's not getting any younger and I'm losing time." She glanced over at Zykariel playing and shook her head. "I can't imagine being away from him, I can't imagine not having him around. This week has been awful and you have no idea how excited I was to have him around again. That's the real reason I didn't want you to go home yesterday, aside from the fact I needed you nearby to check on you." Turning her gaze back to Sevilin she shrugged, "I know it's kind of late in life and I'm more or less admitting you were right but you were. I'm not my mother and if I'm going to insist that I am then I need to leave you alone completely because the possibility of corruption is going to always exist. I have to trust myself and you to stop me before I progress into the old ways if I start or get out of your life entirely. I can't imagine the latter so the former has to do."

Well that was news now wasn't it? He watched her a moment, absorbing what she was saying and merely just back to watching her for another moment. He searched her eyes for the sincerety that he had to know was there. But yes he would admit, it was pleasing to hear his words mimicked back and being admitted that he was indeed right. He took a breath and considered what he was going to say. "Well...it's good that you've had some revelations."
He crossed his arms and looked down a moment, perhaps gathering words that he wanted to say, perhaps not sure entirely what he wanted to say exactly. "Alright...you can be his mother. But...as much as I don't want to say it, I have to. You go back on what you said, just once...and I can't give you another chance. I'm sorry that's how it would be...but that's how it would be. I trust you though, to do things right."

She stared at him for a moment and shook her head. "Do you have any idea how scared I was when that boy hit the ground and I thought he might be gone for good? And then holding him while he was in so much pain...that was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I wanted to be the one who had gotten hurt, somehow take his pain from him but I couldn't. All I could do was make him feel better and it felt right. And then I started thinking about all those times that he had come to me for the same comfort that I gave him yesterday and I realized what an idiot I was being. I can't go back to the way it used to be. I wanted him when he was born, I was just too stubborn to realize it and now I've more or less wasted three years. I can't do that to him or myself anymore. But I need you to promise me that if I start to regress back into the old ways you will stop me by any means necessary. If you can't promise me that, then I can't stay."

"I live for that boy...when you ask me to promise what you ask, you don't have to worry about me not agreeing. I do not promise, I guarentee that if you start again, that I will be handling it so fast you won't even know what's happening. And as I said, you won't be getting another chance after that." He was adamant about that.
Looking to the boy then once more. "Believe me, you aren't the only one who knows you can mess up and has to restrain certian things." Giving a sigh and then nodding to him. "Well, aren't you going to go tell him?"

She didn't much like his tone of voice when it came to that guarantee and the finality of his statement but she couldn't blame him for feeling the way he did. If she was going to constantly regress, she shouldn't be around him anyway. Zykariel nor Sevilin needed that. She glanced towards the child and nodded, "I suppose I should. Zykariel? Would you come over here for a minute." She waited for the child to walk over and then picked him up and settled him between her and Sevilin on the bed. "I have a small question to ask you and it's okay if you say no. My feelings won't be hurt and I will still be proud of you okay?"
He peered up at her not really sure he liked the way this was going. Slowly he nodded before climbing into his father's lap. He felt better when he was sitting with Daddy. Things seemed to feel less dangerous and if she said something to upset him at least he could find comfort and consolation in his father.
Zahara knew it would be better if she just went ahead and asked him but she wasn't sure how to begin. How to explain to the child that she had been wrong for years and apologize for upsetting him so much. "If I had...if I decided to be your mother, would you like that? Would you want me to be?"
He glanced at her sharply. "As in my Mommy? Like Miss Piper?" he asked. "Like hugs and kisses and stuff? And you're really ready? Is that what you mean?"
She glanced at Sevilin uneasily and then back to the child and nodded. "Can I be your...mommy?"
He glanced up at his father then back to her and without another thought hurtled himself into her arms. "You always were, you just didn't know it." He wrapped his arms tightly around her neck and held on for dear life. "You can't change your mind," he said fiercely.
Her eyes widened and then her eyes softened and she wrapped her arms tightly around the little boy. "Never. And I'm sorry Zykariel. I'm sorry for making you wait so long..."
He snuggled his head into her shoulder. "Doesn't matter anymore. You're ready and I love you Mommy. I always have."
Speechless, she rubbed at his back and rested her head against his, slightly overwhelmed. He loved her? Always had? Even when she'd turned him away and made him wait or beg for comfort. Even when she'd consisitently hurt and upset him? That was a novel concept to her wasn't. "I...I love you too Zykariel." In that moment it hit her that she did. She loved the little boy more than she had ever thought possible and she couldn't imagine her life without him.
Zykariel pulled back and plopped a kiss on her lips before going back to his father's lap and hugging him too. "And I love you too Daddy! I love you both!" He giggled happily. Oh this was a good day. Magic and a Mommy all in one day.
"I don't know a whole lot about being a mother...so you might have to help me..."
"That's okay. All you gotta do is do exactly what you do now but you gotta love me and hug me when I cry and kiss me goodnight every single night. And Rawr too. And if you got any questions, just ask Miss Piper. She's been Malikhai's mommy forever so she'll know what to do."

He watched the exchange with a sort of satisfacetion. After all, his son was happy and that was the important part now wasn't it? It was good for Zahara too. After all, the woman was still young, she deserved her second chances that Sevilin himself would never have. Though it was amusing to watch her reaction to the boys terms and such. Sevilin had three years ago learned about that unconditional love that children seemed to have.
But he pet through his son's unruly hair and gave him a nod. "Love you too Zykariel." Wasn't he just so cute? Hugging the boy back he gave a chuckle that dissolved into a cough. Though wasn't it amusing as Zykariel provided solutions to any problem she may have. "I take it that means you're moving back in?"

Malik let his son and mother have some time, and a slight smirk about Zahara needing to talk to Sevilin. Ha. he was right and they knew it. Then back over to where Isle and Piper were sitting.
"Enjoy girltime? and why do i get the feeling I was a subject of discussion?"

Arthur shrugged off at Malik and said. "I was more interested in these guys in their first magic lesson, I'll be reading up either tonight or tomorrow at least..." So Arthur sat back as Sevilin and Malik went off to see their boys and just a moment Later Zahara pulled little Z and Sevilin away for some private chit-chat, Arthur looked at the female drow for a little before turning away and looking at the books in his lap before turning his gaze towards Isle, his lone blue eye watching her a little before he got up and wandered over to her and Isle. "So this is where you ladies were huh? Speak of anything interesting?"

Isle turned hey eyes up to Malik. "Because you are blue and bedroom habits and such came into conversation? Don't let it go to your head Malik, not like anyone can get a shot at you with Piper around. Even I'm wary to make a go at you." Which she chuckled to and got punched lightly in the arm for. "What? It's true." A little shrug. "Don't get to hear about Malik in that light too often." Then her eyes shifted to Galesen as he decided to join them. "Pillow talk, mostly."
He giggled at the girls and then looked to his father. "She said yes!"
"No I said we'll see."
"Close enough." Satisfied that somehow he had the upper hand in this situation. Long as he could still do magic and sword stuff he was good.
"No, it's not close enough." Ruffling the child's hair lightly with a smile before looking up to Malik. "We're women, we talk about intimate subjects and such because we can and have fun comparing various aspects?" Though narrowing her eyes at him in playful manner. "Proud that you were right and I had nothing to worry about except him using newfound tricks on me?"

Arthur grinned a little as he tucked the books underneath one arm while placing the other on his hip, so they were talking about pillow talk huh? He had to wonder if he was apart of that conversation after all out of the three women there he slept with two of them so they can compare notes. "Really? Hardly not a big surprise, most women do so anyway, not that there isn't anything wrong about it." Arthur didn't care what the others talked about really, it wasn't any of his business and so he let it go. "So what's everyone up to today?" He asked as he looked at the married couple and Isle, he had nothing better to ask about, though he found it funny that no one had asked him about his missing eyepatch; it was the main feature when anyone looked at his face but he placed it aside and would wait until someone asked.

"What's to be proud on that? I knew it before, I just get to rub it in now and say I told you so."
A smirk and glancing at Arthur.
"You. Arena."
then turning around and whistling.
"Get the Lycanthrope."
then over to arthur.
"Put your sword to use. can't kill him without silver, so you can cut him as much as you want."
Then a grin to his wife.
"Of course..with your permission, dear. And Isle, dear, rest assured if opportunity presented such a situation...I have no doubt you'd be after me like a chicken on a worm."
