Huh. How long have the "Quit Guild" and "Back to Registry" buttons been like that?

The "Quit Guild" button has always been like that, or similar I think. It probably got a minor update recently.

Yeah, but they are just officially releasing the anime in English. Which is why only people in English-speaking countries can do the quest? Sounds kinda dumb to me. I mean, if someone from a non-English speaking country hasn't seen it yet, they're just as likely to be influence to go buy it as an English-speaker is. And if they already own it, they certainly deserve the fanfare.
Ah. Another awesome feat of trollery lost to the hidden forums. I found it hilarious.I am a horrible person.
Is there a reason Wolffy is on Gaia but has an away message up?
I can't keep on task today. It takes me ten minutes to remember whatI was doing and another ten minutes to do so.

I think it's because Funimation only has rights to the English versions. Other companies might do it in Spanish/Portugese/French/whatever language... So I guess Funimation only wants to advertise to people who'll buy theirs, I suppose.
Somewhat relatedly, I'm rather annoyed that Vic Mignogna is going to be playing my favorite character. D:

I won't watch the anime anyways.
And yes. I've been arguing about it in SF. It all seems horribly dumb to me.
"But they might sell the English copies in Spain and then the Spanish licensors won't make any money!" I mean, if I wanted to see a movie so badly I didn't care if it was translated properly into my native tongue, I'm pretty sure I would have gotten some bootlegged fansubs by now.

I don't even think this has that profound of an effect on who buy what copies for whatever companies. It's not like we're selling them or airing the episodes or something.
...I've just been watching it on YouTube >>

Yeah, it doesn't. There's just some dipshit laws or something. Funimation can't market to people outside certain countries. Apparently marketing doesn't constitute ads on the internet (as long as the servers are in the US) but digital goods are considered "promotional items."
It's all ******** retarded.

Lady Pyre Is there a reason Wolffy is on Gaia but has an away message up? I was going to sleep, so I put an away message up. Then I decided to get that hat. That and I usually don't bother logging out/closing the tab so it probably says I'm online for awhile longer than I am. And yeah, it's all pretty dumb.

As silly as it is, just looking at Site Feedback is pissing me off. I seriously doubt Gaia thinks that English-speaking countries are superior, that some users deserve better treatment than others, etc. rolleyes

Yeah, sucks to be them but they can always use work arounds, proxies, etc.
It's dumb of them to pair up with Funimation and limit themselves like that (Yeah, because getting people pissed off at both Gaia and Funimation is a great idea) but they decided to do so to make money.
If I were a mod I wouldn't even bother processing anything having to do with international users doing the quest. I doubt Funimation will look too heavily into it in the first place.
