On seeing that the woman was a magic-wielder, Lily cursed under her breath, then then pointed at the woman, starting to unleash her own power. A word later, a stream of green magic shot towards the female; it was the same spell she'd used on the guard the other night. If it hit, the woman would be knocked unconscious.

Arlen moved to intercept the newcomer and to his surprise the man seemed to be targetting him. Knowing it would be foolish to fight the man unarmed in his condition he brought his knife out with his left hand, meeting the man's strike but having to stabilize his left arm with his right hand to overcome the recoil, the fatigue from last night still present to an extent.

The woman managed to field some of the magic, but it still weakened her considerably. She had blurry vision, her mind fogged as she tried to come up with another spell. It was failing her though, and a thud told her one man had already fallen. "Dammit..." she whispered, struggling to remain awake. The man's look was cold, and he moved back a bit, then moved in to make a horizontal slash. The man was big, but clearly not very experianced with the blade.

Lily smirked, seeing that her spell had been partially effective. With another whispered word, ropes made of her magic appeared and began to wrap around the woman; Lily's supply was draining quickly, however, so it didn't happen as fast as it was supposed too, offering the woman a small window of opportunity to escape.

Arlen was a bit confused. He was by no means an expert fighter, but even he could tell that without the element of surprise the man was no better than a ten year old swinging a stick. Shuffling closer to the man with the intent of finishing this quickly, he called the White Flame into his right hand and used it to grab the incoming sword, with the man's inexperience, and the magical fire healing the injury almost before it happened Arlen captured the blade and guided it over his head to get a clearer shot when he slashed the back of the man's hand, knowing the force would cause the hand to open reflexsively and the cut would cause him to want to keep it open.

The man cried out, his hand shooting open as he reeled backwards. He turned and ran, clearly not used to anyone testing his ability. Intimidation had been the name of the game. The woman snapped to attention, realizing she had to get out of here. Struggling to recall an asorbing spell, she muttered one, giving her time to stand up shakily, eyeing the other magic user warily. Then her attention drifted to her daughter, a glare. Her view was blocked however, the small dark one had moved in front of her. "You are unfit to take care of Maara." The woman's soft voice informed her. "I am you replacement." The woman felt her heart stop. This one was scary...and the others...so set on defending what she viewed as worthless...The woman glanced again at Lily, then turned and ran as well.

Lily bared her teeth at the woman when she glanced over, then let her run; she didn't have enough left. Quietly, she lowered herself to the ground, then put her head between her knees, breathing deeply until the dizzy spell passed. When it had, she glanced to Trina and Maara, smiling weakly. "Hey... you alright over there?"

Arlen sighed, he was glad it was over, but it seemed a bit.. anticlimactic. Carefully he wiped his blade clean and returned it to it's sheath behind his back. "Are you all okay?" he asked, looking between Lily who was looking tired again, Trina who seemed just fine actually, and Maara who seemed the most shaken by the event.

Maara nodded, wanting to fall through the floor in embarassment. They had saved her though...all of them.."I'm sorry..." Trina gave Lily a concerned look. "I will be...you? Are you okay?" Trina said, realizing for the first time she had an open wound. Slightly embarrassed, Trina moved the arm behind her cloak. She didn't wish to make a mess. She started for the mop, before realizing she would have to take the man on the floor to the hospital... She sighed. That would be an easy task, right after Maara was in bed.

"Ehn." Lily grunted, slowly getting to her feet again. "I'm fine. Just... drained." she sighed, then walked carefully over to Trina, frowning. "Your arm... is it hurt badly?"

"If you're injured I could probably heal it up tonight," Arlen said, walking over to help support Lily, and directing the offer to all three of them.

Trina gave a nervous grin. "No...I uh...don't really bleed." She whispered the last three words, then gave a nod. "I heal up quickly. No broken bones this time, so even quicker. Thank you for your assistance Lily...Arlen." Trina said, worried about Lily and Maara. "Are you alright?" She asked hte cat girl, who merely nodded and headed up the stairs slowly. Trina watched her go up, worried. "You don't think...she wanted to go do you?" She asked Lily quietly, worriedly.

"Mmmph." Lily put an arm around Arlen's waist and yawned, leaning against him rather heavily. "No, I don't think she did, but..." she frowned, ears flopping. "Even if that were the case, that woman was obviously and unfit guardian and shouldn't be allowed to take care of children." her mind was too fuzzy to really register Trina's admission about blood, so she didn't ask.

Arlen smiled softly as he hoisted Lily into his arms. "If you need healing don't be afraid to ask," he said to Trina. "But right now I think you should go talk to her," he added, nodding to the stairs.

Trina nodded, agreeing, but still concerned. "You should rest Lily...I have to take this man to the hospital in town...then I can comfort Maara...." She started toward the man, frowning at him. "Thank you again..." She said softly to the two, without looking up.
