Trina turned a little. "You were just sick yes? I would not want to endanger your health Lily...I am capable, just unsure what course of action to take as of yet..." Trina smiled.

"No, I wasn't sick. Arlen was sick." Lily nodded, running one hand through his hair absently as she spoke. "I was just tired." She still was, but, well... Trina didn't need to know that.

Trina glanced out the window again, but the door burst open before she had to say anything else. It was Maara, thank goodnessm but the little orange haired Neko looked scared and pale. "Trina! I have to hide! Quick!" Then she darted towards the stairs, Trina staring at her with a puzzled expression when the door burst open again, this time admitting a tall, gaunt woman and a burly looking man. Maara let out a small squeak, and Trina looked from one to the other. They looked somewhat alike. "Forgive this intrusion..." The woman was saying, glaring at Maara. "My daughter forgets herself!" Trina blinked, noting that the woman was holding Maara's hat, well half of it, in one hand. The burly man had something sheathed at his side. Maara stood frozen, looking at the woman in obvious fear. "Daughter?" Trina asked softly, mildly confused. She glanced at Lily, as if to ask, 'What is that?'

Lily blinked, then frowned before looking to Trina. "A daughter is what a woman calls a girl baby." she explained, hoping that would cover it, and hoping that was what Trina had been confused about. Otherwise, she'd feel like a dolt. "Your daughter, ma'am?" she asked the woman, concerned with the fear in Maara's face. "And it is no intrusion. The girl is welcome here."

Arlen frowned and stood slowly. "It's really no problem Ma'am, Sir. Might I offer you both something to drink?"

"Yes. My daughter." The woman said curtly, eyes narrowing slightly, but never leaving Maara. "She needs to come back with me now...Right Maara?" Trina looked at Maara again, but Maara's reaction was not one of pleasure. It was one of horror. Trina glanced at Arlen and Lily again before speaking up again. "What is she doesn't wish to?" She saw Maara's yellow eyes glue to her now, as if Trina were a lifeline. The woman looked at Trina now, eyes slowly scanning then away as if Trina were useless. "I wasn't asking." The burly man's arm tensed, but he did nothing.

"Maara doesn't have to go if she doesn't want to." Lily murmured, standing as well, ears straight up and quivering. "Frankly, she looks too afraid of you for us to allow her to go against her will."

Arlen frowned some more, he really didn't feel up to a confrontation right now, but walked over to the bar, putting himself indirectly between Maara and the other two.

Trina noted the other two's movements. Good. Then she was not imagining things. Trina placed herself directly between Maara and the woman, bringing her self to her full height, which couldn't have been more than five feet and one inch. "Lily is correct. You might not be asking questions...but I am. When I found 'your' daughter, she was drowning in a lake. What explanation do you have for this?" The woman looked Trina over again, then smirked. She was taller and crueler looking than Trina and Maara noted this. Maara was scared that she would have to go back anyway, terrified of it really. "I do not need to." She said, and Trina shook her head. "Then she remains here, with me."

Silently, Lily moved to stand slightly behind and to the right of Trina, but her eyes were on the man for the moment; she was confident Trina could handle the woman if it came down to a fight, but it wouldn't be two on one if she could help it. She turned her head slightly to look over her shoulder at Arlen, one eyes still on the other male.

Arlen sighed quietly and focused on the man, giving a slight nod to Lily to let her know he was up to it even if he really didn't feel like fighting. He was also curious as to how he could far against just one or two people, in a way it was easier to fight a group.

The woman cocked a delicate brow, a cruel smile playing on her lips. "She'll cause you nothing but trouble." "Liar." "She'll annoy you." "I am not annoyed by children." "She'll make you wish you had not saved her." Trina's normally calm eyes narrowed. "That...is a horrible thing to even utter..." She said softly, almost dangerously. The woman seemed to take up the challenge, then spoke aloud again. "I never cared anyway." She made as if she were leaving, the burly man turning slightly as if to follow.

Arlen listened to the exchange, shifting his position slightly so he would be able to better respond. As the two turned as if to leave he watched them closely, not trusting them at all.

Lily tensed, readying spells as she watched, waiting for them to actually leave before she would relax.

The woman uttered something under her breath, a sudden burst of energy traveling towards Maara, even though Trina was in the way. They had allowed a third man to enter instead of leaving, and he wasted no time in drawing a weapon. The first man had sprung forward right after the magic blast, but Trina wasn't so numbed that she didn't see him coming. She had no time to summon her own blades, but moved back in front of Maara after the magic had knocked her over, her arm in front of her. The sword cut her pretty deep, silvery blood running down her arm, but Trina was unperturbed. She gripped the blade, and it was simply gone, meanwhile her injured arm produced her own, cutting the man deep. He would not die of it, but his fighting days were over. Maara was huddled at the foot of the stairs now, but Trina couldn't comfort her until the threat was removed.
