I learned tenor over the summer (played clarinet for 4 years). I'm still having trouble with low notes .______. (I'm first chair clarinet, not used to notes below third-space C x3)

Well the tenor sax has a different emboucher than the clarinet and for you to play low notes you have to strengthen it.
Long tones work great just working up and down the horn.

I may have already replied to this, but anyways I play the alto for a main instrument and I play the soprano for fun and for solos and stuff like that.

I play the tenor and alto for my concert and marching band and soprano, likewise, for solos and fun! I wish we could play in sax quartets--the Arrival of the Queen of Sheba sounds amazing in a sax quartet!
btw, Im trying to learn Flight of the Bumblebee on my tenor and am having a terribly difficult time (expected, I know). If any1 has some tips, plz feel free to share... razz

Hey if anyone's here and knows...
My BD wants to buy our whole alto sax section new mouth pieces (there's 5 of us). And he doesn't want to spend a ton of money because, well we don't have a ton of money. He heard that C*'s are one of the best mouth pieces but they cost around $100. So he wants a mouthpiece that is good quality but relatively cheap. Does anyone know of one?

The Meyers are the cheapest i can think of that would be alright. If your thinking metal then there isnt anything cheap on the market.
