I picked up a mellophone recently to do corps. I suck so much, but it's fun. xD
But I think I love my flute a little more. heart

The only real bad thing is that mellos are epicly hard to keep in tune, even more so when using a F horn mouthpiece!

Ahhh Mozart 2 is a good one. I had to prepare all 3 movements of Mozart 4 for one of my college auditions (it got me accepted =)) gotta love Mozart. I love how light and happy they are and how different they are from Strauss (not that strauss is bad). Have you looked at the entire Mozart 2 yet??? Its such a great piece!! What recording do you have?

(oops forgot to quote) I have the Dennis Brain recording, of all 4 concertos. I haven't played the other parts (I'm 12, so 1 movement was sort of overwhelming to begin with) but I've listened to them and they're just as awesome! When I hear the 3rd mvt of Concerto No. 3, I personally hear someone riding a horse. Just how it flows and where you accent, it sounds like galloping. (yes, I'm weird.) I have no idea what I'll play next year, but I know that I prefer 1st and 3rd movements of most compositions, because I like faster, more "flashy" pieces more than slower, more "expressive" pieces.
