Example: Astral Mirror creates a psycrystal sword that he fights with for 2 posts, then he throws the sword at his opponent and molds his arm into a warhammer. The next post the (90% chance of) dodged sword is caught by the copy-Tres on the other side, and they both rush in for a slow-motion cutscene X-slash self-insert tag-team combo attack.
lol Thats awesome.
Tres's limitations would prevent him from pulling it off though but I see what you are saying. I mentioned to Savoki about how really the toolset can simply be used in a different manner. Though I noted in the fight that the kit incentivized certain behavior over others.
I don't feel the kit incentives my strength's in terms of what people think I do best. People seem to like reading about Tres doing big flashy moves. So maybe, if not this tournament then the next event I enter, I change it up by having the kit reward those things.
For example, in the fight, the power bomb was successful, but because of the limitations of the character, the intended purpose of the astral mirror for my gimmick was creating hard-core pro-wrestling spots...Tables, Ladders, Chairs, etc...for his impact throws, such as Suplex's. The power that augments impact throws, cannot be used in tandem with astral mirror. Tres can only use 1 power per post, which is why that table spot didn't happen.
So maybe instead of having the astral mirror be a power that can create anything, I go instead for something more limited in utility but more applicable for the intended purpose. Maybe go with the protoplasm idea, where Tres has a set of ruby crystals that can transform into 1 of 6 pre-determined shapes. Then, I create an augmentation for Seismic core, that expends one of those ruby crystals as an augmentation, to set up a table to put someone through at the time the technique is performed.
Then maybe I exchange the Astral Striker deal, for an item where, once every six post, instead of being able to summon a HOH style striker, he can cover his body in a spider silk like weave of ectoplasm that hardens his skin, but slows down his mobility by slowing long ranges of motion. This would serve the purpose of helping Tres close the distance with an advantage, but instead by giving him a brief increase of durability.
I dunno, might fit the playstyle better is all...then again, like you said, what I have is fine.
