KeiranKeiran nodded in silence. "I guess that makes sense. I mean, it's just like a male and a female partnership, I would imagine. Well... perhaps not exactly like, but the idea is the same." The Riolu was normally quite calm and friendly, so although he wasn't very knowledgeable about life outside his tribe, he was easy to talk to. Or, at least, he hoped he was. "Are they really? Perhaps I'll meet them someday, but even if I don't, I suppose I'm happy for them." He added, feeling a little awkward. He didn't know any of the hospital staff, so it was all he could really say. He felt a little bit curious, now, as to how he would fit into such an unusual place as the guilds. Perhaps he would speak to Jean-Claude again, after this. It might do him some good, to talk to people other than Celeste. Arceus knew she'd be the death of him.

Jean-ClaudeHmm, it seemed this tribe, or cult as he would more than likely call it, didn't totally corrupt Pokemon. "Possibly, although they're very busy most of the time, I'm sure." With a nod and a sigh, he lay back in his bed and rest his head on the pillow, looking at the ceiling with wide, unsleeping eyes. "I suppose I'm stuck here for a while..."

KeiranKeiran smiled weakly, tilting his head as J.C. leaned back, resting his head on his pillow. "Join the club. I'm not supposed to leave until tomorrow afternoon." He chuckled, sitting up slowly and dusting off his charcoal fur. His teal eyes flickered to the form of the other Pokemon with a slight smirk. "I might head out a little before that, though. I'd rather not give Celeste a chance to come back and torture anyone else." He was joking; partially. As much as he cared for the Chimchar, she could be really cruel sometimes. He wasn't even sure why he liked her, anymore. As kids, she'd been so sweet. There'd been no question of like or dislike; she'd practically been an angel. After her mother took off... Celeste had changed. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that her mother's act had affected her. The old Celeste was gone... and he was the only one having trouble accepting it. "They said when you'd come in... that you'd been poisoned? How'd that happen?" He asked quietly, pricking his ears a little. After having spoken to the Lopunny, he couldn't really imagine anyone trying to hurt the guy. Then again, if everyone got to speak to their opponents before hand, only one in a hundred claws would actually make contact. People were just too different to really judge them from appearances.

Jean-ClaudeThe Lopunny bent forward and pulled up his left leg. Spreading the fur on his shin out, he revealed a little bloody spot on his skin. "Damned Beedrill got a lucky stab in," He explained. A Beedrill's poison could be very potent if it got a good shot. "We were after some kind of artifact. Army of Bug Types in our way." With a shrug, he smoothed his fur back out and sat back. "Kind of thing happens a lot around here."

KeiranKeiran winced as Jean-Claude revealed the wound on his leg. "Ouch. Beedrill aren't fun." So he might have disturbed a nest or two in his youth; big deal. It had sounded like a fun idea at the time. Didn't afterward, that was for sure. The Riolu was having a little trouble getting used to the idea of being a part of the guilds. They'd always seemed like such a huge mass of Pokemon. No individual faces, all one, great group. All of them off their rockers. That picture, taught to all the young members of their tribe, was seeming less and less the truth. "Sounds like you guys get into a lot of trouble. Same idea with my tribe; just a smaller scale. Shouldn't be that hard to get used to."

Jean-Claude"Sadly, most of the Pokemon on my team are of below-average intelligence." Sighing, Jean-Claude's head flopped back onto the pillow. "That Typhlosion you saw earlier is probably the dumbest member of the entire guild." Being the voice of reason in a dysfunctional team was difficult, especially when you were poisoned and in the hospital. "Since I've never seen you around before, I'm going to make two logical guesses. You're new around here, and that 'Celeste' is your only teammate?"

KeiranKeiran managed a smile, amused by Jean-Claude's irritation. It was only masking affection, despite the underlying frustration that rippled through his tone. Any fool could tell that he cared for his team, whatever he might be saying at the moment. "Logical guess number one is correct. Celeste and I got here yesterday, from what she's told me. I wasn't exactly conscious when they brought me in." He chuckled nervously. He knew exactly what had happened before he'd passed out, but he felt a little nervous as to whether or not he might have an extra scar to worry about or something."And number two is also correct, thankfully." He was glad he was the only one who had to suffer through that. Anyone else, and he'd be feeling their agony from a mile off. Aside from that, however, it was quite possible that he simply didn't like the idea of someone else living with the girl he had feelings for.

Jean-Claude"What happened to you, anyway?" Jean-Claude asked curiously. They'd spent a bit of time talking about why the Lopunny was there, but not Keiran. Seeing a Riolu here wasn't too uncommon, though. Their line tended to get into fights a lot. As "zen" as Leon was, he fought all the time. "That girl go off on you or something?"

KeiranKeiran shook his head, looking almost disgusted at the idea. Sure, Celeste wasn't always the nicest person, but she'd never raise a hand against her teammates. Making a threat, and carrying one out were two very different things. "It's sort of a long story. When we set out for the guilds, a group set out around the same time, heading toward the village instead. They wanted to try and negotiate with them, but things didn't go as well as they'd planned. Should have been expected, really. Negotiations have become a term for sending people off to start another fight." His voice was low and disapproving, but he spoke clearly and confidently. It was obvious from the look on his face, that, although he didn't like the actions of his tribe, he certainly wouldn't speak against them. "The village reacted, of course. Some of their more hard-headed warriors managed to get the news out of a tribe member, that Celeste and I had left for the guilds. She's the daughter of our tribe leader; heir to our entire group. If anything, they probably thought she was an open target, a way to weaken the tribe." "Obviously, they weren't exactly correct. They caught us by surprise; I had enough warning to throw myself in the way, but Celeste made a break for it. She thought I was the target, not the other way around." A misunderstanding. He hadn't exactly straightened out her story, either. He hadn't known she'd misunderstood at all, until she'd managed to get into contact with her father. He wasn't surprised that she was angry with him, even if he hadn't done anything wrong. "She made a break for it when I was hit, and I did my best to distract them until she was out of sight. We managed to meet up not long after that, but we were chased nearly all the way here." They hadn't stopped chasing until they'd hit the guild border. Once there, he could remember falling face-first into the earth, and that was it. He'd been so tired, trying to run with his injured leg. Celeste could have left him behind, but she hadn't. She was a bit of a b****, but she still cared for her tribe members. He wished he could have said it was because she valued their lives, but he had a sneaking suspicion that she just wanted to ensure that the tribe didn't grow any weaker than it already was. "As I said; long story. We didn't even understand it ourselves, until Celeste managed to contact her father, yesterday. Today was her second visit. I can only guess that she's had time to brood since then, given her mood." There was an almost saddened smile that crept its way across the Riolu's face, but it quickly faded to a more serious expression as he met the Lopunny's gaze with his large, teal eyes.

Jean-Claude"So basically, what you're saying is..." Jean-Claude began. He put his hand on his chin, stroking it. His large ears moved a little as he thought. "Your tribe is a bunch of ruffians? Sounds like the opposite of mine. Total pansies..." Jean-Claude's tribe would solve problems with flowers. Well, not really solve. It usually ended up in almost all of them getting slaughter. Good thing they were rabbits!

KeiranKeiran was silent for several moments, his teal eyes widening in surprise at the Lopunny's words. Seconds later, however, it was obvious that the shock had passed. The little Riolu began to laugh, his shoulders shaking with the force of the emotion. Though he didn't laugh loudly, his voice still calm and quiet, he was very obviously amused. "Jean-Claude, that has to be about the most blunt description I've ever heard of my tribe." He admitted, still chuckling softly. "Well, perhaps except the occasional comment about us all being 'under-evolved midgets'." The little Fighting-type smirked again. People were very strange toward his tribe.

Jean-Claude"Well, by your age, you ought to be a Lucario," The Lopunny commented. "Of course, there are two possible explanations to this." Sitting up straight, he scratched an ear. "Of course, you haven't evolved because your tribe forbids it. However..." He brushed his ear to the side, taking a rather serious tone and looking at the Riolu. "Riolu evolve when they're happy. You've obviously never had a very happy moment in your life..."

KeiranKeiran shrugged. "I wouldn't know anything about my evolution, truthfully. We aren't taught much about such things, just in case we happen to have a moment of rebellion in mind." He replied, quite relaxed in talking to the Lopunny. He wasn't sure what he thought of the information Jean-Claude offered, but he certainly spoke with a certainty that Keiran found difficult to ignore. As his expression darkened, however, he found himself wincing, already bracing himself for the words that inevitably spilled from his mouth. His ears twitched with a mixture of embarrassment, shame, and defensive anger. He couldn't explain himself for that sort of thing, nor could he argue with Jean-Claude without lying through his teeth in one way or another. "I am what I am." He replied quietly, feeling disheartened.

Jean-Claude"Are you sure about that?" Jean-Claude then asked. "You can be what you truly are, or you can be what everyone else expects you to be." With a sigh, he gave a little yawn. "I know we've only just met, but you're in a situation like the one I was in. I feel the need to help."

KeiranKeiran tilted his head away, looking rather determinedly at a bare patch of the floor. He felt a twinge of awwardness, glancing back at Jean-Claude out of the corner of his eyes. "I... I don't know, Jean-Claude. I really don't. So far, my tribe has been my life; it wouldn't be easy to leave it behind, no matter how difficult life with them can be." He spoke quietly and calmly, but he seemed to be growing weary of the constant fighting to maintain his ties of loyalty. He just wanted to sleep, now. "Perhaps one day I will find my way, but for now... The easiest route seems perhaps the best one..." His black ears twitched as he looked over at Jean-Claude, bowing his head slightly. "...Thank you." His words spoken, he slipped carefully from the Lopunny's bed, limping back across the room to his own bed, and attempting to haul his little body up onto it, instead. It was difficult, it seemed, as he failed at least twice before finally managing to crawl on top of the soft surface. He curled up in the center of the bed like some sort of pet, and tucked his head in atop his arm, curling his little fluffy tail around his ankles. "Goodnight, Jean-Claude..." He managed to say, letting his eyes slide shut. Perhaps he was a little bit unusual, and strangely enough, the same age as JC himself, but... he was pretty much adorable, appearance-wise. If one had never heard his voice, they might assume him a young, sweet child.
