Kouchi hesitated slightly. Had word of the Phoenix clan's decimation reached his ears? He did not wish to openly state that the clan protecting the mountains was no longer alive and that he was the sole survivor.

He nodded his head. "Yes, I knew them...very well. And it is a terrible shame that they are now gone..."
Kouchi looked at Chan curiously. "I don't suppose you would know what happened, do you?"

"I don't suppose you would know what happened, do you?" No, i dont i was in my clan when i felt a great pain and sadness, from the mountains and then i heard something kill most if not all of them.

He proceeded to check the pews to see if Kazuma had maybe fallen asleep on them as he had.
