As Maximos' swords began to form, Ryugi activated the next part of his plan. Even as Damrius skidded back from his last attack, Ryugi was already beginning his next move. Suddenly, his eyes opened wide and glowed with red flames. He heard Damrius' footprints moving around, and activated what he'd been preparing for.

A thunderous pulse of heat, flames, and energy erupted from Ryugi, not unlike the beginning of his Limit Release, except this was not the same. The intense heat around Ryugi easily approached the thousands of dregrees, about 2000F to be exact. This super hot temperature extended nearly seven feet from Ryugi, reaching nearly 5000F degrees at his skin, and radiated out to a total distance of about twenty feet, albeit much much cooler at the furthest reaches. The massive pulse of energy would speed outward with far more force than the Limiter Release had, tossing dead bodies and their fallen weapons outward like schrapnel from an explosion. Anyone hit by the blast, which traveled at a speed of nearly fifty feet per second, and went to a distance of roughly thirty feet would be sent reeling, and flying backwards nearly thirty feet, not to mention being scalded by intense heat.

This was Ryugi's Overdrive ability. It lasted seven turns, and took five turns of energy to activate. It not only increased the power of his fire based attacks by 50%, but also doubled his charge rate. If Ryugi was going to be attacked by two foes at once, he would have to be better prepared to deal with them. The total time of this unleashing was roughly a second. It didn't need a power-up time since it unleashed directly from the elemental plane of fire like his Limit Release, just much more refined and controled.

::The events were as follows...

Maximos walked forward.

Bits of shrapnel and body parts soared at him but found themselves either diced or deflected depending on their consistency, by the set of blades that surrounded Maximos. Afterall, thats what they were their for. Fear is the only emotion that doesnt allow thing to act in the way in which they were designed, and Maximos currently had no fear. No happiness, no anything.

Debri, the prequel to the storm, and here came the storm. The gust of heat so powerful it dried the soaked ground as it carved its way across the landscape.

It would seem like all was as planned, for a moment it looked like Maximos had been eaten by the blast. But after a good 4 seconds the truth was clear to see. As the blast curved from a sphere, to a oval, and its final bits were seen vanishing into the palm of Maximos's extended left hand. But why?

What would be very hard to see by any of the combatants was the small purple symbol which had risen in front of Maximos's palm, exactly one inch, and met the oncoming attack. This was known as the Lunoc Replication Seal. The tiny symbol appeared to be a 4 circles connected by lines in the shape of an inverted V, a circle lying in the center of the V. As Ryugis attack came, the rune followed through with its purpose to analyze, replicate, and absorb. In all honesty, Ryugis attack was moving much faster than Maximos naturally could have responded two, such was the second function of the rune. To protect. It quite literally grabbed Maximos's arm and tossed it into the attack.

At the cost of Maximos's arm, this Overdrive ability, was now his to borrow.

As the bits of ember and char faded into the purple rune it could be seen flashing a bright firey red before Maximos's hand glasped around it. His arm sparked for a few minutes before beginning to crack, quite literally shattering open like a puzzle, and seeping forth blackish purple flames from the cracks. There was a slight twitch in his left hand....and he continued to walk.::

Dame squirmed on the ground. His sword lay beside him, but his armro was mor or less melding with his skin. More than it already was.

His body hurt, and his hair was singed, and he had to concentrate. In doing so, he pulled in two more charges of energy. After he got his strength in his legs back, he sat up, grabbed his swords by the hilts, and picked them up. He faced Ryugi, and Maximo, who now was missing his arm totaly cracked up, like a broken mirror. There was also fire pouring out the cracks.

Damrius realized he would have to take a few steps back, in order to stay alive. He did so, and kept moving back, hoping to get into the darker regions, avoiding sight from Both Maximos and Ryugi as he tried to get back his bearings.

Ryugi watched as Maximos nulled his initial attack, and moved his right hand to grip his sword's handle. He then began to circle around, moving to his left, keeping a close eye on Maximos, and an ear out for anything else. As he gathered two turns of charge, he made good use of them, his image flickering a little, but probably hidden from view by the already wavering air created by the heat of his flames...

He kept moving to the left, away from Maximos, and towards his pupil. With any luck, maybe he'd make it to move again, but for now, all he could come up with to do, was wait and prepare...

::To the human the color blue is a lack of color. People with blue eyes usually experience an eye shift at different moods, or when the eye is reflecting a particular color for an extended amount of time. For the human eye, the color black is impossible, as black is a mixture of all colors and in order to have black eyes naturally at least, one must be...blind.

Ryugi's heat images fooled none but perhaps the other man, Maximos had never seen Ryugi in his physical form. Note the lack of glasses adorning his face, Maximos was for all physical intents and purposes...blind. What he saw, was Ryugi's soul, the lifeforce animating his body and driving his actions, as well as the emotion he put into his actions thusly letting him see the energy in the Overdrive, not the ball of fire.

Maximos was quite different from Ryugi, he had no students, and if he did he would expect them to learn from example not from being attacked. Ryugi was running at this...person, when in the Shadow Warriors mind he should have been running at Maximos, the bigger threat. The Shadow Warrior would rectify that.

His flaming left hand reached across his waist and gently hovered over the hilt of the Nameless. But how? His arm was broken, shattered even, how could it grip the hilt? Could he even draw it?! Yet still his hand draped around the hilt of his weapon, with its vicious black flames licking the grip. Maximos's cold eyes dead locked on Ryugi and moved in. The Shadow Warrior had been known to dodge lightning bolts in the past when they were cast by Tomorrow, and granted, he was no Flash, he couldnt move across dozens of feet in fractions of a second but he was no slouch either. He leaned forward and dashed into a straight run at Ryugi, and he would reach him well before he reached his student. From his stance it honestly appeared as if the moment reached him he would slash, such an odd attack for Maximos, so direct. And yet he did it.

Confident that Ryugi would not stand still and let Maximos reach him, further mention of what Maximos would do, would have to be reserved for after the Shadow Warrior actually reached the Dragon Boy. Though from the intent on his eyes and the look of his stance, he was aiming to end this.::

Damrius glared at his master, and saw the other man move. He trailed him, but could only do it for a moment, due to the shear speed. Which told dame he would need as much energy as possible. So, he did pull in two more charges, and sheithed both of his swords. He would have to move quickly.

He started to edge away from his hiding spot, moving further from Ryugi, but never actually took his right hand off of his sword with the black blade.

Quite simply he stood, much like those action hero's everyone raves about, a clean white scarf trailing behind his head gently flipping in the wind like a cat's tail swishing lazily. The scarf tied around the bottom of his mask and neck.

Otherwise he remained the same, white clad as always his toned chest and abdomen revealed, a small jagged scar running across his ribs, and his sword at his side, a pair of white gloves voering his hands rather than his usual barehanded fighting were an oddity but otherwise he was his usual fighting self.

There he stood, his gold eyes, looking sunken within the mask gleamed with an intensity not often seen in his gaze. He was ready, and wanting to fight, he knew something was coming.

He found himself whisked away to a place he couldn't quite seem to remember... again. Sporting his complex crimson yukata and his Black Breastplate, which was embedded with a Silver Dragon, he walked towards the man with complete and utter confidence. His long, silver hair flowed gracefully in the wind. He gripped Dragoonair, his magnificent spear, in hand.

With a dark, serious look on his face, Silver Moonblade pointed Dragoonair directly between his new opponents eyes from a good 20 feet away. There was no need to exchange words; they both knew what must be done.

((sorry for the delay; drying laundry))

( no worries)

Simply put he knew what the other man knew, no words nessecary, the simplest baser instinct was what they were going to do, fight.

Resting his hand on his sword hilt he remained where he was, gathering his own life force within his body pulling in his usual aura of sensation to concentrate himself.

For now he stood, waiting ready, tensed, he was ready to attack or be attacked.

Silver had little patience today, and would thus make the first move. Dashing forward, he would would swing his spear horizontally with great speed at mid-chest level, using the momentum to spin around and make another swing at his legs. If this were to connect, his opponenent would most likely be floored.

the thing about spears is the shafts flex, giving much time for reaction, and even if this one didn't he really didn't care he reacted as if it would not flex. Backing up quickly and putting one hand into his vest quickly he would backpedal fast. Basically keeping back a bit.

Spears were hard to fight with swords this would be a challenge but for now he could dodge these blows and see what the man was capable of .
PostPosted: Sat May 13, 2006 12:27 am

Expect that meerly stepping back wouldn't work so well. Upon the spin to carry on through the lower horizontal strike, he would simultaniously twist his wrist. What the man didn't know was that his weapon was spring loaded and perfectly balanced; it would give him an extra seven feet of range, making the total range 14 feet.

He was also ever advancing, so unless the man's strides were great or his reactions instantanious, there would be little chance of avoiding it.

swordman are trained to react, but he wasn't expecting this at all, spears didn't grow, suddenly he hated whoever made springs, not the point for now.

His hand that had been put in his vest came out quickly with a long bladed throwing dagger which he moved quickly putting the hard steel between him and the oncoming blade, he would use it as a stopblock, basically hit the spear away with the dagger.

his right hand reaching across his body to rest on his hilt tightening his grip quickly.

Silver was now in a crouching position, and had quickly twisted his spear to retract it once again. The man must be strong to block a spear with his dagger, but Moonblade wasn't exactly a giant, either.

He would wait for a brief moment to note his opponents reactions. If he didn't act, Silver would shortly after.
