Sheesh Fenny, where's your sense of adventure? xd I've been to plenty of places where I didn't speak the language and nothing catastrophic has happened thus far. ninja In fact, one of my bucket list goals is to get lost, alone, in a country where I don't speak a word of the language. whee It's part of the fun. 3nodding i dunt think everyone else wants teh get lost in another country tho ninja soooo that might be where shes comin from thar.... ninja Psh. talk2hand All I'm saying is that it's silly to not travel, just because you don't speak the language. I mean, common! You'd never be able to go like, ANYWHERE! gonk I hate that I'm American, and that we never have to learn other languages because we expect that wherever we go, people will accommodate to us and speak English. It's ridiculous. We make such a big deal about people who come here who don't speak English, as if it's a new world order to know this stupid language. I would at least like to take a course in Greek before heading there. Because like Pez said, getting lost and being ignorant to possible help doesn't really sound fun to me. Yeah, stress gets your adrenals pumping, and is exciting, but it's still... Stressful. But it's not really stressful. A little awkward sometimes, but not stressful. I don't think so anyways. And btw, I'm not saying that I expect everyone to speak English. I'm just saying that you don't always have to speak the same language as someone, to communicate with them. And it's not like I'm planning on getting us lost. whee I'll do that on my own time. xd

FluffyWuffieBunny Obviously, I understand that in big cities, you wouldn't really need to know much Greek, but if you're planning to travel around the nooks and crannies, at least knowing how to ask for directions would be good. That's what phrase books are for. rolleyes Really, if you have to take a class every time you wanna go to another country, you're never gonna go anywhere. And you know, not speaking the language really isn't as big of a handicap as you're making it sound.

if i saw a foreigner walkin up teh me with a phrase book i would run really fast in deh other direction ninja im pretty sure theyd do deh same thing teh us in other countrys whee and if not they might just send us deh wrong way for makin them pause between every word so we can look junk up ninja but if we found someone who talks greek speak teh drag with us then we's set! surprised
