Kirsa knew Sasha - who seemed like a very girly sort of girl - was jarred at the site of her. Most were, which is why she didn't like to prance about in so little. This didn't offended her, however; if anything she was somewhat bemused by it. ''Hm. Thank you." She glanced over to the cactus Pokemon buried in the sand - it must be Sasha's, for it to be so close by. Hans couldn't take it any more. There were just so many Pokemon here that he didn't know, he couldn't just stand by and do nothing, even if he was at risk for being scolded. The Houndour padded over to the Cacturne and sniffed at him in a curious manner.

There was no scolding, in fact Kirsa didn't even mind, as long as he behaved himself. "Soaking up sun and snagging boys aren't really my thing...I actually came to see if you perhaps wanted to come join the rest of us? Mike was asking about you earlier. Though he is battling Kilik right now..."

When Blythe got up-close and personal, the newborn Charmander decided that she didn't like that at all. She growled a bit at the very-strange looking... thing and even swiped at her with her claws, not backing off until Keegan made her go away. At this point Kasiya was too absorbed in her own little world to notice, as her heart and mind overwhelmed with bliss and excitement. The little Charmander was spirited and adorable, and every few moments Kasiya had to wipe the tears from her eyes as she was just so happy. When Keegan asked her about a name she simply shrugged. First of all, she hadn't expected Nitro's sibling to be a girl, so most of her names were fairly masculine-sounding. But as she glanced down into the Charmander's beautiful eyes, all at once she knew. "Nova," she said, hugging the Pokemon again. "Your name is Nova!" The Charmander squealed happily when she heard her name and that was all the proof Kasiya needed to know that it was right.

"This is so amazing," she said, looking to Keegan again. "I knew this was going to be wonderful but I had no idea just how-" her words stopped abruptly when she got a good look at her dear redhead. More precisely, the silver, lightning-shaped pendant that was hanging from the chain around his neck attracted her attention, and with a trembling hand she reached out and touched it. "Where... where did you get this?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. "I thought I'd lost it forever..."

Shocker, meanwhile, was looking quite pouty at the fact that she was no longer the center of attention, but she let it slide. The Charmander was rather cute and she knew that Kasiya always went out of her way to make any new Pokemon they met feel like a welcome addition to the team. She looked around for the Sneasel, but didn't see her anywhere. Frowning, the Raichu folded her arms across her chest and meandered away from the group, deciding to see what other interesting things were going on. A peculiar scent wafted through the air, causing both Shocker's nose and ears to twitch, and after a moment or two of looking around she spotted what she was looking for. A Pikachu was sitting next to his trainer, and without thinking about it she dashed over to say hi. After all, they were both mice Pokemon of the electric variety, and this was as good a chance as ever to make a new friend. "Rai chu!" she said happily, giving a friendly wave to Train and her Pikachu.

Jaeshan laughed out loud as the Drifloon tried to lift him up, but he was too heavy for it. "Say Blythe, you met this guy in Sinnoh?" he asked, continuing to watch it hover around him. Perhaps someday he'd be able to catch one of his own.

Combusken, on the other hand, had become completely entranced by the battle between the Magby and the Elekid. Now, she didn't care which one of them won, she just wanted to see a good battle. She knew that watching battles was a good way to learn, sometimes even more than actually being in a battle herself.

Sere was starting to feel a bit better after she got to know everyone's name, though her attention was distracted for a moment by two battles starting on the beach. On between two members of the group she had just been introduced to, the two she had actually seen battle a few days ago at home, and the other by two people she didn't know just down a little ways. The pokemon of the two strangers were impressive, but not anything she hadn't seen before. Although she was interested to see how the Ursaring battled. Her mother had one, but she hadn't seen it out of storage in years and couldn't even really remember what type it was.

Before her attention was able to fully be fixed on the Ursaring Serenity heard Kasiya's riachu call out and she turned back around. Kasiya's egg seemed to have hatched and out came the cutest charmander that she had ever seen. She was touched by how excited Kasiya was for the pokemon. It made her remember when George was born and how happy she had been then to finally have a pokemon that was hers to train. Sere squeezed the tiny mudkip that was in her arms a little more, and he returned the favour by nudging her chin.

George was excited to finally see what was in the egg, and even more excited to see the girl trainer's reaction. He wondered if Sere had been that excited to see him when he hatched. George got his answer when the trainer gave him an extra little squeeze. She may be a chore for him to look after sometimes but at least he was confident that she was happy that he was there and loved him.

"Nova is a wonderful name Kasiya." Sere said after hearing her new friends name for the new pokemon. "I think it suits her." She smiled.

Out of the corner of her eye, 'Cammy' saw a burst of light coming from the group of kids. Before she could question it, a running commentary was given to her through her headset and she sighed. Figures she'd get one of those, she thought as the Ursaring let out another mighty roar.

"Okay Ursaring, give it your Slash attack!" Bryan shouted. The large bear beat on its chest, roaring savagely before it ran forward, kicking up large amounts of sand in its wake.

"Counter with Flame Wheel, Typhlosion," Cammy commanded coolly. As part of her training, she'd taught each of her Pokemon to respond not only to their nicknames but their species name as well. As the Ursaring closed in on her, Kero's flaming mane flared up even more intensely than usual, covering her whole body in flames. When the bear's paw made contact with her it wasn't without consequence, and with a growl the Fire-type lunged forward, thrusting her shoulder into the Ursaring's stomach, causing the large crowd around them to murmur with approval.

Cammy smiled at the successful attack, but at the same time it was an empty feeling. She couldn't help but be impressed with just how well Leo had trained his Pokemon. She glanced over her shoulder at the two baby Pokemon and smirked at the petty rivalry the two shared. It didn't matter though, by the time she was done with them these kids wouldn't know what had hit them. She spotted a Wingull flying overhead and she signaled casually to the camera, telling the surveillance operators to spread word to the grunts to scout around for potential Pokemon to purloin. "Seriously, Bryan, is that the best you can do?" Cammy called out, her tone of voice sounding quite bored. "Typhlosion, Flamethrower, go!"

How did I know? Sasha sarcastically replied to Kirsa's lacking interest in anything fun. Sometime soon she and her were going to have to have a night out, and show her how much fun (and better) it was to be a girl. "But they're are so fun..." she said to herself, fiddling with her sunglasses. "Rest of us? More people showed up?" inquired the girl, perking up as a certain boy was mentioned. "Mike's here? Alright!" In a pink blur, Sasha had packed her stuff away and motioned for Pirckles to get ready to leave. "Lead the way sergeant." she said with a giggle.

Prickles watched curiously as he was approached by the dog. Being a rather small Pokemon, he didn't feel too threatened. It was a very interesting creature, something about it seemed soothing...in a dark sort of way. At the calling of his trainer, he uprooted himself from the sand and stood tall. He looked down at Hans, giving him a good stare with his bright and glowing yellow eyes. He had no issue with his company, but he made it quite clear that he expected him to behave. Retracting the claws on his right arm, he pat the dog on the head lightly. No hard feelings. The Cacturne made his way back to his trainer, taking his time to enjoy the sand as he walked.

Keegan smiled as Kasiya bestowed her newest Pokemon with quite the fitting name, but he couldn't help but feel that she was overreacting a bit. But then again, it was Kasiya after all and it was hard to expect her to act otherwise. "Nova's a good name," he said, nodding. The Ursaring's roars were a little off-putting and somewhat intimidating but Keegan did his best to ignore it. He smiled when she finally noticed her pendant and he shrugged. "I found it," he answered simply. "Well, actually Artemis found it. But I fixed it. The chain was broken." He reached up and undid the clasp before he removed it and motioned for Kasiya to turn around so he could put it on her. "I figured you'd be happy to see it again."

"Oh, ja. We have quite a crowd gathered." Looking rather amused, Kirsa watched Sasha gather up her things in record time. My, my, someone was certainly eager to see Mike. "Very well. This way."

Why did everyone think he was going to misbehave? He was very well trained in the manners department! Tch. Hans made no protest to the cactus patting at him - mostly because he retracted his claws before doing so. Padding his way across the sand, he fell into line at Kirsa's heels.

She lead the way back over to where their friends were - not that it was hard to miss. Between Mike and Kilik's battle, the two trainers battling with the Shiny Typhlosion and the Ursaring, Blythe in her Azumarill suit, and Kasiya and her baby Charmander, the group was easily noticeable. "Things are...quite lively at the moment, as you can see." Kirsa said as they approached, taking her place within the now somewhat sparse ranks of those still standing around, glancing at Sasha. "It was a lot more organized a few minutes ago, I swear."

Kilik sighed heavily and placed a hand on his head. Man, did he hate that move with a passion. He enjoyed the power from it and he'd gladly welcome it if it were on his side, but every time it has been used in his presence, it was always against him. There had to be a way to slow his fall. The trainer thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers. "I got it! Cable, use your electricity to slow yourself down!"

The plug hated the move just as much as his trainer. He flailed around uselessly as he was lifted into the air, and let out a scream as he came crashing down. The ground was certainly coming up to him faster than he wanted it to! When Kilik called for the strange request, he put his hands in front of him and shot at the ground with a jolt of electricity. The bolt shattered upon impact with the ground with sparks flying all around him. The lightning dispersed into nothing, and he did manage to slow down but the impact still hurt. Elekid stood up slowly, clenching his fists.

As much as he wanted to bow at the small amount of applause he received, he held back that desire. Instead, he ran his thumb over his nose and said, "Okay, Cable! Let's go with your Brick Break!" The plug nodded. "Ele!" He dashed forward, pulling his fist back. His little feet pattered against the cement at a decent pace - the little bugger was fast, after all. With this punch, he hoped to knock that Magby out cold.

Train continued to watch the battle, continuing to be impressed by how the two trainers used their attacks. When the trainer of the plug-looking Pokemon had it use eletricity to slow its fall, Train began to wonder how else you could attacks for things like that. When she really thought about it, there were so many different combinations you could make using different attacks. She would have to experiment with that a bit.

Pikachu had settled at his trainer's feet, and blinked when he heard another Pokemon call out to him, raising his head and looking around. "Pika...?" He murmured, then spotted the Raichu that was bounding towards him. Train had heard it too, and looked down at the evolved version of her own little mouse Pokemon.

"Oh! It's a Raichu, right?" Train asked no one in particular, taking out her PokeDex and listening to the brief description the electronic voice gave her before snapping it shut and putting it back into the little pouch she carried. Meanwhile, Pikachu was waving back to the Pokemon and greeted it as well, excited to be meeting a potential new friend.

Still holding Nova in her arms, Kasiya turned around and moved her hair aside, shivering lightly when she felt Keegan's gentle fingers brush up against her skin. He can be a jerk all he wants, she thought, closing her eyes. But I'll always know better. As the pendant fell against her chest, the sense of completeness washed over her and she reached up and wrapped her fingers around it. Not only had he found it but he'd repaired it as well.

"Well, you'll have to thank Artemis for me," Kasiya said, giggling a little as Nova tried to poke at her necklace. She couldn't help but notice that the little Charmander wasn't at all scared by the battles raging nearby, specifically the one between the Ursaring and the Typhlosion. If anything, the little lizard would look around with each roar, trying to see where it was coming from. Kasiya planted a kiss on the top of the baby's head and stood up. Their group seemed to have thinned out a bit but she figured that would happen throughout the day. She turned back to Keegan, and smiled. "Thanks, Keegan," she said, leaning over and kissing him. "For everything." Nova let out a happy little cry even though she was being somewhat sandwiched between the two of them. However when they pulled apart, Nova scrambled up onto her shoulders and then onto her head, her flaming tail waving around happily. Kasiya giggled at this, deciding to enjoy it for now. After all, she knew that before long Nova would grow, and soon she'd be too big to carry around, let alone ride on her head or shoulders.

Shocker practically squealed with delight, happy sparks flaring from her cheeks. For a moment it almost seemed that she'd forgotten that she was actually a Raichu and not a Pikachu, that is until she heard Train's PokeDex read out information about her, and she grinned a bit sheepishly. Standing up tall on her hind legs, the Raichu tried to pinpoint the direction she'd come from, figuring that her trainer and the Pikachu's trainer would get along well seeing as they both had good taste in Pokemon (although that part was possibly only selfish thinking on Shocker's part).

"Uh, sure," Keegan chuckled, in response to being thanked. It wasn't something that happened often and he was certain he'd never really get used to it. The kisses that came with said thanks, however, he was more than willing to accept. He stood up as well, looking around. Some of their makeshift 'group' had wandered off but he wasn't bothered by it. He kind of got the impression that some of Kasiya's friends didn't really like him all that much, and that was just fine and dandy for him. He only cared about what one specific person thought about him, and right now that one specific person was carefully balancing a newborn Charmander on her head. He smiled at the sight of them - too cute for words. Can't wait to see what Nova's capable of, he thought.

Someone had mentioned something about tag-team battles and Keegan was certain he felt all six of his Pokeballs wriggle around at just the mention of the B-word. He knew how his Pokemon felt though, as yesterday they hadn't really had much luck when it came to battling. He clicked the first Pokeball on his belt, releasing Helios. At first, the Vulpix winced at the brightness from sunshine bearing down on him, but it soon became the least of his worries. With an irked cry, the fox jumped up onto his trainer's shoulders, glaring daggers at him. "What?" Keegan asked, but soon realized that Helios' annoyance was due to the fact that they were on a beach. Again. "Well, beaches have sand on 'em. What do you expect to do about it?" The Vulpix gave an indignant snort and turned up his nose. "Stop being such a baby," the redhead grumbled, rolling his eyes. "It's just a bit of sand. Geez."

Riza got about halfway to the beach before the loud roars from the Pokemon caught her attention. Fairly certain that they weren’t coming from the magby and elekid Riza turned to look, her eyes widening with adoration at the sight of the mighty bear Pokemon. That being said, she rather thought the large, pinkish-coloured Pokemon with the flames around its neck was pretty awesome too, despite the fact that it was obviously a fire-type and they were near the bottom of Riza’s favourite type list. She rushed to grab her Pokedex, nearly dropping it in the sand as she quickly scanned the two battling Pokemon.

“Ursaring. Known as the Hibernator Pokemon, ursaring is the evolved form of teddiursa. These Pokemon are fiercely protective of their territory, and they will often leave deep scratches on trees that bear delicious fruit or berries.” Next, Riza turned the Pokedex towards the fire-type Pokemon. “Typhlosion. Known as the Volcano Pokemon, typhlosion is the final evolution stage in the cyndaquil line. Typhlosion attack using blasts of fire, and they create heat shimmers with intense fire to hide themselves.”

Riza raised an eyebrow at the information, looking back and forth from the Typhlosion on the field to the picture in its entry. It seemed that normally they were a kind of navy colour but this one was all rosey pink. ‘That’s pretty strange, I didn’t know Pokemon could be differently coloured like that,’ she thought before deciding to check the entries of teddiursa and cyndaquil. “They’re so cute,” Riza giggled, snapping her Pokedex shut and putting it back in her bag. Maybe some day she’d be able to find a teddiursa and a cyndaquil of her very own.

"Electricity doesn't work like that!" cried Mike as he saw Cable soften his fall with an electric blast. He snarled, not enjoying his move (or his element) being upstaged like that. Propulsion was fire's territory after all. However, when Kilik called out for a Brick Break, Mike felt his anger fade away. "Bad move, Kilik." he said with a smirk. "You know more than anyone what moves I got on this little guy." He snapped his fingers, and Napalm began to glow bright red. "And now, you'll pay for your carelessness!" The Magby gathered a large collection of thermal energy, forming it into a big fireball. "Overheat!" screamed Mike, the sound of rushing fire accented by his arrogant laughter.

"Go Mike and or Kilik!" a girl from the crowd shouted. Mike looked around to see who it was, but all he caught was a flash of pink.

Nitro shrugged. He wasn't aware of Mike's plans for the afternoon, but he imagined they'd probably be spent with friends of his. His trainer was never one for structure. Mike was notorious for just doing whatever came to mind at that point. But just in case he was free, the Charizard would tell him next time he had the chance. He'd just need Portabello.

As the subject was turned over to his wings, Nitro let out a happy grunt, spreading them out wide for the little girl to enjoy. He was always willing to show off his magnificent wingspan.

Sasha laughed a hearty laugh at Kirsa's somewhat anxious declaration. "It's okay Kirsa, no one's accusing you of being a bad organizer." she said with a smile, looking around at the people who stayed around. She had passed the boys' battle already, yelling an unbiased cheer for both of them, so she figured they'd be alright for another few minutes while she scoped the scene here. To her left she saw a much more heated battle between a pink Typhlosion and a large bear type Pokemon, and she couldn't help but want to battle herself.

She turned towards the group, staring for a moment with the giant Azumarill girl and the balloon Pokemon. "Wieerd." she said under her breath. A cute blond boy, accompanied by an equally cute girl stood by, both looking down at something. Curious, Sasha stood on her tippy-toes, holding onto the ever sturdy Kirsa for balance. Kasiya was sitting down with a very small Charmander. A somewhat off putting boy in red hair sat beside her, but stood up and walked off soon after. She thought she saw Kasiya give him a kiss, but she wasn't sure. "Hi Kassie!" Sasha practically shouted, leaning forward with her usual cheery smile on her face, her arms now draped around Kirsa for a mixture of balance and comfort. Plus, it was fun violating her new friend's personal space.
PostPosted: Thu Nov 06, 2008 2:06 pm

When Kasiya heard her name she looked around expectantly, blinking in surprise when she became face-to-face with a rather familiar girl with a head of long, flowy pink hair. For a horrifying moment she thought that Keegan's annoying friend Sheena had tagged along to the beach after him but she soon realized that this girl was older (but not necessarily any less crazy). "Sasha!" she cried, practically shoving anyone in the way out of her way in order to give her friend a hug. She hadn't seen Sasha in a very long time. "How have you been? It's been way too long!"

Nova studied the pink-haired girl carefully before deciding that Sasha was friendly. She reached out to pat the girl on the head, thinking that if her mommy had friends then she could, too! It didn't take long for her attention to be pulled over to the battles again, but movement out of the corner of her eye caused her to look in a different direction. The baby Charmander's eyes went wide at the sight of the large, orange dragon and she began to squirm and flail intensely, trying to go and see it. Kasiya pulled the Pokemon down and held her firmly in her arms. "Uh, excuse me, guys. I'm gonna take Nova over and introduce her to Big Brother Nitro."

With a bit of a bow she turned and headed towards the Charizard, looking around for her Raichu in the process. As much as Kasiya would have preferred Shocker to stay with her, she knew the mouse was fully capable of taking care of herself. I just hope she's staying out of trouble, she thought as she approached Nitro.
=-=-=-=-=

As Napalm launched the fireball at Kilik's Elekid, Combusken began to jump up and down with excitement. She was now sparing with the air, delivering a number of quick jabs to her invisible opponent. Jaeshan couldn't help but laugh a bit at the sight of her, and he knew that if he didn't help her to spend some of that energy she was going to be practically impossible to handle for most of the day. "Calm down, Combusken," he said, patting her head. "You'll get your turn to battle, but right now you've just got to sit and watch."

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the little exchange between Kasiya and Keegan and he raised an eyebrow. Those two together? No way... that wouldn't make any sense... he thought, shaking his head. But then again, he once had a bit of a crush on the blonde girl too, so maybe he shouldn't be so quick to judge.
=-=-=-=-=

Both Cammy and Bryan glanced over at Mike as he screamed his order, just in time to see the Magby's Overheat fly through the air towards Elekid. Not bad, Cammy thought, marginally impressed by how far the two young Pokemon had come already. But definitely not good enough. Her own Fire-type let out a loud roar before she loosed a stream of flames at the Ursaring, engulfing the bear completely in flames. It's agonized screeches were barely audible over the roaring of the Typhlosion's flames.

When the flames died down, the crowed let out a surprised gasp at the sight of the Ursaring. Somehow it was still standing, its brown fur sporting blackened patches in several places. With a growl it charged forward, slamming its fist into Kero's stomach and landing a solid Brick Break to the Fire-type. Just a little bit more, Cammy thought, feeling a little bad for both her Typhlosion and Leo's Ursaring, but she knew that between the two of them they had more than enough medicine to take care of their wounds.

‘Well, some of those guys seem to know a lot about this whole Pokemon training business, maybe they’ll have an idea of where I can find some cool Pokemon to capture,’ Riza thought, thinking for a moment that she’d put off the swimming thing for now and get some advice, but as luck would have it she turned around in time to see Keegan and the overly-cheery blonde girl share a rather intimate moment. It took a moment or two for her to realize she was staring and she quickly turned her back on them, fighting back the urge to both shot in anger and cry out in frustration. ‘Why do I care?’ she thought angrily, throwing her bag in an empty chair and stalking off towards the water, Sneasel way ahead of her. ‘I don’t even know these people. This is so stupid. What is wrong with me?’

Riza was unable to calm down until she was knee-deep in the water, Sneasel splashing happily beside her. Riza watched the Pokemon enviously, wishing that for a moment, the two of them could trade places. This is why she avoided people. She always got attached to the wrong people, the wrong things. When she was settled and things were finally in place, they always ended up getting uprooted. Riza forced herself to go out a little deeper into the water, where finally she took a deep breath and dove under. The cold water cascaded over her body, but it felt so good. She ignored the goosebumps on her arms and surfaced, looking over at Sneasel. The Pokemon was still splashing happily, although when she’d send up a spray of water she’d swing her fist at the droplets, her hand glowing with that same energy as before. Frozen shards of ice splashed harmlessly in the water around her, and again Riza couldn’t help but be impressed. ‘How is she doing that?’ Riza wondered.
