Tamao
Tamao got off of the boat, wondering why she'd come to Hidden Sound. There had been a vague feeling, like she had somehow knew she would have missed something interesting if she didn't heed it's call. And now, here she was. But even though she'd somehow known to come here, she didn't know precisely where in Hidden Sound she needed to go. So she let herself wander, although still guarded. After all, Hidden Sound could be a scary place. It wouldn't be wise to let herself lose track of her surroundings, or lose her focus. So she kept her attention around her, wondering how she'd know when she found whatever it was she sought. She'd hopefully know it when she saw it. (1 of ?)

Nazuki heard a rustling sound behind her and turned around to see an abnormally large damselfly. Having nothing to do, Nazuki followed the little flying critter to a long-abandoned hiking trail. There was another girl walking up the trail, and the damselfly zipped off and perched itself in the girl's hair. Nazuki caught a glimpse of the girl's face and noticed that it looked quite familiar, but she couldn't really pin down where it was she had last seen her.
Walking down a bit faster than usual, Nazuki greeted the girl with a total lack of enthusiasm. It wasn't Nazuki's fault, her emotions were still going through wild swings due to her treatment.

Tamao
Tamao was walking down the trail, when a bug landed on her. She freaked out a little, hopping around and trying to shoo it away. She wasn't really afraid of bugs, at least not too much. But it had startled her, the sound from it's wings right next to her ear was halfway between ticklish and disturbing. She was so set off that she didn't even notice the other person right away. Not until she'd moved around enough to rob the bug of it's landing spot did she calm down enough to see the other person. Blushing a little, she was embarassed at the spectacle she'd just made. She tried to laugh it off, and replied to the other girl's introduction with her own. (2 of ? )

Nazuki almost smiled at the sight of the girl hopping around, but then something weighed her heart down and her lips stopped curling around the corners. The girl's voice sounded kind of familiar, and the fact that she still did not recognize this girls annoyed Nazuki greatly.
"Pleased to meet you, my name is Kagerou Nazuki...as I've just found out a few days ago." said Nazuki, sticking out her arm to shake the girl's hand. Her sleeves slipped alittle to reveal some deep scars. Nazuki shook her hair a little as the damselfly landed onto her head after flying off the girl's hair.

Tamao
Tamao stuck her own hand out and shook Nazuki's hand warmly. She'd seen a flash of something that looked like scratches or scars, but didn't say anything about it. She was much too polite to bring up something personal like that, especially to someone that she'd just met. She watched as the damselfly alighted on the other girl's head, and giggled a little, saying that she must have quite a way with insects. She didn't know why, but it almost felt like she'd met the girl before. She didn't know where or when, but something about her seemed familiar, it was niggling at the back of her head like a half-remembered song. Kind of frustrating, just who was she? (3 of ? )

"yeah, I guess you can say that..." said Nazuki thoughtfully. Her clan meant dragonfly, or mayfly...and several of her clan techniques were abilities that insects pocess. "I guess just talking about it means nothing, but I could show you too." said Nazuki as she then took a deep breath. Her skin was then covered with a greenish aura and then her entire body became a hardshell with some fluids covering her clothing and forming a layer of chitin as well.
Nazuki then cracked the back of her shell, revealing an empty effigy of herself. This was her molting technique, and Nazuki showed the girl's her arms, which were now unblemished without a single scar on the smooth skin.

Tamao
Tamao nodded, showing was usually a better way to describe something than just talking about it. As a base for that line of thought, it was said that a picture is worth a thousand words. How many more words would a moving picture, in other words reality, possess? But then her expression changed as she saw the changes start to take effect. She kept it hidden well, but even so, there were a few signs of Tamao's gut reaction to the startlign changes Nazuki was going through. A faint greenish tinge to her skin, and a nervous tic at the corner of her mouth. This, combined with extra blinking, would be enough to tell anyone experienced at reading expressions she didn't really care for the changes. But she was too polite to ever say as much. (4 of ? )

Nazuki didn't really care about people's reaction anymore, she was glad that the girl was treating her with respect atleast. Most people she met didn't bother talking to her cuz they feared the person she was in her past...or the inhumane creature she was. But she had flipped over a new leaf, so to say, and there wasn't much she expected anyways from her new life.
"Isn't ninjutsu a great thing?" asked Nazuki with something akin to interest. "Though I'm relatively new at it, I'm still considered a kunoichi...though I originally wanted to just make it a hobby." Yet with new abilities comes new responsibility.

Tamao
Tamao still felt a little queasy from seeing Nazuki shed her skin like that. She didn't like feeling that way, but it had caught her off-guard. She knew there were plenty of things in the world that were infinitely more creepy, but even so, the sheer unpredictable aspect had made her a little more startled. She breathed a little more deeply, trying to calm herself down, and finally felt almost back to normal. She nodded, agreeing with Nazuki's statement. Ninjutsu was pretty interesting, there were so many effects, so many different kinds of jutsu to choose from. It was only then that she realized a rather obvious fact. Nazuki must be a ninja, and that skin-shedding must have been a technique! She felt kind of dumb for missing it so completely, but at least now it made sense. She said that she wasn't at all surprised that a hobby like ninjutsu could spread into an entire lifestyle enmeshed with it. (5 of ? )

"Well, I didn't originally want to become a ninja, or a kunoichi, same thing..." said Nazuki with the same as-a-matter-of-fact tone. "But the Mizukage, whom I will forever be indebted to, INSISTED upong me taking the path of a ninja. She said: [You must correct your past mistakes and live a life to serve and protect others.] But It is fortunate that I pick up on ninjutsu quite quickly, so I probably won't have a hard time."
Nazuki noticed that she had been talking endlessly and blushed alittle. "Well, that's enough about me...what about you? I'm pretty sure you've had a better start to life than I did."

Tamao
Tamao listened intently, she kind of enjoyed hearing people's stories. It was a pretty interesting one, she was impressed. There had seemed to be some drama, and she'd even met a Kage! Not to mention, Tamao couldn't shake the fact that Nazuki still seemed familiar, although she couldn't place where. When Nazuki decided she'd talked enough about herself, Taamo tried to decide how to talk about her own story. Compared to what she had been told, her own story was much easier, and it could very well sound like bragging. She didn't want that, so she'd have to phrase it carefully. She did just that, skimming over the part about her rich background, instead focusing more on why she wanted to be a ninja in the first place, the pursuit of becoming stronger and independent. Nazuki thought about the part about being a stronger and more independent individual, one that is not subject to the opression of others and one that can live her life without fear, regret, and intotal control. Afterall, everybody dies eventually, but not everybody lives like they should...Perhaps that's what being a kunoichi is about. Mizukage-sama told her that it was to help people, yet it was still a personal goal, the goal to bring peace to the world.
Nazuki sighed at the apparent depth in this conversation, and knew that she shouldn't think this much. The Mizukage said she was still recovering, and thinking too much might drive her to insanity...she also suggested that Nazuki get some physical exercise.

Tamao
Tamao saw that she was waxing a little philosophical. Too much reading in her youth, it sometimes sprang up as little quirks like this. She said as much commenting on how this discussion was exercising their brains, whereas normal ninja training merely exercised the body. Sure, jutsus required precise concentration, but it was still manipulating the body's chakra. Whereas discussions like this dwelt only in the mind where the only strength was the validity of one's own viewpoint. She blushed and apologized, sometimes she got a little excitable when a topic was interesting enough, like the current one was. (7 of ? )

"Oh?" remarked Nazuki, alittle surprised. It seemed that there are many intricacies in ninjutsu as well, and this girl seemed to be quite skilled at ninjutsu. However, Nazuki was just a beginner and knew relatively little. It would be better if she demonstrated it instead...
"How about we practice some ninjutsu for fun? Or is practice the right word?" asked Nazuki in a light-hearted tone. Ninjutsu was a skill afterall, and skills get better with practice, why not ninjutsu? Since she's already considered a kunoichi, might as well become a skilled kunoichi.

Tamao
Tamao perked her head up at Nazuki's suggestion. Practicing ninjutsu together, but without a real competitive edge, what would be the word for that? Almost sparring, but not quite. Not quite demonstration, either. She shook her head a little bit, she'd been mumbling to herself a bit, trying to decide what word best fit. But it didn't really matter. She straightened up and looked at Nazuki. She said she accepted the offer, it'd be fun to do some jutsu without having to worry about a real battle. She extended her hand, palm up, giving Nazuki the go-ahead to start them off. She was hoping they wouldn't wind up fighting, but just contesting against each other wouldn't be that bad. A nice, mostly harmless encounter, a good way to see how skills worked without any real risk. (8 of ? )
