Garnet pushed open the door to the tavern with a creak. There were a multitude of small, circular wood tables scattered throughout a large meeting area in the middle of the room. A long bar ran along the opposite wall from the entryway with alcohol lining the wall behind the bartender. A small sign in desk stood off to the side with an ornate sign in book in the very middle. The place was packed with loud and cheerful people. A staircase leading to the rooms upstairs was placed just slightly to the right of the sign in desk.

She scanned the room looking for anyone that might lend her a hand. For as cheerful and bright the room was, there were a number of shadowed corners. The occupants were difficult to pick out from the darkness. She made a mental note to keep her distance from those corners until she found equal footing with the rest of the town's occupants. It would negate all the efforts she had put towards being inconspicuous if she were to pick a fight. She flopped down in a chair next to an abandoned table and settled down to wait. Someone in a large city like this would pass through the tavern eventually. All she had to have was patience, and she would learn all she needed from those who held the power.
