Seed_of_Battle are the people they are showing just the ones you start with or are some of them secret question and i have been counting biecause i was bored: there is now exactly the same amount of playable characters as all the playable characters in melee counting the secret and hidden ones to I actually noticed that Meta Knight was the first shown in the first Brawl trailer, and yet he is the seventh newcomer announced. Anybody find that strange? question I think you start out with the 12 veterans and then Pit, Wario, Zamus (obviously), Ike, Pokemon, Trainer, and Diddy. The rest shown have to be unlocked. This is just what I think Idk if its true. But ask yourself. Why was MetaKnight shown first in the trailer and yet shown seventh?

On the Meta Knight issue: Suspense, showing him early would be anticlimactic. On the unlockable issue: Who knows. There might be some newcomers on the starting list, some veterans might be unlockable, I just don't know what they are doing.

This has already been pointed out in the past, but I'll mention it again in regards to why Meta Knight's update was shown so late. Sakurai said in the Music update "Go Go KK Rider" that the song reminded him of a certain saying (for no apparent reason). It was that "heroes always arrive late." Many people didn't know if Meta Knight was going to be good or bad, since his ship was being shown dropping baddies on everything. Eventually they did the Meta Knight update, saying that his update was "delayed for some reason." Many believe that the "hero" is Meta Knight, meaning that he will be a good guy in the Subspace Emissary. That, and for suspense.
