"Then I appreciate you refraining. The last thing we need is them getting rough and tumble." Zykariel would no doubt hurt his arm worse and being that she was a healer and a mother she was damned if she was going to let him get hurt anymore than he already was. "Nothing that might cause problems with his head." She reached into a drawer and pulled out a pack of cards then began to shuffle them. "It's a matching game. Sit down and I"ll show you how to play."

"I can't be the dragon 'cause of my arm. I'm always the dragon..." Zykariel sighed then wandered over and plopped next to her. "How do you play?"

Zahara reached over and ruffled his hair. "I'm going to show you. Patience." She waited for the other two then quickly dealt out the cards and then lifted her hand and dropped the rest of them in a pile in the middle, using her fingers to keep them messy. "This is our pool to fish from. Now you are trying to find matches to the cards in your hand. So for example, if you have one king in your hand, then you can ask one person for the match. So, I have a two in my hand." She showed the children the two of hearts. Now I'm going to pick someone to ask...mmm Lharika, do you have a two?"

Lharika looked at her hand and said, "I have one but it doesn't look like that."

"That's alright. Give it to me anyway." She took the card from the child and layed it down before her with it's match, both face up. "Now I get to ask again. So...Zykariel, do you have a ten?"

Zykariel looked at his cards and shook his head. "No but I have a king. Will that work?"

Zahara shook her head. "No but now you let everyone know you have a king. Just tell me yes or no, next time. But instead of saying no, say 'go fish.'

"Go fish?"

"And that means that I have to go fishing in our pool..." she reached into the middle of the pool and picked one out and put it in her hand. "And then it's the next person's turn. Now, you can get a match from the pool. For example, I picked up a ten so I can lay my two tens down but it's still the other person's turn. Anyone have any questions?"

Lharika piped up. "Why do we say go fish when we don't have a card? Why not something else?"

Zahara gathered a new hand and mixed her matches back up into the 'pool.' Because we're 'fishing' through the pile or pool for matches. You don't have to pick a card from the deck like you usually do." Then she chuckled, "Plus it's more fun to say 'go fish' than just plain old no, don't you think? Especially since being told 'no' is never fun. Right?" She picked up her new hand and glanced around at the kids. "Malikhai, you can go first. Look at your cards. Do you have any matches already? If you do, then lay them down. If you don't then pick a card and don't show anyone but ask someone if they have it."

Oh malik gave her a blank stare for a minute...after all he'd been thinking she was worse off. registering..click. a slight smirk at her and a raise of the eyebrow.

"Well, if that's the doctors orders, she certainly picked the right person for that job now didn't she."

A she stopped midstep as she was walking away as apparently Galesen changed his mind. To which she only shoved her hands in her pockets and raised an eyebrow to him. Okay...that was weird. "I do believe I told you that you were free, which means you're not obligated to help me. What happened to your boat plans?" Going back to walking as she had been before he got her attention once more. "Make rounds, that's what I intend to do. Walk the empire if you will."
__________

He listened tenatively looking at the cards in his hands and then the pool that they had to apparently fish from. Okay well he didn't have any matching cards in his hand, so he picked up the one from the pile. Hey look he had a match now! Thus putting down the two fives and then looking to Zykariel across from him. "Have a seven?"

Sevilin was content to sit back and watch for the moment. Look at that, she could be tenative to children. Though he feared that thought would leave a bitter taste in his mouth if he thought about it for too long so he quickly wiped it from his mind. He had to quit that. So he cleared his throat again which gave him a short coughing fit, and he crossed his arms over his chest. Oh gods...the rest of the day was going to be boring and miserable, he just knew it.

"You're so cute when you're temporarily clueless." Giving a little melodic giggle at that. He really did have his cute moments at times. Rare, but he still had them now didn't he? "Yes apparently doctor's orders is a dose of Malik fatigue to keep my mind occupied and my body nice and worn so I don't even entertain the idea of getting up. Best doctor we've ever had hm?" And another giggle from her on that. "Though I doubt you would let someone else carry out those orders anyway, what with you being all...possessive and mean about it and what not."
PostPosted: Fri Jan 05, 2007 6:36 pm

"This is true, no arguement here."

A slight grin.

"but, since it the doctor's orders....might as well make sure you well taken care off. and you know how I enjoy making sure you are more then well taken care of."

Hey, how often really can one claim the doctors orders were that much fun to follow?

Arthur gave a shrug as he walked towards her. "I feel bad for just allowing you to go off and still work while I have some fun, besides I'll have enough time to do what I want, taking care of the fortress should come first." Well why not help Isle still? If she finds something odd or doesn't understand something Arthur should at least be able to point it out. "Besides if I go off for awhile again Malik will start bugging me and might even put me on a leash..." A small chuckle to that as he caught up to her. He even may want to grab something to eat since he could have someone cook it for him instead of doing it for himself, but that would come later.

Oh look he was all grins over this little precribed remedy for her wasn't he? Of course he was. It was kind of cute in a way. "Oh yes, I know how you just can't help but make sure I am well taken care of before you can do anything else." Giving him that look and a flick of gold from her eyes, just because she liked to do that to him, setting her nail file aside and brushing her nails against her top before glancing at then in casual manner. "I warn you now...I will find a way out of this bed and back to running things here. Don't think just because I'm not exactly in perfect health that I'm letting you off vacation early."

"Do you do this with everyone?" Indeed taking to touring the empire, starting by walking the immediate perimeter of the fortress. Though she did look to him with an odd look and raised an eyebrow at him. "You really let Malik run your life for you, don't you?" Funny how she could say something like that with such as casual fashion.

Arthur looked at her for a moment before giving a light shrug. "I don't think so why?" But he really didn't care, so they began to walk around the fortress, heading around the perimeter first. Though when she spoke again he gave her a soft glare before looking straight ahead again, not saying a word for a little bit. "I know it does seem like it but I owe him for allowing me to live here, plus the building of my home and other things...I can't just go off and do things freely like you do Isle, why do you think he asked me where I was earlier? He keeps tabs on me sort of." Which the elf hated because then he would bring them up later, like when he first had sex with the guy's slaves...Malik had a funny way of making him repay for that.

"Because your decision seems to sway in a certain manner is all." Isle stopped and placed her hands on her hips, looking directly at him and raising an eyebrow though perhaps there was an inkling of a glare in her look. "You speak as if you believe that I galavant around as I please and have no real responsibilities to anyone or anything in my own life or that I do not believe that I owe anything to anybody." And that didn't sit well with her at all, seeing as she did quite a lot back in her own home. Isle only came off carefree truthfully.

"Just because you have someone that you feel obligated to does not mean you give them the reins of your life and let them tug you around by them as they see fit. Debts are not made to be put on one's back for them to carry across the desert for days on end." Turning on her heel and continuing her walking once more.

"fair enough. you may find a way, but that doesn't mean you'll be in teh physical shape to get away with actually getting away."

And with that said..time to follow the doctors orders to the letter, and make sure she got everything she needed, wanted, and then some extra just because.

Arthur let her first comment go and didn't pay much attention to it, though when she stopped he did as well and his eyebrows shot up in a look of surprise when she was staring at him, her look really got to him and now he made a huge bad judgement call about her to which he felt the sting of her comment. Shifting slightly from foot to foot the elf looked away and sighed a little. "I'm sorry for saying that..." He said lightly and stood there as she wet on talking, though he felt like such a idiot at this point now. "I see what you mean Isle... " Though if you saw the way he went about things sometimes you understand why I'm a little cautious... And he just let it go because really he didn't feel like wanting to get into a discussion about it and bother her with all the details. So Arthur kept himself quiet as they walked around the fortress, making light conversation here and there when the time arouse. "So after checking the outside we are going to check every single room?" He asked with a small smile and a light chuckle.

And yes, she felt justified that he had realized exactly what mistake that he had made against her. Isleandra Rainsong did not stand for an injustice against her person to be made and not corrected. She knew who she was and how she did things and no one could say other than that and judge her. And she particularly didn't care if she pissed someone off with that opinion. But if people didn't like her, that was thier problem. "Yes, we are." Continuing on.

Thus a time later, inside and outside all checked out, the downstairs room in front of the massive fireplace found her sitting there, sipping slightly warm wine once more and taking some down time. She had the urge to clean but knew better than to even take to that...would make the serfs horribly nervous and what not.

Several hours and several card games later as well as some odd other little children games in which he had even gotten involved in...it was kind of fascinating to watch little ones wind down throughout the corse of the day. All energetic and what not before settling for less bouncy activities and what not, or catching onto a game and doing very well but as thier focus wained so did thier ability to play the games to the fullest. Well...it was better than sitting in a room alone all day...Sevilin dared say he liked being a...semi-social...creature. Wasn't too bad.

Okay, she'd admit...Malik was always good at tiring her out to an extent and thus douse the need for her to plot. So for now she merely used him as her mattress, her head tucked up under his chin and a hand lightly playing across the scaring on his chest. Zahara was right though...this little bouts of 'treatments' did refocus her mind on something...or rather unfocused her mind so that she didn't think on things like pain...so long as Malik was partly gentle with her as well so as not to aggitated said head injury. "How long are do you honestly expect me to keep this 'taking it easy' thing up..." Piper was never an idle creature for too long...and she was alwasys up and going in three days, even if she wasn't at full health. And she expected nothing less of herself this time...maybe get it down to a day and a half this time.

Nadai once more stood outside the gate and felt perhaps even more nervous than before, seeing as he didn't have anyone in accompaniment this time. Thus clutching at his tunic in nervous motions, he looked to the guards at the gate. "I um...need to see...Zahara...er....Lady Val'Ril...?"

With her short answer Arthur just replied. "Alright then." And continued on following her around, going through all the rooms, sometimes they came across some that even Arthur didn't know about, it was odd and yet they let it go because they were merely just checking out the place just incase they found anything to report or whatever. So sometime later they were both in the downstairs room which held a pretty large fireplace, Arthur right now had a drink but it was a cold wine not warm like Isle's; he was still a little upset of what he did it was a really bad call. But now he was standing still in front of the fireplace, his eye gazing into the warm red fire before he headed over to a chair and sat down in it, taking a sip of his wine the elf set his arms on the chair's arm rest before letting out huff of air. He lightly glanced at Isle and looked away again, so out of boredom he took off his eye patch and began to spin it on his finger, the strap extending far out to have it going around and around. Chuckling lightly he had to smile as a thought came up in his head. "Think I could use this as a slingshot?" He asked as he stopped spinning it and let it dangle from his fingertip.

Zahara was sitting on the floor, her head back against the bedframe, idly running her fingers through Lharika's hair. The little girl had come and plopped down beside her and asked if she could read a story to the boys. Thus had begun reading time. At some point Lark's head had come to rest against Zahara's chest as she held the book aloft and read to the boys about pirates and buried treasure.

Zykariel had long ago curled up in his father's lap, his head against his father's chest, listening to the story. It was exciting to him to have both his parents in the same room, not fighting and playing with all three of them. He knew Zara could be a good Mommy, she just had to be shoved into the role. Not that he knew that that was what had happened, he just knew that she was acting like Miss Piper and all because so many had gotten hurt.

She turned her eyes to him lightly as he took to slinging his eyepatch on his finger. Well that was new wasn't it? He rarely took that thing off, sometimes she though one would have to pry it off of him to get it away from him for any reason. "If you kept it off..." Sipping at her wine some and watching the motion of the eye patch. "Why haven't you just gotten that eye fixed or replaced anyway?"
_____

Malikhai had curled up against Lharika's other side, listening to said story. Stories were good in the middle of that day. Sure he'd prefer a story about daddy, but those were bedtime stories, so pirates and such were good for right now. And whenever there was a picture, she made sure that they got to see it and make thier little comments.

Sevilin was reclined back against the headboard of the bed, idly rubbing gently at his son's back as he was curled in his lap. Story wasn't half bad really, and the child put voices and energy into the characters, making it a little more than just words on paper, a play almost. Though the stage and actors would all have to preform in one's mind. It was nice to see Zahara being tenative as well, now wasn't it?

"Yeah if I do keep the stupid thing off for more than a day..." A small chuckle at that as he took the eyepatch off his finger and held it in his hand, it was so hard for him to take it off and yet this time he really didn't care. Though Arthur's head quickly snapped up and one of his eyebrows just jumped straight up, did he hear what he think he heard? "What do you mean 'get it replaced'? I never heard of any way to get it done..." Though he did lean in his chair a little since he was interested in what she was talking about.
