"I knew it!" she shouted glaring at seto "your are a monster!" she said thinking he said that outloud.She then turned to the pharaoh "Please dont kill bakura!For your daughters sake at least!It might sound crazy but she really liked him!"

"Pharaoh, you must not listen to her!" Seto shouted before Atem could fully register what Rei had just said. "She only wishes to keep Bakura alive so the two of them can escape." In her mind, Seto hissed, 'Foolish girl. Only you can hear me here. Well, except for Akhenaden, but we both know he's not about to say anything.'

Kalim, who hadn't done anything since the guard's entrance, held up his Millennium Scales towards Rei, clearing his throat. He closed his eyes, and then the sales began to tilt back and forth, almost like a teeter totter. Finally they rested almost balanced, just one side slightly higher than the other. He looked towards the pharaoh. "My pharaoh, this girl has sinned, but there is not nearly enough darkness on her soul as there would be on a murderer's. As for Priest Seto..." He turned towards the said priest, who was starting to look very worried. Kalim held up his Millennium Scales, and they tilted wildly, as they had with Rei's in the beginning. Then they glew slightly, and rested so that they were balanced fairly well. "Priest Seto is also clear. Neither of them killed your daughter." His eyes had a slightly glazed over look as he said this, but Atem-- in his frustration and grief-- didn't seem to notice.
Atem turned to look at both of them. "Then..." He said slowly. "Who killed her? I WILL NOT LET ANYBODY REST UNTIL I HAVE DISCOVERED WHO HAS KILLED MY DAUGHTER!"

Rei stomped her foot "Im telling you it was him dammit!Hell if ya could all here him talking in my head he confessed he did it!" She said."Ya know what I dont care!" she said and started to leave.

Rei noticed this and growled Oh dammit!" she yelled in japanese.Bending down she took a hair pin from her hair and started to pick the cuff lock.she dident care if it was right infront of them.

Seto darted forward and grabbed Rei's arm in a bruising grip. "You aren't going to go anywhere." He looked up to the pharaoh. "What do you want to do with her?"
"Mahado..." The pharaoh addressed his closest priest. "You-- and the other priests-- please escort Priest Seto to the dungeons. Isis, take Rei to one of the rooms, but make sure she doesn't leave." They nodded, and Seto's eyes widened. "Oh... and someone inform the guard who was just here to send a new message to my men at Hai'um and tell them to instead bring Bakura here. It shouldn't be too late if you send the fastest rider."
"What?" Seto looked at them in disbelief as the four priests began to approach him. He let go of Rei and took a step backwards. "What?! Pharaoh, surely you cannot be serious! This is madness!" The priests went after Seto as he turned and ran from the throne room.
Isis approached Rei cautiously, almost afraid that she was going to attack. She pulled a key from her pocket. "I can get that..." She said softly, grabbing the cuffs and hesitating. "You won't run? I need your word."

Rei let out a sigh relaxed that bakura wasent going to be killed.She looked to Isis and nodded "I wont run.Youhave my word."

Isis nodded her head and unlocked Rei. "Come on, I can take you to the bath house to get cleaned up..." She said, looking down at Rei's bloodied hands. But Atem held up a hand to stop her. "My pharaoh?" She asked, and then Atem asked Isis to leave them alone for a moment. She bowed slightly, murmuring, "Yes, my pharaoh." She retreated, closing the doors behind her.
The pharaoh, who had had his back to them during all of this, turned slowly to face Rei. "I have put a lot on stake with those orders..." He said, sighing as he slowly went down the few steps that had led up to his throne. "Sparing Bakura, putting my own priest in the dungeons... Almost foolish, if you didn't think about it. Kalim's Millennium Scales showed that neither of you had sinned enough to be a murderer. But my Millennium Pendant picked up a movement from another one of my priest's items. I do believe that Seto tampered with the scales or Kalim himself. Either way, he wanted to hide what the scales would have showed." He paused in front of Rei. "As long as your... friend... Bakura cooperates, I may allow him to leave unharmed. I will need his word that he won't come back to the palace to harm any of my priests, or otherwise hurt my people outside of the palace. You claimed that my daughter was fond of him... So would you say that he is a good man? Do you believe he deserves a second chance?"

Rei nodded "I do belive he desirves a second change.He is a good person..He's just rough on the outside." Rei smiled slightly "It might freak out out but when I met your daughter..She said that she was going to marry bakura..." she sighed softly sadness filled her eyes "...Im sorry for your loss..As much as I hate you...she dident desirve to die..."

Atem smiled weakly, perhaps the first one he had smiled in a long time. "Thank you. And I'm sorry about keeping you at the palace, but it's for... cautionary measures. I suspect Bakura will be very angry when he gets here, and I hope you will be able to calm him down. Once I am sure he will not hurt more of my people, I will let both you and him free." He adjusted the golden plate that was on his forehead, and sighed deeply, heading for the door. "Now if you'll excuse me... It would seem I have a funerary service to prepare."

Atem said something along the lines of 'It's up to the gods now...' as Isis entered the room. "Come, please, Rei." She led Rei from the room into another room with a large stone bathtub, already filled halfway with steaming water. "It may be a bit hot. You may leave your garments by the door; a servant can replace them with fresh ones if you wish."
