Ruby moved swiftly through the crowd, though her bright red hair made her trackable enough. Ruby started to panic a bit as she realized she was likely not to make it in time. Sahira's apartment was more than a few minutes away from the base, especially when pushing through a panicked crowd.

Aaron took one look at Ruby, saw the look on his mother's face, and turned to run for it. Ruby was faster however, and scooped him up, hugging him tight and kissing his forehead. "I was so worried about you, sug, my sweetling. I'll never leave you again, I swear. I love you, sug, I love you so much."

Aaron let out a low grown, and quit struggling. "loveyoutoo," he mumbled in one long quick breath. He glanced over Ruby's shoulder at the cheif. Silently wondering who this new dude was who got to witness the disastrous scene.

Ruby visibly relaxed as Arch took her and Aaron into his arms. "We know 'bout the nukes, Arch, the seer sent a mass message, an' Merlin's got some sorta plan. He said we should stay here." Ruby glanced up at Arch. "What is it we gotta do?"

"Sugar, you're crazy," Ruby smiled, "you're crazy, an' I love you." She buckled up Aaron, who was grinning like he found a box full of illegal fireworks.

Ruby took her own seat, buckling up tight.

As the explosion came to a still, most of the sparklies all gone, Aaron glanced from Arch to Ruby back to Arch. His eyes were wide, like he had found his purpose in life. "Can we do that again?"

Ruby shook her head, "No, sweetlin, once is enough. Though it was quite pretty at that."

Ruby unbuckled herself and moved to the seer, doing a quick check to see if there was anything she could help with, but as Arch had said, he was all right. Ruby took a deep breath, then glanced back to Arch. In all the excitement she hadn't had a chance to really think. She ran to him and held him tight, her eyes shutting tightly closed as she gave a slight shudder, the memories of what she had seen and heard in Ora's castle not too far away from her. The moth necklace itself a surprisingly heavy weight around her neck.

Aaron was attempting to unbuckle his seat belt, but found the buckle had been locked with a band of red blood, to keep him from escaping during the explosion. He grumbled and wiggled in his chair trying to get out.

Ruby didn't say anything at all, just held him, her hands white knuckled, as they gripped the fabric of his shirt. The last two days had been beyond nightmare, with vampires, Seth, Ora, but she couldn't find it in herself to tell him any of it.
