"Horn Drill," the man said. His Pokemon nodded, and impaled Michael with its horn, before flinging him off into the corner, where he died. Jessica flung up to her feet and dashed over to Nina, extending her arms out in either direction. Jessica's body now blocked the man's figure from Nina's sight.
"It's you!" Jessica said, beyond terrified. "You're the one... that they call Maorde Menskr!" Jessica pronounced his name as may-or-day men-sker. She the man smile. "Smart woman," he said, in his quiet tone of voice. His eyes darted to his Pokemon.
"Thrash." Jessica's eyes grew enormous. "Nina, run! Get out, NOW!" she screamed, shoving her daughter back into the kitchen, near the door. The large Pokemon crashed into Jessica, and forced her up against a wall. She was crushed to death.
"One, two," the man's voice sung, coming from the living room, "I'm coming for you. Three, four, you shan't live anymore. Five, six, you'll feel death's pricks. Se-ven, eight, now comes your fate. Nine, ten, fall to Hades' glen!" The Rhydon-like Pokemon then rushed Nina...
"NO!" Nina screamed, flinging up in bed. "No! Don't kill me! Please!" She looked around quickly, and felt herself ready to cry. She pulled her knees to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, and leaned her head sideways on her kneecaps.
"It was just a dream...?" she whispered. "But it felt so real... And who was that Maorde Menskr? He can't really exist... can he?"

"Ah! Houndoom..." she cried, her voice still quiet. "Nightmare follow though with a Surf," Mitsu directed, her voice firm but gentle. The mighty Gyrados however did not comply. He continued to thrashed about the battle field, the effects of confusion becoming even greater. Mitsu bit down on her lip. "Houndoom! Use a Faint Attack!" the little girl commanded seeing an opportunity to attack.
The Pokemon became a black blur before crashing into Nightmare sending him into another roar of pain. Mitsu gritted her teeth before releaseing another command, "Use Surf!" Nightmare unleashed another massive roar, summoning a wave of water from seemingly nowhere. With a flick of his head he sent the wave crashing upon the Houndoom, whom had little to no time to escape the unforgiving waters. The attack had left little puddles about the ground which would dry up soon because of the town's weather.

Still a bit shaken from her nightmare, Nina slipped on her socks and shoes, and sat on the bedside for a minute. Maorde menskr, she thought to herself. That entire thing was no more than a dream. That's all it could be! That Pokemon that he used doesn't even exist! I'm getting all worked up over absolutely nothing, and there's no reason for me to be worrying.
She blinked. But... wait. What if this is a dream of something to come? And what if, even though I'd been presented with this information, I didn't use it to warn everyone? What if Maorde Menskr starts to kill people with that Pokemon of his? She held her head in her hands. I need to find out the truth... But how?

It was fairly boring, the trek to Cerulean all by himself. He decided it could be faster to move through the Underground as opposed to traveling through Saffron City and upwards through the route passed the Day Care run by that kindly old fellow. He ran a hand through his black hair when he approached the door to the Underground. He opened it to see a girl inside, sitting on the rail of the stairs.
"Hey there," she said softly, "I'm looking for a male Nidoran. Want to trade it for my female one?" she held up a Pokeball to him. The boy blinked at it, then patted his sides.
"Sorry. Fresh out," Kilik told her. As he disappeared down the staircase, he glanced over his shoulder to see her cross her arms and huff. Sure, I'd trade it for one, he thought to himself as he walked along the red path, Giovanni's Nidoqueen is better than his Nidoking...why wouldn't I? he paused, his final footstep echoing eerily around him. "And why am I thinking about Giovanni?" Kilik stared at his palms, then closed his hands into fists. Every angry feeling he had began to well up, but he took a deep breath to calm down. "Whatever..." he mumbled, starting to walk again.

The scarred Kingler moved in, slamming its massive claw onto the ground. It seemed much larger in person that it did in any book or PokeDex entry. "Attack with Vicegrip!" Giovanni ordered from his window. The crab lifted up its massive claw and clamped it tightly around the Sceptile, which let out a loud groan. The Grass-type managed to move one arm free from its grip.
"Sceptile! Leaf Blade!" The leaves on the free arm of the Pokemon began to glow with a bright teal before forming into a long sickle-shaped blade. Sceptile lifted its arm above its hand and brought it down against the claw. The Kingler did not flinch. The boy took a step back, gritting his teeth. "What the...Use it again!" Once again, Sceptile moved its sickle downward and still the Kingler refused to flinch.
"This Kingler has been in battle with much worse Pokemon than your harmless Sceptile," Giovanni laughed, "Its shell has evolved to withstand a weak attack, such as your Leaf Blade. It has overcome that weakness." He smirked, and it seemed to stand out from the rest of him, "Your Sceptile would need to be at a much higher level in order to deal damage to my Kingler. Now then..." he snapped his fingers, "Kingler! Ice Beam!"
It was a sickening sight to behold from where the boy stood. His foot was shaking in fear. He watched as his Sceptile was thrown upwards into the air. His face lit up for a moment with a blue light as Kingler charged its attack. Streams of snow and ice blasted from Kingler's claw, striking Sceptile in the chest. The Grass-type fell to the ground with a crash, knocked out and encased in ice. "Sceptile!!" he cried. He shot a glare at Giovanni. His Pokemon...they're not..there's no way... He lifted the empty Pokeball to recall his fallen friend and turned heel to leave the Gym. No possible way...he's unreal. He can't...be beaten.. he thought as the Gym door closed behind him.
"And so ends another game," Giovanni said while hanging his head. He lifted his Rocket Ball and recalled his Kingler into its safety. "Children must learn the rules before playing with the adults," he whispered to nobody, "Only then will the game get...truely interesting." Another sly smirk crawled across his lips.

((Giovanni owns heart ))
Looking down at her new pokemon Toph 'stared' at it with her blank eye's which seemed to look straight through anything they saw. "All right Queeny, I'm in change here so listen up. Your working for me now and that's that, so anything I say goes you got that?" She barked out pointing a finger at the pokemon as if to make her point.
The newly dubbed Queeny just snorted and looked away clearly not having any of this. If that human thought that she would boss her around then she had better get her head checked.
"Oh so that's how its going to be huh?" Toph said putting her hand's on her hips. "Well we will see how you feel about that latter." Edge and Storm gave sympathatic look's at Queeny knowing how stubborn their trainer could be. " Now we are going to the pokemart. Edge lead the way." She said shortly. Edge just nodded and after glancing around for a moment looking to see where it was he headed off in the direction of the pokemart.

Kilik kept walking, listening to nothing but the echo of his lonely footsteps. He stopped again, squinting ahead. The light in the Underground was very dim. The boy pulled up Elekid's Pokeball and looked at it. He pressed the center button to enlarge the ball to fit his hand. His amber eyes looked over the ball many times. "Maybe I'll get a bit of training in with you...back at home.." he whispered. These sentences were magnified many times by the emptiness of the Underground and reverberated back from the walls into his ears. His voice seemed sad and empty, much like the Underground itself. He looked around, lowering Elekid's ball back to his belt. "It'd be fitting for me to hide down here," he mourned. He closed his eyes.
Nina reached her arms out and pulled Kilik into a hug. She held onto him for a moment, and pulled away a little bit. She looked into his eyes for a moment, before slowly leaning back in and kissing him.
He lifted a hand to his lips. It felt as if she had done it again, the same feeling from before overtook him. A warm rush that coursed through his veins; a jump in his heart rate before it returned to normal. It was just like before. He took a deep breath.
"There's nothing I can say that will make you believe me," she said, stating the obvious. "But I'll have you know that I was ordered to kill you today. And look at you now, standing here, alive and well. If you want to stay that way, you should keep a low profile for a while. Giovanni's interest in ending your miserable little existence will fade, but only if you keep off the radar." She slipped her hands into her pockets.
A sharp twinge passed through his chest. That girl from Team Rocket. "Mai..." he whispered. She had been sent to kill him, yet something stopped her. He shook it off.
"It would also be in your best interest," she chuckled, looking at him once more, "to stay away from your friends. You wouldn't want to put their lives in danger as well, now would you?"
My friends? he thought. He looked at his empty hand, opening his eyes. His Pokemon weren't out to comfort him at the moment. He closed his fingers into a fist. "My friends..." he said aloud, still staring blankly at the fist. He looked over towards the Underground's exit. Dropping his hand to his side, Kilik made his way towards it.

He took the ascending staircase to the light above. It took his eyes a minute to adjust to the brighter light of the housing as compared to the dull light below in the Underground. There was nobody to greet him like in the other house. He was half hoping to find a boy wanting to trade his male Nidoran for a female. "She's waiting for you, kid," he said to nobody. A small chuckle escaped him as he left the housing and landed himself on the route beside the Day Care. Up the road, about another half mile was Cerulean. He started his trek up the road, one hand in a pocket, the other gripping the strap of his backpack.
She's waiting for you, kid... his words echoed in his head. Kilik paused and looked at the sky. It wasn't his voice. "Who...?" he turned around on his heel quickly. Nobody was behind him. Kilik turned back around and kept walking.
She's waiting for you, kid... the mysterious voice said again. "Who's waiting for me?" he stopped again, looking at the dirt road beneath him. There was no reply. He looked at his hand and closed his fist again. "Nobody's waiting for me."
She's waiting for you, kid... Kilik growled this time and stomped his foot. "Who is!?" he barked out, yelling upwards into the sky. A flock of Pidgey retreated from a nearby tree. He groaned. "When I get home, I'll take a long nap," he placed his hand on his forehead and rubbed it, "I could use one."
I'm waiting for you, kid. His grip on his bag died and it fell to the ground behind him with a thud. Kilik gulped down the lump in his throat. His hand was shaking. He hung his head and fell onto his knees, his hands limp by his sides. The shock from both the bag falling and the trainer caused a Pokeball to roll out of the pocket. It burst open and Flareon nuzzled his nose against Kilik's side. A tear rolled down his cheek.

"I need to face facts," he said quietly through another tear. He stood up slowly, picking up his backpack and Pokeball along the way. Flareon hopped onto his trainer's right shoulder as Kilik swung the bag onto his left, "Nina's changed. She doesn't need me." He looked over at Flareon and scratched him behind the ears softly. Kilik sighed heavily and continued onward.
It was nice to have Flareon there. It wasn't as quiet. The constant barks that it would send out to a Pidgey that flew overhead was amusing. He chuckled slightly to himself. "If I want entertainment," he said under his breath, "that's what I've got Weezing for." He looked up and his eyes widened. Kilik had made it to Cerulean faster than he had thought. Shaking it off, Kilik walked to the left, then up the road to a break in the ledges. He then hopped off a ledge that landed him on the side of the Cerulean Gym. He cast a look at it and shook his head. "Later," he told himself. The boy looked around for the Bike Shop. "C'mon, I know its here..." he grumbled. He took a path to the south part of the city.
"Can I help you?" a girl said. Her Slowbro looked at him from behind her. Kilik must have accidentially bumped into her and kept walking.
"Hmm?" he blinked, "Oh. Could you tell me where the Bike Shop is?" he asked her. Flareon looked down at Slowbro and blinked as well.
"That way a little," she said, pointing east, "That's a nice Flareon. Care to have it battle against my Slowbro?" The girl patted it on the head softly.
"Huh?" he took a step back. Suddenly, an image of Giovanni came into his mind. A Pokemon's weaknesses can be overcome if they have a strong enough will... He shook his head to get the image away. "Sure. How about it, Flareon?" he looked at the Pokemon. The fox jumped from his shoulder and barked happily. "Okay. Flareon against your Slowbro, then. Let's play."
"Good!" she laughed, "I was hoping you'd accept. Care to have some fun, Slowbro?"

Flannery bit her bottom lip, but then it broke into a smile. "You know what to do, Camerupt," she told the large Pokemon sternly. It gave a low, guttural grunt, its bloodshot eyes fixed on the Charizard in the air. It planted its powerful, hoofed feet into the ground firmly, looking ready. This'll show him that I'm not a pushover either, she thought, the hurt from Mike's previous words still stinging like a hundred jabs of a Beedrill's poisonous barbs.

Kasiya continued to walk east, at one point stopping to look up into the sky. It was then she realized the sun would be setting in a few hours. "Looks like we'll be camping out tonight," she sighed, and pat Seto's head. The Persian nodded, his long tail swaying back and forth gently. "Well, let's keep going. I want to make as much progress as we can before it gets dark." She paused, and turned on a heel, giving one final gaze towards Lavaridge Town. "Goodbye, Mike," she murmured, and sighed. "I bet he won't even notice that I'm gone." Seto gave a soft meow and nuzzled her hand. "Thanks," the girl sniffed, smiling at her Pokemon. "You're wonderful."

"What do you people think you're doing!?" an older man came screeching towards Mai, who placed her hands on her hips and sneered at him.
"We're just tourists, enjoying the many sights and sounds that Vermilion City has to offer," the Rocket smiled, her tone calm and collected.
"I don't believe that for a moment!" a woman yelled, stepping up beside the older man. "You're trespassing! Do you have any idea of what kind of damage you could do?"
Mai continued to sneer. "Lady, I don't like your attitude."
"I don't care what you think about me! We're not letting you scoundrels get away with defacing this place!"
"Scoundrels?" Mai blinked. "Do you people have any idea who you're dealing with?"
"It doesn't matter who you are! We won't let you take it! Not now, not ever!"
"Oh, I think you'll change your mind. Serenity, Psychic."
"Espeonn!" The psychic Pokemon took a step in front of her trainer, her eyes glowing with an eerie red light. The woman was engulfed in the same light, her body racked with painful bursts of energy. When the attack ended, she fell to the ground, motionless.
"Ellie!" the man cried, falling to the ground beside her. "What did you do to her?!"
"She's just sleeping. Probably," Mai grinned. Serenity gave an angry bark, letting the man know she'd do the same to him if he tried anything.
"Please," he begged, crawling forward and pulling on Mai's black pant leg. "I beg of you! Please! Just leave this place! Leave it in peace!"
Mai chortled. "Peace isn't in my job description," she told him, releasing the clasp on her jacket and pulling it open to reveal a badge. It wore the trademark, blood-red 'R', and shined in the light of the setting sun.
"Team Rocket? No!" he cried.
"Yes, now get off, maggot." She kicked his arm, causing him to let go and stagger back a few feet. "Nighty night, Old Man."
Serenity barked once, the red light engulfed him, leaving him in the same condition as the woman who lie nearby.

Kilik cracked his knuckles. It had been a while since he battled using his trusty Flareon. "Let's play! Flareon, start it off with a Bite!" The fox bared its jowels in a low growl then pounced forward.
"Flareeon!" he cried, biting down on the opposing Slowbro's arm. The Water-type gave out a yelp and swung its arm around, flinging Flareon to the ground. The Fire-type recovered quickly, rolling onto its feet in a nice show of sport. Kilik smirked. A Pokemon's weaknesses can be overcome... he thought, if they have a strong enough will.
"Slowbro! Attack with Water Gun!" the girl said happily. The pink menace reared its head back and fired a stream of crystal blue water. A few people of Cerulean City had paused their daily activities to watch the match. This caused Kilik's face to grow a bit warm. He had never battled in the middle of a city for a crowd of people before. Suddenly, he froze in his next command. He had battled on top of the Silph Tower and all the citizens of Saffron had seen it. He gulped.
"Flareon! Attack again with another Bite!" Kilik knew it was the only move that the Pokemon had that would be strong enough to inflict a lot of damage. The fox jumped again, this time biting down on the head of Slowbro. Another yelp of pain from the Water-type. However, Flareon wasn't about to let go so easily. A few people in the crowd clapped.
"That's it!" the girl stomped her foot, "Slowbro, use Mega Punch!" At this, the Pokemon swung its head one last time, finally freeing itself from Flareon's Bite. It fist then curled and began to glow brightly. As Flareon landed on all fours, his chest was met with the Mega Punch. Flareon's eyes widened and its mouth dropped as it gasped for air. The fox slid on its side, landed at Kilik's feet.
"Flareon! The game isn't over!" Kilik said as the Fire-type stood up slowly. His recovery time wasn't as fast as before. The trainer looked at Slowbro. It was breathing heavily, both bite marks (on its arm and head) were somewhat red and puffy. "A Pokemon's weaknesses can be overcome..." he whispered, "if they have a strong enough will!" Kilik shouted this last bit and pointed at Slowbro, "Flareon! Bite attack, one more time!"

Before long, Kasiya and Seto had stopped, trying to decide what to do next. Their next path lie straight below them, down several rocky ledges to the ground below. "I guess Lavaridge was higher up than I thought," she mused. "I guess with Mt. Chimney still there, towering over everything, you don't realize the elevation." Seto nodded, looking down the ledges with disdain. "I have an idea," the girl said, bending down to look at her Pokemon. "Return for now, okay?" she said, and Seto nodded before being recalled.
Kasiya's fingers traced over the Pokeballs set in her belt until she found the one she was looking for. Hiro materialized in front of her, in a burst of white light. "Wanna give me a lift?" she asked the Arcanine sweetly, who nodded, crouching low to his belly so Kasiya could climb up onto his back. "Well, let's go then," she told him, and gracefully, the Arcanine leaped from ledge to ledge, nimbly reaching the safety of the ground below in little time at all. "That was fun!" Kasiya giggled, hugging the mass of fur and pulling herself up so she could pat his large head. Hiro whined happily, sinking to the ground again and loving every moment of the attention.

"Wow!" a voice exclaimed, and Kasiya looked up, spotting a younger boy wearing a scout uniform. "I've never seen a Pokemon like that before!"
"That's because we're from Kanto," Kasiya told him cheerfully, sliding down from Hiro's back. "This is Hiro. He's a mighty Arcanine."
Hiro sprang to his feet and gave a loud bark, his bushy tail wagging back and forth. He swayed eagerly on his paws, looking very much like an overgrown puppy.
"I've never seen many Pokemon from Kanto before," the boy said, looking intrigued. "What do you say you and me have a battle? You can use your Kanto Pokemon and I'll use my Hoenn Pokemon. How about a two on two, double battle?"
"That sounds good to me," Kasiya grinned, knowing full well that it meant Seto could come out to play again. "You up for it, Hiro?"
"Arc!" Hiro cried joyfully, spewing a mouthful of flames into the air, which Kasiya took as an okay.
