I even used kroot for it too, while they were jumping on them and ripping them apart, everything else was blasting them while they were down! Yet somehow it took a really long time just to kill one squad of pariahs, and 2-4 squads of warriors...just doesnt make sense, maybe im not good with tau either.

Can someone tell me how a standard enemy was able to get 3 full warrior squads, 7 wraiths, 2 spyders, necron lord with chrometron and mass ressy in under 10 minutes? And then know where my army is located on the map? Thats another thing im mad about, the computer always seems to know where I am. I was the tau facing imperial gaurd and I was moving stealth suits around the map to capture points, and every thirty seconds they did that scanner sweep that revealed them. I mean, no matter where I put them they would just use that stupid thing and spot them. I ended up just putting them in a corner, and they ended up using on them the whole god damn game so they wouldnt see my attack party.
I think its rediculous that the AI always knows where everything is, if they were making assuptions on earlier attacks and encounters thats acceptable, but when stealth suits are now wear near anything, not a single spotter unit in sight, there is absolutely no factors that would give away their positon, and yet somehow they manage to locate them the first right off the bat, and then after I move them (I usually make them go in different directions and have them zig zag to confuse them) they always just pinpoint them right there!

Xenos Mortium
The Imperial Guard on the other hand, don't do too shabby.
Swarming seems to be the main weakness of the Necrons.

Yeah, THAT does seem to be a glitch, that IG AI's always know where to put the counter-stealth thingy. Damnable annoying in the campaign.

I play as Tau. Necrons are difficult if there's alot of them, and they're sharing power. Skyrays help, but more important is the ability to get all your stuff up quickly, because Necrons are slowbuilding at the start. Granted, my campaign is on easy at the moment because I'm not an avid DoW player, but Necrons were the second race I eliminated.

EDIT: Where you playing on a Necron piece that had high power? Alot of the enemy areas have significant buildup on them already, so they might have had all thier generators out from the beginning.

it could have, but I really dont see how they could get all those troops in such a short amount of time...

Well, if the area was already signifigantly built up, then the Necrons would have multiple strategic points captured and with listening posts. as well as already having all thier generators out. The generators would provide power, right from the start of the game, and each point that the 'Crons control lowers the build time on thier units. So it's possible that you attacked a heavily fortified province instead of just being glitched.

The province was only a level 7...a level at which I usually kick a**. Well, I saved it before I quit, so I went back in there and discovered that there were two computers who had attacked me in the big wave. Also, not soon after I saved an quit, there was another combined attack on the other side of my base by the two computers. Whether I saved myself from the first wave, the second wave would be tearing up my base by then, it would be too late.

Yeah, im taking a break from the Tau for a while to let myself cool my jets. Ive been doing the imperial gaurd, and they are pretty sweet. The vindicare assassin is so much better than what I though in WA. Because it takes forever to have him reload, I have him go in CC, and he rips everything thing up with ease, and without detection.

*sigh* its been a week since I lost my progress on the eldar stronghold for the necrons, I ought to finish that soon...

They're vunerable early in the game, too. In one mission I stubled apon the Necron base right off the bat and sent a Force Commander and two squads of marines over. It took awhile, but we shut the Nercons down.

Im seeming to have a bit of a problem with my skirmish.
Everytime I put the enemy on random, its always necrons, pretty much everytime (except for one, and it was Tau).
I tried gaurdsmen against them, as a matter of fact it was them who attacked me early. I had a command squad with commisar, and two gaurdsmen squads, and they march in with two almost full warrior squads and a lord. This was like 4 minutes into the game...
before I even knew it the lord teled into a group of gaurdsmen and started kicking the s**t out of them, so i had the command squad go fight him and the gaurdsmen try to fend off the warriors. The warriors were basicly raping my men, so I garrisoned them into buildings and lasted long enough and killed a few that they retreated. Upon attacking their base my guys would start dying out of no where, that and loosing moral. I assumed this was that defensive ability that obelisks have, the wailing death or whatever. Yup, idiot gaurdsmen soon started grenading themselves because they would walk up to the target and start shooting point blank.
Also, for some reason whenever I tell fire warriors to kill something, they try to run towards it and beat it down, despite that they know they suck s**t in close combat, and what I wanted them to do is use the rifle they have in their hands for what it was meants to be used for, which happens to not be trying to beat down some space marines with it, especially a force commander.

Imperial Guard heavy weapon teams seem to have a goddamned targetting issue, they pick one target and when something more dangerous approaches, they ignore it. I cant even designate a target for them.

Guass Turrets/Obelisk turrets also seem glitched. When they kill something, they will continue to shoot the corpse for 1-3 shots, and only about one in three shots actually does damage.

yeah I noticed that too, its pretty dumb
there sure are quite a few stupid things going on with this...
I might write a letter or something explaining what they were doing when they gave the AI the balls to do what they are doing.

Put them in ranged stance (the blue one) and they wont rush in and attack them, if the enemy is really close they will move in to melee so just move them back and press the stop button and they will attack by themselves.

Anyone else annoyed by how insanely hard it is to fight chaos on normal mode in campaign? Every five ******** seconds a ******** defiler comes and ******** tears up my goddamn firewarriors!! scream I kill one and three more come out of nowhere!
Damn machine pits all over the map!
