Elmira smiled some. "It'd be pretty cool to learn magic. And...I think we were just about to leave a note for the NSHU agents that I stepped out for a bit and go see what we could get into outside." she replied with a slightly wider smile.

Elmira laughed a little. "That would go over well, wouldn't it? I'd have a man-hunt going after me." she said, then put the paper against the wall. She quickly scribbled out a little note to a "Phoenix Feather" and "Diamond Dragon". Saying that she had gone out with a friend to get some fresh air and explore a little bit. She'd come straight back here when she was done. If she wasn't back in an hour or two, they could come look for her if they felt compelled to do so. She also reminded them that she'd been training with her powers for the last however many months, so she could handle herself.

...not entirely true on the handling herself bit...but they didn't know that. She was itching to explore without supervision.

She folded the paper up, then turned back to Zander and smiled. "Alright. Just need to make sure they get this and we can be on our way." she said.

Elmira's smile widened. "Absolutely. Where do you want to go first?" she asked.

Elmira looked around at the mess with wide eyes. THAT was comforting...first thing to see stepping out into the unfamiliar world was the aftermath of some...really big fight. The girl frowned and stepped a little closer to Zander. "Well...perhaps we shouldn't stray too far from the building..." she said, her tone a bit nervous.

Elmira noticed that Zander was looking away, and glanced past him to see what he was looking at. A black cat was sitting on a garbage can lid next to an alley way. He just sat there, staring at the two of them with large yellow eyes. When Elmira locked eyes with him, a small pearly white smile wrapped around his face.

Elmira's eyes widened, and her body tensed up some. "You!"

With that, the cat hopped down and took off down the alley. Elmira called after it again, then ran to the alley to chase after it. "Oh no, you get back here!"

"Bit of an explanation..." Elmira said as she ran after the black ball of fur that was darting around corners. "He can talk...he's magic...ridiculously powerful....and he can fix this whole mess." she said, then squealed slightly as she came to another corner. Or at least it sounded like she squealed.

A pot bellied pig...an unusually large one wearing a obscene tee shirt ... screamed at her before running around her and shooting down the alley way.

Elmira stared with wide eyes as the creature ran past her. "I...that...ran into me. It...I-I thought it was a guy..." she muttered.

Elmira tensed up, and cautiously followed after Zander. As they crept through the ally, a few more half-clothed pigs ran past them. Someone could also be heard cursing from the other end of the alley. Both...slang and actual cursing.

One last pig ran out of the alley before a man hobbled out behind it, leaning heavily on a twisted oak cane with a glowing green orb cradled in the top of it. He was wearing a long black jacket with green and black clothes under it. With the large black hat he wore...it looked rather traditional for a wizard. A little more modern than wearing robes, but still. The hat and stomach long white beard didn't help the image.

"Filthy little....Bah. Barely worth the magic or my time. You boys better straighten yourselves up or so help me I'll turn you into WORMS next I see you! You hear me!"

The old man looked over at Zander as he came out from his hiding spot, and as Zander had guessed....the old man wasn't surprised to see him. The man furrowed his brow at the boy for a moment, then seemed to wave Zander off as a minimal threat and turned around. "Well." he huffed. "At least SOMEONE seems to have a shred of respect." he said as he moved over to a crate to sit down. He glared at the dirty box for a moment, then grumbled something as he turned to sit down. The box turned into a finely carved wooden chair as his body bent down to sit. "You might as well let the Omnic halfling come out too. I know there's two of you over there." he said, leaning on his staff a bit.
