FluffyWuffieBunny You really need to come one of these times. xp And an out of country trip sounds amazing, but none of us speak Greek, amiright? Sheesh Fenny, where's your sense of adventure? xd I've been to plenty of places where I didn't speak the language and nothing catastrophic has happened thus far. ninja In fact, one of my bucket list goals is to get lost, alone, in a country where I don't speak a word of the language. whee It's part of the fun. 3nodding

Azhren DysFUNKtional Duck I know I'm getting way ahead of myself, but I hope someday, the Xena guild can go on vacation together. whee And I don't just mean hanging around this old continent, like we always do. I'm talking overseas trip. Greece maybe? xd It's a little out there, but if you think about it, it's totally plausible. 3nodding Right now, I'm doing odd jobs and saving my pennies for a trip to Japan with a group of my friends. But I'd ditch them in a second, to go to Greece with you lot! heart OOH OOH i really wanna go teh greece! eek and im sure that not speakin greek thing wouldnt get in deh way 3nodding greek sounded a lot like english in xena 3nodding Yeah, yeah! heart It sounds like a really awesome place. 3nodding Sissy went there over spring break and she made it sound like heaven on earth. blaugh And her pictures were amazing. OH! surprised And did you guys know that there actually is an Amphipolis? mrgreen At least, there was. It's part of Central Macedonia now. But we could go there! whee If we ever do this. ninja But I think we will, if we really try. 4laugh

You'd never be able to go like, ANYWHERE! gonk I hate that I'm American, and that we never have to learn other languages because we expect that wherever we go, people will accommodate to us and speak English. It's ridiculous. We make such a big deal about people who come here who don't speak English, as if it's a new world order to know this stupid language. I would at least like to take a course in Greek before heading there. Because like Pez said, getting lost and being ignorant to possible help doesn't really sound fun to me. Yeah, stress gets your adrenals pumping, and is exciting, but it's still... Stressful.

Obviously, I understand that in big cities, you wouldn't really need to know much Greek, but if you're planning to travel around the nooks and crannies, at least knowing how to ask for directions would be good.
