"didn't i tell you? mara reminds me of the child i lost, i guess i wasn't thinking straight when mys and mara were fighting, i didn't want to lose her or you, i guess i was thinking that every girl needs a caring father and i was hoping that i might be able to be that for her, that's why i said that" he paused and watched vhi to see what she would do

*mara looks at nik* It wasnt you, hun. it was me and mom. I was pretty ashamed of what my body did, and mom pushed me a little too far. I am sorry if I worried you.
*Vhi's eyes flash black, remembering another male that had said something similar to that. back before mara was born. her eyes return to their normal glacier blue shortly after* Was that........a....proposal? to me? now?
