Gion grinned. Well, I hope she either learned to control it or gave it up altogether, he chuckled inwardly. I can imagine she must have caused quite a bit of damage, both to herself and to others.

Gion was always amused by Daemon's stories of his life in Gaia, and he hoped that the man could someday return to it.

Nadya smiled at Lore. "You take quite a part in the education of the children, don't you?" she asked him softly. "You have quite a relationship with them, I believe."

"Well...." Lore murmured, "When I first met Elnara, I offered to help Celebor with his reading and writing, though now he's in school along with Serenity. Skye needs a single teacher though because she interprets the world differently. So, she comes to with me to work, we spend the morning learning and then she goes with my assistants. They're dancers in a local arts school, so they've been teaching her that as well."

Well actually she was kind of lucky, she never managed to hurt herself. Though I do hope she gave it up, she was good in less.. dangerous things like shields and sensing... very much so, just not that. Or anything that causes a great amount of damage actually.

Daemon chuckled along with that.

Elnara smiled, remembering that chance first meeting they'd had. Who would have thought that a chance encounter could have turned out so well?

"Celebor's the only one you didn't know from birth, isn't he?" she murmured, smiling at Lore.

She was feeling rather tired by now, and she wondered if it wouldn't be a good idea for her to lie down for a bit.

Damage to property or people? Gion asked Daemon in amusement.

Nadya blinked at Lore. "You've known them all that long?" she asked in surprise.

Then again she didn't know how quickly the children grew.

Lore nodded, "It use to be just Celebor when I first met Elnara, and then there was Serenity and Skye," he chuckled a bit, "They are so different from each other in personality. I didn't get to see Storm and Starr born, but I did get to see their vases, and Idhril just crawled out of her vase when we were at the Borderlands."

Those were all good times, and he hadn't thought about it that way until Nadya pointed it out.

Property... or sometimes property with the person still wearing it.
Daemon replied back in good humour, since it was always something that wouldn't really get a person hurt if one was quick enough.

Nothing bad, but Long's coat was shinged one time.

"To be fair, Storm and Starr came out of their vases in the middle of the night," Elnara pointed out, "and even I didn't get to see them."

She put one hand on Lore's arm gently. "I'm going to lie down for a bit, I've had enough to drink now but I'm quite tired. Do you need to rest too or are you fine staying here and chatting with everyone?"

Well at least it was just his coat and not him, Gion replied goodnaturedly. When I was learning things, it was people I injured, not things. In that way I guess Kara had it better than me - or rather, the people around her had it better than the people around me.

"I'm fine," Lore murmured back, "I'll be fine, don't worry."

Even though the last bit seemed to him anyhow to be more reassuring himself. After all he should be perfectly fine, even though he had never been alone in the same room with her relatives without her.

Daemon laughed softly, yes he could see it be put into those terms. He was always grateful not to be on the recieving end of that fire.

Yes, that is a very good thing indeed.

Elnara smiled and squeezed Lore's arm gently. "Then I'll see you in a bit," she told him softly; then she rose to her feet and nodded her head to the others. "I'm just going to lie down in the living room for a bit."

And with that, she headed off to lay down on the couch.

"Rest well," Nadya told Elnara as her friend left the room. Then she smiled at Lore.

"So you and Elnara are quite close," she commented with a knowing look in her eyes. "You must be a great man to have her respect."

Gion leaned back in his chair and put his hands behind his head in a relaxed gesture.

So what do you make of this guy? he asked Daemon curiously. Do you know anything about him beyond what he's told us?
PostPosted: Fri Jan 18, 2008 7:23 pm

"I wouldn't know about that," Lore murmured thoughtfully.

To him, it wasn't about being great, it was about having something they both needed. The kind of understanding they both wanted and found in each other. Yes he respected her, for being who she was, but him... he wasn't great.

He was a librarian.

Daemon mused for a moment sorting through years of memory that had been buried by unintended sleep. While he remembered his family life as bright as day, the little things sometimes still caught him off guard.

He's quite shy.

This was being an observation rather than fact, but to Daemon the man was rather shy, but that could be easily chalked up to meeting relatives. After all he was dreadfully nervous when he had to meet Yume's family. Though... he sorted through the piles of memory when one came to mind. It was quite long ago.... well to him.

I don't know how far Kara is living from the family home... but if she's still in residence near the city. I wonder if he is the city librarian?

Elves were not common outside of their homes in Gaia, so the only one he could really think of was the one he had met. Since Elnara lived with Kara and her family, and if Kara lived near the city it was possible.
