He merely raised his sword up, blocking the attack, with such force that a piercing, near-deafening ringing resounded from the meeting of weapon against weapon. "See, you're not so fast now are you."

A flick of the wrist blocked the dagger, and Shadow dashed forth, coming at Ashtar with all speed, no tenticle finding him as he slashed across at Ashtar's back.

"Wanna bet?" She asked as she slammed both of her feet at his face, pushing off to jump to the top of the building. "Thanks Shadow!" She called, and grinned evily at Ashtar. "See if you can keep up!" She shouted as she phased and ran off again, too fast to see.

He bent down, raising his left foot up to kick behind him at Shadow. With Neko now gone, his sword was free from restriction, to which he spun it in his hand, holding it in reverse, and thrusting it behind him to block the blade of his adversary.
((Edit: Nevermind))

Shadow dodged the kick with a graceful maneuver, twisting his torso out and around the foot as it came past. He slid his leading saber up the straight blade of Ashtar's sword, a musical metal ring sounding as the razor sharp edges dragged along each other. The hilts were now locked, Shadow's most immediate advantage obvious as he held his second saber out behind him.

Ashtar was not impressed in the least. A blade like shape shot out from his shadow, locking with Shadow's second sword. "You'll have to do better than that. Even that child was a better fighter than this."

"You should not pass such a judgement of an adversary before we've even begun."
Shadow, his control over the darkness just as powerful, willed the shadowy blade away, bringing his freed saber across and striking the bone sword, unlocking his other blade. He then flipped backwards, landing in a low, graceful stance.
"And I would hate to have to resort to my powers in a battle of blades."

"When in battle, you use all your resources." His gauntlets flare up with blackish flames, as did his sword. "When you play with Ashtar, you play for your life."

"How clever..."
Shadow, remaining still for another moment, closed his eyes, reaching deep within himself. After much effort, he found what it is he was looking for and came back to conceinceness, bring his long suppressed powers back with him.
"If that is the way you see it," he replied, his own blades erupting in venomous green flames, "then let the game of life begin."

Falling to his knees somewhere in the backstreets, he breathes heavily. He was too heavily dosed to be able to get much further. Dropping his gun, he uses his hands for support and closes his eyes.

Her mind filled with him, she tried to ignore the pain in her temple as she ran. She sense him close.. But she didn't know where. "Kinikki?!" She shouted, scaring some passers by.

Opening his eyes as he hears his name, he looks up at the sky. "Xan..?" He manages to say at a moderate volume, not having the energy to shout.
