December MC wishlist:
1 Unopened Letter 2 Frostbite Blade 1 Snow Witch
... I need to get back into vending over the break. Or something.

I'm not really overly impressed with the December MCs - they're pretty neat and all, but no sudden inspiration to create anything with them this time around.
EDIT: That's not technically true actually. I had a good concept - but nothing I could visualize really xD An Ice Fairy putting the first frost on the ground.

I don't make themed avatars in the first place, so anything pretty is fine by me. 8D

No. A GED is not a losers diploma. It's there for people who cannot or choose not to complete high school with their peers. There's no difference in it except how you got the damn thing. Your friends can all go to hell. scream I mean... err.... cookies? 8D

I don't think there's a problem with a GED. I just think people are feeling like you have to earn it or something. But what they don't know is that the GED isn't exactly simple either - it requires you to know the same things as people with HS Diplomas, so if you can pass one, you can pass the other. I think people look at dropping out as quitting, and that's why they feel that way about it.
But it's your education, and not theirs, so it's all a matter of how you feel, and what you want to do with it. Either way, the fact that you want to finish, whether with a diploma or a GED, says that you're not quitting, you're just taking a different road.
You should consider finding a tutor - one who you get along with, and one who can explain the work to you in ways you can better understand it. I'm sure you'll do better that way. Those 'Sylvan' learning centers are supposed to be very good, and there are Kumon ones too. I hear they're expensive, but if you can manage to find a tutor who knows anything about their methods it might be helpful. But then, any tutor who makes the work interesting and easy to learn would be good.
Whatever you decide, keep in mind that you still have to know the work, which means you still have to study, and you have to decide for yourself whether you want to try to do that on your own (possibly with a tutor), or with teachers and school staff who may be able to help you out.
I don't think it's a terrible decision to get a GED. I think it means you still want to try - you just want to try a different way.

You are absolutely not a loser for considering a GED. In fact, I would say the fact that you recognize HS is not the answer for you and you are willing to take a different route to arrive at the same destination shows that you have the maturity to understand how important it is and the ingenuity to find a way to get things done that need to be done.
I quit school in the 10th grade -- I wasn't 18, but I knew I would never graduate. HS & I just didn't get along for reasons that are immaterial. Later I attended classes designed to prepare you for the GED test and passed that test. A GED isn't a diploma for losers, it's an alternate path that is perfectly legitimate.

thanks, guys, i feel better now i just have to build up some courage to tell my mom what i'm gonna do and hope she doesn't treat me like s**t because of it -- not like she has any right to judge me on it, considering she got her GED at 30, after stopping school at 13.. -______-

well, parents often want their kids to do what they couldn't, so if you look at it that way, maybe it won't be so bad if she yells... sweatdrop well, that, and you're about to be 18, so it's really up to you now. ;3

I don't think your mom has any reason to be against your decision. My dad didn't go to middle school or high school (Cultural Revolution and all) so he studied for three months to get into graduate school in America. Alternate routes are always okay. 3nodding
