Hi Sammy!!
In other comments, Clair isn't all THAT bad. Gyarados can be fried with Thunderbolt (buy from Game Corner if needed), her Dragonair are tough but nothing horrible, and Kingdra just couldn't cope with my Meganium. Granted, I dodged Hyper Beam at the very end, but still... I had no trouble.
If you're REALLY desperate, go get a Lapras from Union Cave and raise it until it learns Perish Song. Then give Kingdra a music lesson.
