Jaeger_Ayers Technologist Tony Stark I finally saw Oldboy, Jaeg. Good, but <******** up. But in the end, love conquered all. There's no emoticon to express how messed up that statement is. HAH. True.

Chris Powell Emma _ Frost I'll watch tonight! It's hard to watch movies when I buy new books because I always preferred reading. I love the fantasy genre. Heck I'm trying to get Wally addicted to Carol Berg. lol The Bridge of D'Arnath was good. Have read Eddings, Emma? No, is it good? Bridge was my third fave of Berg's works. Her recent dual books, Flesh and Spirit and Breath and Bone were her best works by far. Right now I'm working on Glen Cook's Intrumentalities of the Night.

4gatha Heterodyne I really wished I'd watched Oldboy with somebody else, just so I could go "Holy crap, can you believe that movie? gonk "
Jaeg, I absolutely adore Seven Samurai. heart Kikuchiyo (aka Toshiro Mifune/ "Butt boy" ) for severest of wins. whee If you've any other movies to recommend me, please do. 3nodding I loved Oldboy because it was an absolute carwreck. I could not stop turn away. It stayed with me for months. My recommendations: SPL (which as Powell will attest to, is really rough) Death Trance (completely weird but compelling visually and action wise) Throwdown (It's not about the action, it's all about the characters) Banlieue 13 (toughest frenchmen I've ever seen) Fighter in the Wind (Based on the life of Mas Oyama, the toughest karateman ever)

David and Leigh Eddings have written the best epic fantasy hands down IMO. Read the Belgariad series. It's incredible. Jim Butcher does an excellent job with his Calderon series too.

I really like Donnie Yen. He was good in Seven Swords too.

Well, it was definitely impressive, but it lost a bit of it's shine being put straight up against Hard Boiled, Eastern Promises, and A History of Violence. It was definitely a very unorthodox fight by asian movie standards, which I think was why it succeeds so well.

I love that you use the original title. I'm just a purist, having taken ten years of French. xd
