Excitement overrunning, she quickly rushes to the next boulder. It's a bit larger. She makes sure to inspect it, first. Her quick inspection tells her that the boulder is about the same consistency. She's hoping, therefore, that it requires the same effort to slice and bust. That way she can make sure to learn from her errors. She also makes a quick reminder that this would be it for now. She can't go over-stressing her reiatsu pulse and burning herself out. Luna-chan already warned her about that.
Without further ado, she gets into her ready stance and faces the boulder down. She quickly begins concentrating on and finds her reiatsu pulse before manipulating it to make it swirl faster and stronger around her. Then she hears that voice again. "At it again, Little Princess? You just got lucky. You won't be repeating that mistake here again." "I'm hoping for a mistake. I'll learn better from it and grow stronger just that much faster." She smirks imagining the look on this voice's face, if it indeed had one. "Oh. I'm sure, Little Princess. Just keep that up. We'll see who laughs last." She doesn't stop smirking. She can hear the sarcasm, and fear (?), dripping off those words.

Shunketsu noticed the rock and was somewhat happy about it. "oh yea...moved a rock...I own..." " oh really? you own huh? hmm...I wonder what your friend Hikki-chan is doing..." Shunketsu took that as a cue to look for Hikari, and he found her, but his mouth basically dropped a bit and his self-esteem crashed to below-zero levels...He noticed the extremely large busted boulder and his heart sank, being that all he did, was a tip a rock over on its side... Shunketsu could now be seen squatting down, his arms on his knees, with a kind of dark atmosphere around him...part of him sulking, the other part pondering of how he can get up to Hikari's level... She smiles. Strange how that voice just makes her more motivated to do what needs to be done. As the roaring dies down to nothing, she knows exactly what to do. She throws the entirety of her reiatsu pulse onto the edge of her zanpakutou. "Child. Are you all right?" "I'm fine. Let's split this one in half!" "You're not ready for that yet." "Gotta aim for the stars to reach them." Hikari smiles as she hears Luna-chan giggle. She watches everything around her, feels everything around her. She's more in tune with things as she concerts and mobilizes her reiatsu. Even without a strong sense, she realizes things she didn't before.
She even can feel something coming from the boulder. There's a pulse, a resonance, about it. She nearly blinks upon realizing this. Why hadn't she noticed before? She thinks it's probably because she wasn't confident enough in her control over her reiatsu pulse to think about anything else. For a moment, she decides to listen to the boulder and figure out the opportune moment to strike. "Child? Is everything okay?" "Yes... I just know it's not time to strike." She waits, listens, and watches. This is the first time she thought about the pulse of what she's about to strike. She'd only concentrated on hers.

As proof of her lack of sense, Hikari doesn't even notice Shunketsu there, watching her. She can only see and sense the boulder. What he might see is her explosive reitsu pulse swirling around her, slowly being concerted upon the edge of her zanpakutou. The swirling dieing down because the pulse is being placed, in whole, onto the edge of her zanpakutou. Even at its weakest, it is picking up and violently swirling dust and small particles.
When enough if it is concerted upon the edge of her zanpakutou, Hikari suddenly leaps towards it with much fervor and force. She violently swings her zanpakutou down, and it immediately impacts with the boulder. She doesn't let herself slip this time. She focuses all of her energies onto slicing the rock. At first, her zanpakutou just barely edges its way into the boulder. So far, it's a clean slice. She keeps pushing, and pushing, and pushing. Then. Success. She finally does what she's been aiming to do, and then some. She slices the boulder clean in half. As her zanpakutou is about to hit the ground, and much tougher rock, she lands on the ground and pushes off with her feet to pull away, just as the boulder splits apart and crumbles to dust...

Shunketsu sulked for a little bit more, but then gave up on that, knowing it won't help him in any way whatsoever... "enough of this. I have to get back to training myself..." " hahahahahaha...that was precious...the way you looked when you realized a little girl half your size just totally owned you..." stare "Shut up...I already knew she was on a totally different level than I am...((heh...i can look at this stat-wise too...since you're level 2 and I'm level 1...))" Shunketsu, once again, got in his ready position and focused... "you can do this...you can do this..." A swirling of dust occured around Shunketsu, but this time, it lasted more than just a second... " aaaaaaaaand....MONKEY!" Shunketsu flinched at the loud mentioning of a totally random animal and the small amounts of swirling dust kind of poofed upwards, getting in Shunketsu's eye's a bit... "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!?!?" As Shunketsu rubbed his eyes, he heard the loud sound of rock breaking apart... "it can't be..." Shunketsu turned around and looked in Hikari's direction... "it...just...can't be..." She had just pulled ahead, probably for good...So soon, and she had already cut a boulder in two...all he had to show for his work was some dust... "it...it...can't..." " face it...you're better off trying to catch up to someone else...she's out of your league loser..." Shunketsu readied himself again. This time he was forcing himself to try to expel reiatsu...he didn't care what his zanpakutou said...but he knew he wouldn't match Hikari's reiatsu levels anytime soon, but he had to try... [28]

((... Bad reference to Legend of Dragon. Bad!)) (( xd More to the point. It's more a comparison of statistics in reiatsu and reiatsu control, both of which Hikari owns at....right now.))
Wiping her brow, Hikari figures she's pretty much finished training for now. She's come a long way, and, for that, she's quite happy and proud. She walks back over to where she lay the book Nagi 'accidentally' gave her, sheathing her zanpakutou along the way. She looks over when she hears some random noise and notices Shunketsu. She tilts her head as she studies him, and giggles as he's suddenly thrown out of concentration. She hurries up to the book, wanting to make sure to take a few more mental notes down before handing it back to Nagi. She opens the book and carefully reads over the kidou once more. She wants to be able to use the spells as soon as she is able. What good is this training if she gets nothing more than a theoretical zanjutsu out of it? She carefully reads over all the spells listed in detail in the book. She'd at least be prepared to start casting those numbered one through ten once she was ready and able.

Shunketsu tried to force the reiatsu out. He tried ever so hard, but this time, not even a speck of dust moved. stressed "come on...come on...come on!!" " Give it up..." "no...I refuse...I'll get this...I'll get it right..." " Give it up...you're regressing..." Shunketsu now realized it. His muscles were extremely tense, and he was forcing his muscles to tense up more than he was forcing his reiatsu...Thus, he stopped for the time being.... "thanks..." " I didn't do it to help you, but the joke gets boring if you keep doing it..." stare Once again, Shunketsu relaxed himself...if he couldn't catch up to Hikari and the others now, he'll do it step by step... The swirling of dust appeared around him again, the same size as his last successful attempt...it swirled around him a bit, and he concentrated on trying to maintain it instead of increasing it for the time being...around 10 seconds later, it died... "Thirteen Seconds...that's the best I can hold that for...that's not good enough..." Shunketsu tried again, but it was the same. He apparently couldn't push it any further in his current mental state... "why?...why can't I do better?" " gotta do that on your own man...I'm not wasting my time helping a useless turd such as yourself..." "great confidence booster man, thanks.... stare " " you're welcome..." All Shunketsu could do for now was keep trying, and that's exactly what he did...He prepared himself and swirled some more dust... [30]

Hikari rushes up to Nagi's table and lays the book back. She gives him a beaming smile before rushing away. It's not that she didn't care if she was in trouble or not... Okay. She really doesn't care. She wanted a book like that, and she'll probably see if she can get another one 'accidentally' handed to her at some later time. For now, she's interested in seeing what Shunketsu is up to. She wanders just near enough to him to watch but not be in the way. He's sure to notice her if he looks around, or just looks.
She sits down in this way that her butt is nearly on the ground and knees up to her chest while wrapping her arms around her knees and resting her zanpakutou between her thigh and chest. She tilts her head as she wonders what he's doing. She's too tense to do anything with his reiatsu, and he doesn't seem to have a good control over it. It seems weird that he's trying to relax and do, pretty much, what she was doing. She wonders if he even understands his own reiatsu pressure, let alone pulse or anything else that has to do with such things. For now, she just watches. She's sure he'll figure it out. If not today, someday.

Dust swirled...and stopped...and swirled...and stopped...and well...you get the idea... "dammit...I can't get it any bigger with the way I'm going about it..." " knock knock..." "who's there?...wait a minute...WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME KNOCK KNOCK JOKES??!??!" " so I can distract you..." "I hate you..." " Do I really have to repeat how I feel about you?" Shunketsu tried to focus again, but his mind was flooded with horrible knock knock joke after knock knock joke... " knock knock...who's there? orange...orange what? orange you glad you suck? knock knock...who's there? L...L what? L-ephant! hahaha" Shunketsu snapped..."SHUT THE @#$% UP!!!!" Shunketsu took both his half-sais and threw them to the ground, they both stuck upright into the ground to both sides of him... [31]

Hikari's eyes widen. She has no idea what those words (so colorfully bleeped out ^_^ ) mean, but she has a feeling they're really bad. When she sees Shunketsu throw his half-sais to the ground, she has a feeling she knows exactly what they are. She thinks those words mean something to insult the zanpakutou avatar; therefore, she locks them up to never be used. That is just before she matches up to him and glowers at him. She does not seem happy at all. "Hentai-san! Do not treat your friend that way!"

Shunketsu just stood there, panting angrily after he threw his half-sais into the ground... Shunketsu calmed himself after a few seconds, and tried to resume his training, without the distractions of this zanpakutou...but as he tried to focus, he noticed he kept noticing where his zanpakutou were around him...He didn't really know what significance it had, but it seemed odd to him. Both were an equal amount of distance from Shunketsu, the prongs were in a position where they faced opposite directions from eachother(one backwards and one forward...)...and both were perfectly upright...It just seemed odd, since he threw it down randomly... "ok...there's something fishy here...what are you up to?" Shunketsu grabbed a hold of the half-sais only to have his head flooded by knock-knock jokes again, which caused him to immediately release his hold... "ok...you're not gonna help me, I'll figure this out myself..." [32]

Shunketsu heard Hikari's scolding of him for yelling at his zanpakutou, but if hers bothered him to the extent his did him, she'd probably have done the same, but probably not to Shunketsu's extent... Shunketsu didn't respond though, he felt kinda bad now, but he dealt with it... Shunketsu just stood there...pondering what significance the half-sai positions had...he knew it wasn't nothing because he mind kept coming back to it, but he couldn't wrap his head around it...it puzzled him... "man, i feel stupid..." you are..."i know...wait a minute! how did you?" Shunketsu then realized he was really talking to himself that time around... "I must be going crazy...oi..." [33]

Hikari gives Shunketsu this odd look. She truly think he's talking to his zanpakutou. Plus. She's crazy anyway. "Child. It's none of our business. Each pair, zanpakutou and wielder, have a different kind of relationship." "It's not all right." Yep. She didn't even listen to what her zanpakutou said. Instead, she thinks of the way she clears her head. "Do you need to spar or something to clear your head? You'll never learn anything about your reiatsu with muscle." If she's angry, she's not showing it.
