Walking around the city, Nina found her way over to the Pokemon Center. She cracked her neck again as she entered, and handed Anna's Pokeball and Krystal's Ultra Ball to Nurse Joy, taking a seat on the couch while she waited for the tell-tale ding to signify her Pokemon had been healed. She looked around the Center, and it was pretty barren as far as other human life was concerned. Due to this, her wait wasn't very long-- she reclaimed her Pokemon a few minutes later, and headed out the door.

Her next destination was the Gym. She released Anna from her ball;
the ghost twirled around and hovered in the air for a moment, looking over to her trainer. "Agh. That brat's all gone?" She was, of course, referring to Joshua. Nina nodded. "Yeah. I sent him up to Cerulean with his tail between his legs. I let him know more or less who it was that he was dealing with, and after I threatened to have him reprimanded... well, that's what made him leave." Anna grinned, hovering near her trainer's shoulder as they made their way to the Gym. "So, I take it that we won't be seeing him around any time soon?"

The girl grinned as they arrived. "Nope." She reached for the doorhandle, twisted it, and entered, followed by her companion. Upon entering the Gym, she found a terrified Raimundo and Whitney, the latter of whom rushed over to her sister and embraced her in a back-breaking hug. "Like, oh-my-god!" she excalimed, "Nina, I was like, soo worried that you weren't going to like, get here in one piece! It's like, so good to see you!" The girl wriggled free from her sister's grasp after much strain. "Gu--ah! Don't worry about it! I got distracted along the way by a trainer, but I'm fine!" Rai helped to pry Whitney away; "Hey, c'mon, Whit. Don't break the Gym Leader-- she needs to be in one piece to fight that girl she was talking about."

Nina chuckled. "Huh, Kasiya... That match won't be easy."

"Not much. Gym Badge colleting mostly. I just got the one from this town yesterday as a matter of fact. So now I've got two and was going to head out to Vermilion to face Surge for the next one when I saw you and your friend." Mag said looking over at
Linalee. She looked over at the new friend of Dante's noting the odd contraption on his arm... Wait hadn't the daycare guy said something about a weird metalic arm on Mag? Could this person be the Mag she had been searching for? She decided to find out.

"I'm Linalee it is a pleasure to meet you...?" She trailed off since they hadn't been officially introduced yet.
The name struck a chord in Mag's memories. Linalee, one of his friends on Four Island before she moved away. He hadn't heard from her since... Was this the same Linalee? She did look about the way he'd imagined she would have grown up (actually much nicer than his imagination). "Holy crap. Is that you?" Mag asked her with a surprised look on his face.

"I KNEW IT!" She said tackle hugging him to the ground. "Man you've grown up a lot since our days back on Four Island," she laughed as the two stood up. "Hey Dante I guess you knew the guy I was looking for." she said to him. "Oh so you were stalking me. I see how it is." Mag said sarcastically. "Not quite how it was but sure if you want to call it that. I went for a visit and your grandparents, who want you to call more often by the way, said you'd left on a journey."

Looking between the two Dante blinked. "Wait you two know each other? Huh... Well I guess it really is a small world. Oh and if you are going to challange Surge be careful, I battled him the other day and he is strong. Even with Bahamut's imunity to electric attacks he managed to do quite a lot of damage to her." Behind him Kenny had floated over to Apollo holding his Safari ball with the intent of putting the tired looking Rapidash away. His trainer had the tendancy to get distracted after battles really easily. Shaking his ghostly head Kenny carefully pressed the button of the ball onto Apollo's nose causing him to be sucked back inside.

"Yeah, long seperated childhood friends. Yada, yada, yad." Mag trailed on. "Thanks for the advice on him. I'll have to do some more training before I challenge him most likely," he paused for a moment. "I see you got a new hairstlye while I was off doing my own thing."

"Yeah and it is a doozy on how that came about." Linalee said thinking back to the experience. Hopefully Dante wasn't too upset about it. He hadn't seemed to be thus far but who knows what secret feelings were lying inside him.

Kilik felt the tray bump against him as the nurse placed it on the cushion next to him. He smiled up at the female, then took the six orbs, clipping each to his belt. "Rena?" he shook her slightly, "Let's get going." He patted her cheek a little bit.

The girl stirred and she sat up, rubbing her eye. She must've dozed off in the few minutes that she was resting there. She looked at him and yawned. "Okay, then," she stood up, stretching her arms out in front of her and yawning again. What had made her so tired? The girl began to walk out of the the Center, looking over her shoulder at Kilik. Her hand rested on the frame of the sliding door when it opened, and she motioned for him to follow. She took a step outside, then took Pidgeot's Pokeball and tossed it. The bird revealed himself with a showy display of feathers and a wide wing span.

Kilik slipped his hands into his pockets and gulped. He would have to ride this thing two more times. Once to get to the Victory Road and once to leave it. He shuddered at the thought, then placed his hand on the bird's beak. "Let's...get this over with.." he whimpered, walking around to its left side and hopping on after Rena did.

"Let's make this two verus one!" Mitsu called out to Ivy and Zyphyr. "Take out that Umbreon! Giga Drain and Aerial Ace!" The words were barely out of her mouth before the two vines wrapped around the weakened Dark type and the Pidgeotto springing into action. With two swift movements the Umbreon was taken out and recalled. "You put up a good fight," Ed said with a smile recalling his faithful Pokemon. "But Breloom is more than enough to take you out."

"We'll see about that Ed," Mitsu said turning back to the field. "Now! Hyper Beam!" Edward called out pointing at Zyphyr. With a well timed dodge Zyphyr flew to the left completely avoiding the attack. Or so Mitsu wished. The golden beam came back with a turn and landed against Zyphyr's back causing him to fall in a sprial out from the skies. "What?!" Mitsu asked, surprised at the manuever. "I had Breloom use Mind Reader while you were busy tag teaming Umbreon," Ed said, a smile plastered over his face.

Clever Mitsu thought as she lifted up the Great Ball recalling her fallen companion. "Ivy we can do it! Toxic!" Mitsu instructed, still feeling victory within her reach. "Too slow," Ed said as Breloom had already dodged the ominious purple haze and reared his fist back ready for a Mach Punch. With one swift movment the Grass/Fighting completely KO'ed Ivy. "And that's a victory for us!" Ed said ceratinly pleased with the results. Both trainers recalled thier Pokemon. "I do believe you owe me something," he said with a smirk.

“All right, Victreebel,” Jaeshan squeaked, wincing under the pain of Victreebel’s ‘hug’, and prying the Flycatcher’s vine from his waist. “Let’s see what you can really do.” He patted the Grass-type’s top leaf, and watched the Pokemon hop out onto the battlefield, giving a happy screech and swinging his long vine around in front of him.

Lisa and her Clefable seemed just as eager to see what the newly evolved Victreebel was capable of, and the Fairy rubbed its paws together and strode forward, her gaze fixed on the Flycatcher. “Let’s start off with a bang! Metronome!” Still striding towards Victreebel, the Clefable started to wag the clawed fingers on her paws back and forth, and ticking sound could be heard from around her.

Cle…fay…BUL!” she cried, as both fingers became bright with energy, and a large, pink tongue formed in the air in front of Victreebel and licked him across the face. Shrieking horribly, the Flycatcher hopped back, enraged by the random Lick attack that had come from his foe.

“Don’t just scream at her, fight back with Razor Leaf!” Jaeshan called, feeling a bit grossed out by what he’d just witnessed. Another screech left Victreebel’s throat and he raised his two leaves in cross shape in front of him, then reared back, swinging one after the other. A pair of leaves was launched forward, and they sliced through the air, slashing Clefable across the stomach and leaving a cross-shaped red mark, much like the pose Victreebel had taken before his attack. Jaeshan nodded approvingly; Victreebel’s Razor Leaf was certainly a lot stronger than before.

The pink Fairy let out a cry, her face contorted into a glare of anger. “Cut that damage down to size!” Lisa called. “Light Screen!” Taking a few steps back, the Clefable raised both her paws in front of her, and concentrated her powers. After a second or two, both paws began to shine with a golden light, and a faint barrier appeared in front of her, moving with each step she took.

Light Screen, Jaeshan thought, frowning. Now is that the one that cuts physical or special damage? I can’t remember… He shrugged, deciding that he’d figure it out the hard way. “Try a Slam attack,” Jaeshan told his Pokemon, stepping back himself just in case Clefable used the unpredictable Metronome again. Another high-pitched screech came from the Flycatcher as its vine snaked out and up, and came down hard onto the top of the Clefable’s head, the damage dealt far from glancing blow. Jaeshan also noticed that the vine had passed harmlessly through the Light Screen, as if it weren’t even there. Then special attacks are only affected then, Jaeshan nodded, rubbing his hands together. He really needed to start remembering tidbits of information like this.

The Clefable seemed to stagger a bit, but she closed her eyes, opening one a moment or two later to see how Victreebel was acting. So far, the contact made hadn’t caused her Cute Charm ability to kick in and infatuate him. “Try a Doubleslap next!” Lisa called, putting her hands on her hips as her Clefable puffed out her body, and stomped over towards Victreebel. She reared back her paws, and struck him, 3 times, across the face. Blinking, Victreebel let out an angered humming (it wasn’t high-pitched enough to be a scream) and he raised the leaf covering his mouth, and spewed out a glob of toxic sludge, the close range of the attack making it impossible to miss, right into the Clefable’s face. The hardy Victreebel had retaliated with a Sludge Bomb, and it scored a direct hit, although the toxins didn’t cause the Fairy to become poisoned. Once again the sludge passed through the Light Screen as though it were nothing, this very fact causing Lisa to growl with anger. “Metronome!” she called loudly, cupping her hands to her mouth. Her Clefable complied, using one hand to wipe the gunk off of her face, and the other to start timing the Metronome. Once again the light shimmered at her fingertips, and she pointed at the soft ground, which began to tremble. As though conducting an orchestra into a crescendo, she raised her glowing hand, ripping a large rock from the earth as she did so. She flicked her wrist at Victreebel, and the rock shot forwards at him, resulting in a rather powerful Rock Throw.

The force of the blow caused Victreebel to be knocked to the ground; the Flycatcher had the wind knocked out of him, and had effectively caused him to flinch for the remainder of that round.

Althena's look of anger quite matched the one Keegan wore. Water Absorb and Sunny Day, he growled, clenching a fist. Henry just smiled, and crossed his arms, clearly enjoying the situation he'd put them in. Sunny Day will make Ariel and Althena's ice attacks much weaker, Keegan thought, but then he smiled. "Althena! Psychic attack on the Quagsire! Now!" the redhead called, waving his hands towards the big blue Pokemon. Almost immediately, an eerie, purple light surrounded the Psyduck, and she pointed at the Quagsire, who was also engulfed in the same light. She raised her palm, bringing the blue lug up with her, the strain apparent on her face - Quagsire weren't exactly light Pokemon. Althena closed her eyes in concentration, an unseen force attacking her enemy. She then let him fall to the ground, and stepped back a bit, panting with the effort. "Good job," Keegan nodded, wondering how much Smoochykins had left in him.

Henry nodded at his Meganium, who had been shaking her head back and forth, desperately trying to get the sand and grime from her face and ice. She stepped forward; squinting at what she hoped was her opponent, the petals around her neck shimmering in the sunlight. She opened her mouth and took aim at the blurry image of Ariel, a bright light shooting out of her mouth at an incredible speed. Ariel's Sand-Attack had done enough to throw off her aim, and the Solarbeam went off course, missing her by only a few inches.

Once again Kasiya was astonished to see how much more powerful Althena had become since the last time she saw her. She couldn't help but smile as the Quagsire came crashing back down to the ground, and didn't stand up. Maude uttered a little squeak and recalled him, looking to her husband and sighing. "It's up to you, Henry Dear. Do your best."

Kasiya glanced over at Keegan and grinned. So far, his Pokemon had landed the finishing blows of three of their four opponents. He's come a long way, she thought proudly, thinking of the Dynamo Badge he'd shown her earlier. Her attention was brought back to the battle, however, as Ariel just missed being blasted by a Solarbeam. Having sunk low to the ground to avoid being hit, the Vaporeon could feel the heat from the solar ray on her body, and it felt as though the water molecules inside of her were evaporating, even without being struck directly.

"Let's put an end to this blistering heat," Kasiya nodded, and pointed to Ariel. "Rain Dance!" With that, the Vaporeon reared back on her hind legs, her fins and tail each flicking as she summoned forth a rainstorm. Dark clouds gathered overhead instantly, blocking out the sun. A cool, welcoming rain began to plummet from the sky, soaking everything in the vicinity. Cries and shouts were heard from the various patrons of the park as they scrambled for cover, taking shelter under trees and umbrellas that had been packed in case of freak rainfalls. "Your move," Kasiya grinned at Keegan, winking.

The heat hadn't really been bothering Keegan, after all he had been born and raised next to an active volcano. He held out his hands, feeling the drops of water splash onto his palms, and he looked up, closing his eyes and laughing. He shoved the soaked red hair that was plastered to his forehead and wiped the water from his eyes. "Let's end this, Kassie," he whispered to her, holding out his hand for hers. "We'll give 'em Dual Ice Beams."

Althena had been watching Maggie, and the Meganium didn't look like she was enjoying the rain that had suddenly started to fall. She glanced back at her trainer, her beak cracking into a little smile at the sight of her trainer. That yellow-haired girl had always been able to make him smile, it seemed. She looked at her battle partner then, nodding, and prepared to fire her Ice Beam, a cold aura swirling around her plushy body.

June blinked, waking up to Poochy's whines. Grumbling, she sat up. Sunlight filtered through her eyes. She had slept until noon. Frantically waking, she grabbed Poochy and ran. The Train was in Lilycove, and she was still near the shore. Groaning once more she ran towards the forest.

Kasiya found herself staring at her rain-soaked friend, admiring the way his wet clothes clung to him. She blinked when he spoke, still staring for a moment or two before she realized what he'd said to her. "Yeah, let's do this," she giggled, taking his hand. As she felt his fingers interlock with hers, she was reminded of fire, despite the downpour that continued to fall on and all around them. Her heart skipped a beat before it started to pound in her chest, and she realized it was the same feeling that had overcame her the first time he'd kissed her at the Cherry Blossom Festival when she'd won the egg. "Ariel, use Ice Beam with Althena!"

Ariel nodded back at Althena, the air around the pair of water Pokemon becoming chilled. A frosty mist rose up from around them as they took aim, and a pair of powerful Ice Beams was blasted forward, intertwining together and rocketing into the Grass-type with the sound of shattering glass. Shards of ice were scattered around them, melting as they made contact with the rain. Ariel let out a soft bark, and stepped in front of the younger Water-type, ready to protect her if necessary.

Mike heard a low grumble from his Pokemon companion, the rain clearly not being the ideal weather for him. Mike scoffed, waving off the Typhlosion. "I didn't think a little rain could beat you," He shrugged, a over exaggeratedly disappointed tone coating his words. "I guess you're just not as strong as I thought." He laughed at Felsic's annoyed expression, then was sent to the ground by a hard shove. "Ah!" He cried out of surprise, landing in a small pile of mud that was formed from Ariel's Rain Dance move.

Felsic threw his head back and roared with laughter, pointing at his trainer with his one free hand, the other holding his stomach as if it would just burst open from all the cackling. "Ok, ok, you win." The boy said with a glare, helping himself up. Fortunately, the rain washed off the grime from his clothes quickly. He glanced over at the source of the rain, chuckling slightly at Kasiya and Keegan's double battle. "Hm." He said shortly, looking over the chaotic exchange.

Mike and Felsic went back to focusing on the fight, their hair matted to their bodies as the downpour continued.

For a single moment in time, Keegan felt rather complete - it was as though nothing were wrong. Time seemed to stand still as the rain of icy shards pelted the ground, splattering mud and water in all directions. And then all at once, things sped up again as the Meganium let out a hoarse cry, icy crystals clinging to her petals and a layer of frost covering the majority of her front. She whimpered and toppled over, the soggy ground trembling from the impact.

"I do believe they've bested us, my dear," Henry sighed, shielding his eyes from the rain with one hand, and recalling Maggie with the other.

"All right!" Keegan exclaimed, clenching his free a fist and pumping it into the air. "I knew we could do it! I just knew it!" Laughing, he spun his battle partner around and pulled her to him, wrapping his other arm around her. "We make a pretty good team, don't we?" he asked, closing his eyes and basking in the winning moment.

Althena gave a relieved sigh, and plopped down in the mud, rocking from side to side and enjoying the raindrops that fell onto her.
