Now down to just one Vic, his ship, an Acclamantor, and the Mandalia as reliable combatants, the remainder of the fighters buzzed in on the last of the Admiral's bombers, and blew them apart. BY the time his four cruisers were blasting at the other Wombat, the dogfight had been reduced to just Predators on each side.

Against the Wombat and Revenge, which were still fairly heavily intact, their odds weren't getting any better.

"Sir, we have contact with the Dxun Fleet!" the new first officer called over Drakel. "They'll be dropping in on the backside in 5....4....3...2..."

A blink later, and six more Canderouses, six Kedalbes, six other frigates of foreign design, and nearly a hundred corvettes and a dozen wings of fighters and bombers zoomed into the space at the Hector's Shield's rear. They were twenty kilometers away still, and the two ships under Borrill's command still had time to retreat if it hurried. Otherwise, in about three minutes, it was going to be blockaded into a slaughter house.

((Those ships have to be further out... and I can't retreat, we're fighting in the combined gravitational mass shadow of Dxun and Onderon. I can't retreat, and unless you start running to escape the gravity well neither can you))

Borill shook his head... The enemy had scored the last of his bombers... at least the last of those that hadn't returned to his hanger bay after the first volley. Those that remained, some 68 T-97s were quickly being loaded with a pure Mag-Pulse load... Another dirty little trick in Borill's bag.

The bombers weren't the only ship being loaded with mag-pulse rounds, the Hektor's Shield itself was the loading its tubes with the Mag-pulse derivates he'd managed to obtain. On his sensors the Dxun fleet dropped out of hyperspace... well out from being able to engage them. The gravity wells of Dxun and Onderon had insured that. It would take them several minutes to close to engage... several minutes in which Borill could maneuver.

Onboard one of the Canderous class frigates a Mandalorian named Ichi Maki plugged himself into ship's computer. Covered by his mandalorian allies the ship itself became one with him... It's sensors came online, its drive active and its weapon systems operational.

On most of the Canderouses the boarding teams had met with astounding success, the small crew size and sheer size of the boarding teams had assured them of a victory in a boarding operation, but the speed had been far swifter then first anticipated. Only on one vessel was it going slowly, the one ship that had Noghri onboard... That had been the wildcard. Already two more were begining to maneuver under the controls of the boarding teams... Thus equalizing the odds once more.

((EDSON will you post. The boarding operation has begun!))

Elladan took notice of the ships moving immediately. Whereas they shouldn't have been, he turned to Detre. "I might need you to go secure those ships. Think you can handle things?"

He smiled, showing sharp fangs, as he cracked his knuckles and drew his ultra-deadly assasin's knife. "It'll be like killing baby nerfs."

~

As Detre's shuttle full of a Noghri assault team headed for the first of the four ships, the sole Noghri'd ship finished off with the enemy boarding parties. The ship in particular, thus, suffered few damages.

"We've done our duty," the lead commando, Therin'vorkh, pr Therin as they called him.

"Good," He pointed to the other cruisers in the distance. "Load onto a shuttle, and go assist the one on the far right. If we don't take it out quick, our backside will be in trouble."

The two noghri nodded, and joined a boarding team of five Mandalorian commandos. Three minutes later, and two of the other three ships were boarded again, this time by Noghri assasins.

(If he doesn't hurry and come, I'd like you to take over his guy for the time being. I hope I don't have to kill your two guys though. You two might be able to take down one of the regular Noghri assasins, but if you run into Detre you might as well go insult Mandalore the Immortal)
PostPosted: Sat Oct 28, 2006 7:59 pm

((Even Detre can't survive in a vacuum... Oops there goes another NPC. You can't have that ship secured. Edson's Character is aboard and their squad...))

The Mandalorians and Stormtroopers that had secured the ships knew what to do the moment the enemy shuttle arrived. They cut life support, killing all the boarders by opening the entire ship to the vacuum of space. They were unharmed, saved by their sealed armor suits. The noghri had never been issued breath masks, the very reason that Thrawn himself never used them in boarding operations.

Borill smiled as the Noghri shuttle spun off the ship, out of control. He glanced at Kusei, "Alright, lets show these guy how a Canderous class is suppose to be used."

With a flash the Canderous's under the pro-loyalist and mandalorian controllers launched a volley of missiles. Within moments the Acclamator III and Victory IV were under a withering barrage. Their shield broke and failed leaving the controllers with two choices, flee or die.

After walking around the empty camp for awhile, Mossa stopped outside a battle circle. In it was a corpse with a charred face, and one arm. He grinned and spoke his native tounge once again.
"And now as the tides of war begin, destruction looms on the horizon's of fate. The dense fires of death that burn in the grassy fields of life will leave only barrenness. Time for the fire."
He dropped a dozen detonators on the corpse, and headed outside, where he safely pleased his macabre urges. He started heading for the ship, to look for chances to please the Empire.

(And the suddenly my ships were destroyed: the end. Nope.)

Already aware of their flaws, the Noghri crews never left the ships. In fact, they didn't empty into the hangar. They headed landed directly at the starboard side.

One of the other commandos was about to open the doors, when Detre stopped him. "Have you learned nothing? They've probably vaccummed the ship."

"How can you be sure?" he demanded.

"Because we're noghri," he countered. "We don't use field gear, including survival suits."

"No..." he cursed.

"However, there are alternatives." He hit his comlink. "Have the on-board team bring us survival suits small enough to fit Noghri."

~

As soon as the vaccuums were engaged, Mandalore the Conquerer's plan went into action. He had forseen the use of ram ships, and he intended on making sure the Noghri would go to the rescue. He also knew his enemies would be expecting just that, so he had the liberty of arranging commando teams with spar survival suits on board their ships. These units didn't attack the enemy commandos once they boarded, but instead waited for them to take control of the ship.

Therefore, once the Dar'manda effectively had control of the ship, Droma and his eleven Commandos piled out of their cargo bins and headed straight for where the Noghri shuttle had landed. When they arrived, Droma greeted the Noghri through his two-way comlink. "Welcome to the Vindicator."

The Noghri replied. "Put the suits into the cargo hold on the ship. We'll secure them on the otherside."

They did so, and five minutes later, Detre and his noghri companions stept into the vaccumized ship, looking quite ridiculous. "This does not befit a Noghri..." the commando from before stated disdainly.

Droma chuckled. "No, but it sure as hell keeps you alive."

The other Mandalorians laughed, and they proceeded for the bridge.

~

Suddenly overcome by an assault from their own ships, Elladan immediately order there ships to vear off, away from the battle, torwards one of Onderon's small defense platforms. They were still peppered a bit, but after some strenuous minutes, they successfully broke off.

"We can't engage them at this range, sir." Sven called. "We can hide, but if they want to flee, they have as good a shot as any."

The chiss nodded. "Let them flee. They can't reverse things, and it's only a matter of minutes before our two teams retake the ships."

"You do realize they won't be able to pilot the ships, with the crew mostly dead."

"Very aware. All I need is for them to get rid of the other commandos and stop the harrassment."

Link looked back towards the ship and then towards the ruffians.
"Nee ta ma duh tyen-shia suo-yo duh run doh gai si." He muttered as the two groups close. "This is why one never kills a Hutt."
Leida's eyes widdened. "They did what?!"
"They're about to involve an innocent third party with their overzealous actions. Then again, the Master always did say that this one was light on his feet..."
As Leida was about to ask him what he meant, he scooped the woman up in his arms and lept an impossibly high leap, jumping to the roof of one of the nearby port facility buildings.
Another leap and he cleared a high traffic street, the force giving flight to his jumps. With another jump he landed softly on the ground in an alley signifigantly removed from the fight that was about to spill out.
"Put me down, you space-case!" The Princess demanded as Link came back to earth.
"Not yet. Hold on." Link stated as Link suddenly accelerated, Jedi Dashing through the twisting alleys as the Princess screamed in alarm and fright.

((I'm going to win this thing EK... whether you like it or not.))

With the enemy ships pulling away and the starfighters that had been launched with them faced with the choice of continueing to fight or running the Hektor's Shield's Predators found that their foes had disappeared along with their motherships. Now free to target other objects the predators looked for and found the Noghri shuttles... They swooped in and scrapped the vessels from the ship's hull with stunning ease.

Borill nodded as the enemy ship's moved off, "Good, our shields are still at full, their first fleet is shattered, and the Canderous-class ships they'd brought to fight us with our under our control, each borded by a force equal to or twice the size of its original crew... ((Thats right there's over 200+ troops on each ship now. Each assault shuttle delivered a platoon of forty troops, and each rammship delivered 30 mandalorians)).

The Canderous class ships quickly formed up around the Hektor's Shield as it turned to face the second fleet.

Frowning Borill glanced at the comm officer, "Priority one transmission to Admiral Akla. Request additional forces for the Onderon Operation, we've defeated their first fleet but a second fleet has arrived."

The comm officer nodded then spun on her seat, "ETA thirty minutes for reinforcements."

Borill frowned, "Thirty minutes eh?" He sighed, "Reverse course, we'll give ground for time... In the meantime start shuttling additional troops to the Canderous-class ships. Lets make sure we keep them... and send some Zero-G Troops as well."

(wow, that many? might as well cut my losses.)

As things stood, they were losing, and badly now. Things were going from bad to worse, and the chiss watched in stark horror as the ships his Noghri landed on were blown apart. If they'd made it in...

~

Quickly as possible, Detre and his commands made their way through the ship, straight for the bridge, along the way setting mines and rigged thermal detonators. Once they reached the bridge, they poured in like a swarm.

Left with little time to engage and leave, the group immediately missled the bridge and anyone in their way, while the Noghri went abour killing everyone in sight with frightening coldness.

However, it soon became clear it was all for naught as more Mandals came to aid their dying comrades.

"We've done our duty. Get to their ships."

Fighting their way through, they made it to the enemy's own ramships. Four Mandal and a noghri died along the way, but they soon made it in and jettisoned. The other team did likewise, but had lost all but four mandalorians and one of the three Noghri.

As they zoomed off abourd the two ramships, bee-lining it for the Acclamantor, Droma pulled out his time-piece, and watched as the clock slowly ticked, until it reached zero. Moments later, the two boarded Canderouses became flaming martyrs, killing anyone else on board.

~

"Sir, in coming ramships!"

Elladan was about to order them to blast them apart, when he suddenly realized... "Hold fire! That's our men."

Sure enough, instead of ramming, the scarred ships landed in the hangar. A soon as they were aboard. "All ships, evac for Contruum. Dxun is lost."

The message was sent to the other fleet, regardless of who overheard it, and within ten minutes, they hyperspaced away...

"Ready to launch ma'am?" the officer asked Kalleen as she stood at the Canderous's bridge.

"Ready when the ion mines are ."

The captain nodded. Moments later, a huge bulk carrier appeared along the hyperspace lane, disabled by the mines as it screeched to a halt along with the frigate, corvettes, and fighters guarding it.

Kalleen nodded with satisfaction and turned on the comm unit. "Attention vessels. You are being raided by the Loyalist Empire. Your ships and vessels are hereby under our jurisdiction, and you will turn over to us immediately."

There was a pause before her comm officer replied. "They've sent out a distress call to the local blockade ships. They'll respond in the next few minutes."

She nodded, and took the five Force witches with her into the hangar bay to board the assault ship, while their small raiding band blew apart the ancient Correlian Corvettes and Nebulon B. Within moments, she and several boarding parties were landed inside the poorly manned, nd even worse-defended carrier.

Ten minutes later, Kathleen and her hundred or so Mandalorians had rounded up the few guards on board, while the Noghri and technicians spread throughout the ship, seizing all of the facilities and ordinances available. The bridge was taken with little fuss, save for a stubborn security droid that the witch quickly lightsabered.

"Bridge is secure," her lead commando called, as she finished hoarding the captives onto the few escape shuttles and launched them into space. "But we've got company."

Peering out one of the viewports, she spotted what reinforcements decided to show up: a pair of Wombats, a Nemesis, and a Stalwarth. "Evac when ready, Major. We're done here."

"Roger." There was a brief exchange of turbolasers between her Canderous and the other ships, but before there was any further response, the raiding party and carrier retreated to hyperspace, on route to Mandalore.

Borill watched the enemy forces begin jumping out. With a slight smile on his face he turned from the Tactical displays to Kusei, "They've given up... finally." With a sigh he turned to the hanger controlers, "launch recovery ships and prep a medical team in the hanger bay." He glanced at Kusei, "The ships should be completely secure within the hour... in the meantime lets go find your Mandalore."

Twelve minutes after Kenet's forces retreated, reinforcements from the sector fleet arrived in the forms of three Nemesises, a Stalwarth, two Interdictors, and several corvettes, plus a wing of starfighters and bombers.

"Real Admiral Borril, this is Commodore Joavil," a stiff, military voice replied. "Admiral Alka sends his greetings, but he was having an important holo-conference with Fleet Command regarding the situation. Are we late for the party?"

Mossa heard a huge explosion coming from the base he recently vacated. After a few screams of delight, he stopped to put 2 and 2 together.
"Okay...Explosions towards here...I'm here....Not grenades, but booming....AAAAHH!! WAR BEGINS!!"
He ran like crazy towards his ship, while his grenades dropped and exploded behind him.
When he arrived at the fighter, he opened the cockpit, where many explosives were crammed. While he prepared the ship for departure, something outside of the ship caught his eye. One of his explosions had uncovered a holovid deep in the ground,so he decided to go out and get it.
When he activated it, it looked like a large generator of sorts, but with no type of way a guy like Mossa could figure out what it was. Mossa got on the ship and departed, trying to find out what he would do next.

Borill smiled slightly as the transmission came in, "Afraid so, I suggest you return to base." With that he snapped off the pocket holocomm and sighed. He was standing on the surface of Dxun, looking down into the deep crater that had been the Mandalorian colonies. Beside him a pair of storm commandos stood, even they were affected by the scene that lay before them.

His losses had been substantial, but they were military personnel, down below there were children, women, mothers, daughters, fathers, and sons all looking for someone. The shattered remains of people lay scattered about, some intact, some mere parts. Kusei was clambering through the rubble, her head down, scanning the ground. Then she found him.

Wedge lay beneath a twisted hulk of metal. His body was battered, and from where he stood Borill couldn't tell if the boy was dead or alive. Slowly Kusei pulled off her helmet, and leaned over him. Borill saw her bright white hair that ended in dyed blue tips. Borill glanced around, "Medic!" Seeing that they were busy with other Borill frowned as he stumbled down the side of the crater. She turned, giving Borill his first look at the blue eyed women that had been hidden under the helmet. He saw the cybernetic implant on her temple and the hud over her eye.

Beside her the debris moved and a gloved hand emerged...
