"It's alright," Keegan told her reassuringly. "I kind of fell asleep, so I didn't really notice." He grinned sheepishly, and glanced at the egg. "Is it any closer to hatching?" he asked, reaching out to touch the shell gently. "It feels so warm," he mused, and leaned closer to have a listen. "I can hear it moving inside," he added after a second or two. "I don't think it will be long now." He studied her skeptical look for a moment or so. "What? Didn't I tell you I grew up in a family of Pokemon Breeders? I know a thing of two about eggs," he grinned, standing up again.

"I can't remember if you mentioned it or not," Kasiya replied, also patting the egg. "But I believe you." She smiled. "I can't wait to see what's inside," she added. "It's so exciting!" She looked around for a second or so, and then back to Keegan. "So what are we going to do next?" she asked him.

((Aww...alright. I suppose. domokun )) "Whatever you'd like to do next," Keegan responded truthfully. "I'll follow you anywhere, as long as that's alright with you." He wore a genuine smile, and at that point, Helios freed himself from his Pokeball, and nuzzled against both trainer's legs affectionately. "I think Helios agrees," he added, bending down to scoop up the Vulpix. Helios climbed up and made himself comfortable on Keegan's shoulder, his front paws dangling down over his chest and his hind legs resting freely against his back.

Kasiya smiled. "That's okay with me," she said softly, brushing her fingers gently across Helios' soft fur. Her thoughts went back to her friends, who were infiltrating Team Rocket and attempting to rescue Kilik. I hope you guys are okay, she thought, sighing. She wondered who Sabrina and Nina had managed to recruit for the mission, and she started to feel a bit guilty about turning them down so quickly. "What if they need me?" she said quietly to herself, her eyes studying the ground.

"Okay," Keegan said, worrying a little as she suddenly went very quiet. "What's wrong?" he asked, moving over and bending down so that he was looking up at her, and she down at him. "You can tell me if anything is bothering you," he added.
"Vul!" agreed Helios, flicking his tails around happily.

Kasiya chuckled at Keegan's antics. "Stand up, you look silly," she giggled. "It's just that..." she trailed off a bit, trying to think of the best way to explain it. "Remember those two girls we met in Goldenrod City? Well, a friend of theirs was taken by Team Rocket, and they wanted me to help them get him back. I told them I couldn't, and now I'm worried that they may be in danger and might need my help." The egg wriggled in her hands, more forcefully than before. Kasiya glanced down at it expectantly, but sighed a bit when it stopped.

"I see," Keegan said, also looking at the egg in anticipation. "I'm sure they understand. Not everybody would be willing to jump at the chance to be a hero. Not everyone is that fearless," he added, pausing for a moment or two. "Why don't you leave them a message on their Pokenavs? Maybe they can call you if they need your help," he said thoughtfully. "I bet it would lift their spirits knowing you'd changed your mind."

"Oh!" Kasiya cried. "I never even thought of that! You're so clever," she giggled, leaning forward and giving him a one-armed hug. "I'll do that right now. Can you hold the egg for a moment?" she asked, holding it out to him. She pulled out her PokeNav, her fingers moving over the buttons at a rather quick speed. She selected Nina's number, and opted for a email-type message.
Nina. I'm leaving you this message to say that if you need my help, give me a call and I'll come running. ~Kasiya She finished writing, and hit 'send'.
"There," she said, rubbing her hands together. "I feel better already. You'd better be ready to fly us there in a hurry," she said, pointing at Fang's Pokeball. It shook a little as if he were responding.

"Great," Keegan said, holding onto the egg as she wrote the message. "I bet that makes your friends feel better too," he added after she'd sent it. "Here ya go," he added, and handed the egg back to its rightful owner.

"Thank you," Kasiya said, accepting her egg. As it touched her hands again, it started to tremble and shake again. As she looked down at it, a large crack appeared near the top and traveled down towards the bottom. "It's hatching," she said, although no sound came out. She sank to her knees, placing the cracking egg on the ground in front of her. A few stray pieces of shell flaked off as the egg split in half, and sitting before her was a small, pale green Pokemon with small buds adorning its neck in a ring-like pattern, and a rather large, bright green leaf protruded from the top of its head. It opened its eyes, blinking, and looked around.
"Chika?" she asked, looking up at Kasiya curiously.
"A Chikorita!" Kasiya exclaimed. "I can't believe Erika gave me a Chikorita egg!"

"A what?" Keegan asked, looking at the newborn Pokemon. "I don't think I've ever even heard of this Pokemon before, let alone seen one." He smiled. "Sure is cute though," he added, watching the baby look curiously around its surroundings. "It's nice to meet you," he said gently, as Helios jumped down to have a closer look. The Vulpix sniffed the Chikorita his ears twitching with curiosity as well.

Kilik stood up from his bed, wincing a bit at his shoulder. Thoughts were swimming in his head. Nina...she betrayed me...and attacked me. He shut his eyes and wiped a tear away. The boy grabbed his shirt and slipped it on over his head. His jacket hung up on the door leading out. Grabbing it, Kilik took a step out of the room. Giovanni stood outside waiting.
"Good to see you awake," he handed Kilik a gleaming red R, "I noticed the one you had on your belt before was missing. Take this one." The man turned his back on Kilik and began to walk down the hallway, "Follow me, Kilik."
The boy clipped the beltbuckle on, and ran up to catch Giovanni. "What is it, sir?"
"I want you to see Team Rocket's glorious achievements," he said, "We of Team Rocket want to make Pokemon stronger. And we're willing to do anything to do so." He opened a door that needed a password, "The experiments we conduct on Pokemon are serious, Kilik."
Kilik noticed an Eevee in a battle. There were three Pokemon in front of it. A Charizard in the battle used a Flamethrower. In the blink of an eye, Eevee transformed into Flareon and fired a Flamethrower to collide with Charizard's. The Blastoise fired out a Hydro Pump. Much like before, Flareon transformed into a Vaporeon and dodged the attack. A Raichu bolted a Thunder attack at it. Vaporeon warped into a Jolteon, dodged the attack and tackled Raichu to the ground. "What...is that Eevee?" Kilik asked, seeing it turn back to normal.
"One of our prized experiments," Giovanni smiled, "That Eevee can transform into the Pokemon best suited to the attacks that are thrown at it." Giovanni continued down the hallway.

Chikorita nervously backed away from the Vulpix before her, and ran and hid behind Kasiya's leg.
"Aww, it's okay," she said, turning around and picking up the little grass Pokemon. "Helios won't hurt you, I promise," she said giving the little one a cuddle.
"Chika," she said, giving her new trainer a nuzzle.
"I hope we can become good friends," Kasiya said, catching the scent wafting from Chikorita's leaf. "Mmm, you smell like spices," she giggled. "So I think I'll call you Rosemary."
"Chika!" she cried happily, waving her leaf around in the air.

"Good name," Keegan nodded. "She seems to like you already," he commented. "So what now? Should we head out and find ourselves some supper?" he asked, once again picking up Helios who took up the position on Keegan's shoulder again. "I'm getting pretty hungry here."

Mag quickly got out of the train station. He looked at his map. To get to Pewter city he would need to go north through the Viridian Vorest. "Great. A forest full of bugs and other annoying things. At least it will be an adventure." Mag said with a sigh as he began heading North.
"Hey kid!" An elderly man said as he walked by. "You look like a trainer. Wanna learn how to catch a pokemon?" he asked as he dragged Mag over to the bushes to look for one.
