Indeed!
There's a reason why Tres purposefully avoided coming at me from the front, Ertai.
I avoided having Tres come from the front, because I guessed that Eric's damage dealing ability far outpaces Tres's, not necessarily because of some great difference in skill though, don't get me wrong, your one of the best hand to hand guys I know, certainly as good as me or anybody else.
It turns out my prediction was right, but even more so than I could have anticipated. Eric Suyaa had the ability not only to augment the destructive power of his attacks but he had the ability to deal sonic damage which is Tres's
main weakness. To have tried to stand in front of Eric Suyaa would have been foolish. In character, Tres is experienced when it comes to fighting unknowns and as stated in the first post, unknowns are the most dangerous enemy.
Tres was wise to not engage Eric Suyaa in the front, as he would have been decimated regardless of if I could have kept up in the hand to hand game. Only a fool runs head long into spears set against them.
Instead, I decided to use Tres's ability to maneuver and fzone to try and put Eric at a disadvantage to set up more advantageous attacks. The fight was close, but all things considered, I think I would have done better than I otherwise would have in a strictly competitive sense, than if i had just tried to stand in front of him and do what I usually do.
The fight was close I think, I don't know if I won or lost but considering the shitty match up for Tres where his stand up striking hand to hand advantage was neutralized by an equally as skilled opponent, and totally outclassed in damage dealing ability, I think Tres did well.
If Eric wins, I think the match up between Eric and Ertai would be very different. I haven't fought Ertai in years, but back in the day, where I was a better technical player than I am today, Ertai was...aggravating in his way but from a technical stand point, he was very good, certainly every bit as good as I was. He is doing well in his current fight and he did well in the HOH, so I would be willing to bet he is just as good now.
Ertai didn't load up his character with 4 to 5 weaknesses either, like I did. Ertai as a character is potent made to crush the opposition. He is just as versatile as Tres but a lot more power. Ertai made a character that is sturdy and he as a player does something I do, that I think comes at the chagrin of players who like to have their character speak whole sentences during fights.
He interrupts and unlike me, he isn't nice about it. He will play Ertai as efficiently as possible, especially when he is feeling threatened and knows he needs to watch his a**. I think Ertai will respect Eric and the guy playing him Slash, and I think Ertai will play hard.
I cannot definitvely Say Ertai will win, but I think it will be a tough match up. Ertai enjoys forward pressure, so does Eric Suyaa. They will likely clash in the middle of the ring and just blast the s**t out of each other.
Whatever happens, it will make a good fight.
