Is everyone ready? We're going to win." (10! Two critical successes in a row! Aeon is forced to skip his action, and Ephraim rolls with EXTREME advantage!)
Aeon didn't have nearly enough time to refill his lungs, and Ephraim's battle expertise was showing in full force as he dragged his unwilling body into overexerting itself. Aeon was quickly learning how a single mistake could lead to Ephraim regaining control and gaining a dominant lead--something Krul had seen firsthand many times. And like with so many others, the most common mistake was underestimating him. Aeon had incredible strength, but in this state, he had no way to use it. And even if he did, was he even strong enough to sever this hold? Was he even stronger than this "lowly" human? Ephraim's strength was incredible as well, and that made escape such a distant prospect.
Finally, Aeon's legs went limp, dropping to his knees, as it seemed his legs were overexerted to the point of no longer responding strongly. Ephraim lessened his hold at this point, as obviously it wasn't his intent to deal lasting damage. A moment later, he released him, causing the Reaper to crumble forward, barely able to brace himself on his hands and knees before the audience. Tilting his head slightly, Ephraim leaned down, hooking his arms around Aeon's own to bind them behind his back, and he used that hold to lift Aeon up, off the ground--just as Aeon had done to him in their previous two duels. A humiliating position, but not nearly as humiliating as what he had been forced to say. "...I don't intend to humiliate you to the same degree you did me after defeating me while I was hexed. But I expect you to do the bare minimum. ...You will tell me who the winner is, and you will tell them. Now." The authority in the king's voice as he gave his command was very fitting of a man who had led a military campaign in brutal conditions! (( OOC: ))

Aeon It was the very instant Ephraim's hold lessened--Aeon's skull jerked back suddenly to slam into his adversary's! Ephraim's mercy gave Aeon some chance to try to regain the lead, as he gasped sharply assuming he succeeded and Ephraim was forced to release him. Inhaling sharply to try to regain more oxygen, he turned quickly, delivering a punch to his foe's face with all the strength he could muster in his current state. Gasping again, he would then try to tackle him to the ground--quickly straddling him and attempting to start punching him in the face several times, both out of his frustration and anger, and to daze the king and make him vulnerable again! (( OOC: ))

Is everyone ready? We're going to win."Aeon managed to catch him by surprise with that headbutt, causing him to stumble back slightly. Still, with Aeon in such a condition, his moved were slow, wobbly. Predictable. The incoming punch was caught, rather than deflected. Ephraim caught his fist and applied crushing pressure, as he aimed a kick to Aeon's shin to put him on his knees, and had that succeeded, he'd deliver a knee to his face to put him on his back. He wasted little time, lowering and pressing his knee against Aeon's toned stomach, and leaning further down to press his forearm against his throat--intending to once again cut off his oxygen before he could fully recover.(( OOC: ))

AeonAeon was both irritated and unsurprised that his counterattack hadn't managed much--in his current state, especially against this guy, that would be asking a lot. And it irritated him even more to think like that. Ephraim catching his fist was more irritation, then he was put down to his knees, then down to his back. The moment his back hit the sand, his exhaustion REALLY caught up with him. He knew that... he had no chance if he didn't finish this NOW. Before Ephraim could lower towards him, Aeon threw out his arms, putting all his power into summoning five tendrils in a desperate attempt to bind all of Ephraim's limbs. Had that miraculously worked, Ephraim would be planted on his back in the sand beside him, and Aeon would force himself to roll over onto him with the last of his strength, straddling him and sinking his teeth into the king, intending to drain all his energy to render Ephraim helpless and restore his own power in the same fell swoop! (Aeon initiates a hail mary! Roll 1 20-sided die, and if it rolls 20, Aeon will defy the odds to claim victory! If it's any number other than 20, however, this desperate play fails, and Ephraim is left to claim victory... unless he rolls a 1, of course.)(( OOC: ))

Is everyone ready? We're going to win."...And at last, the final bits of Aeon's resistance left him, as he failed to muster his strength. It was clear that had no hope of victory. As he let out a defeated sigh, Ephraim paused a moment, before releasing him, and standing back up. He stood there for a moment, before finishing what Aeon had interrupted earlier. Ephraim leaned down, hooking his arms around Aeon's own to bind them behind his back, and he used that hold to lift Aeon up, off the ground--just as Aeon had done to him in their previous two duels. His defeat was being shown off to the crowd gathered, and worst of all, the princess he locked eyes with. His usually narrowed eye looked... much more defeated now. Broken. "...You... ugh... you defeated me..." He said quietly."Who defeated you?" Ephraim prompted in a threatening tone, his grip tightening."Agh! Ephraim! You... you defeated me! Ugh...""...Better. I expect you to use my name from now on." And like that, Aeon was dropped to crumble down into the sand. Ephraim flipped him to his back. "...I'm not usually the sort to do something like this, but I feel you deserve it." He said as he planted his foot on Aeon's chest, eliciting a defeated and slightly irritated grunt.(( OOC: ))
