Salazar nodded his head and thought it over. "No assistance. Mono y mono as they say. Oh, and try and keep up." He patted Edward hard on the face and started his ten paces backwards. He had noticed when Blithe came, but was selectively choosing to ignore her. Right now he had to concentrate.

Edward took his ten steps, turned, and took his defensive stance. "Nice to know we have spectators isn't it? Wouldn't it be embarrassing to lose to someone five times your age?"

Salazar turned and smiled. "Not as embarrassing as it would be to lose to a 25 year old." If there was one thing he took pride in, it was his skill for someone of his age. "Defensive? Interesting for a man who just had to save his call girl from a fire." That being said, he started a charge towards Edward, aiming with his right claw.

Edward parried with his left sword, giving him the inerta to spin around, and hit Salazar in the back of the head with the hilt of his right sword. "Come now boy, I know that you have more then that." Edward turned to face him, and started off his attack with a simple lunge, which he expected to be parried, or countered.

"If I am a boy then you must be a toddler." He shot back, dodging the attack with a backwards jump and then faked a charge. When he was close enough, he leaped into the air and swung up on a tree branch. "At least in terms of battle." Quickly, he sprung down, aiming both of his claws at Edward's chest.

Edward crossed his swords to catch his claws, and rolled back with Salazar coming at him, when the momentum brought him to his back he threw Salazar into a tree trunk back first. "It's elementary my dear watson. Try studying Physics every once in a while." Edward righted himself and took a stance.

<******** trees. Salazar thought to himself, knocking the daze out of his head. "Never payed much attention in Physics, but I did read a lot of Alexandre Dumas." Again he charged, but when he got into distance, he ducked into a roll and barreled into Edward's legs, knocking him off my feet. Quickly he stood and moved to strike him in the back.

Edward rolled to his left at the last possible second, taking a grazing wound to his side. "That's weird, I had you figured for Dante kinda guy." He slashed down at Salazar from his crouching position.

He darted out of the way and got nicked in the foot. "And you my Fernand de Morcef. It seems to fit, no?" moving forward, he ignored the pain his his foot and lunged down at Edward with both claws.

"Jim Butcher actually." He parried the claws once again with his right sword, and thrusted the tip right up against Salazars neck. "Give it Sal it isn't work dying here."

Salazar thought it over and moved back a few steps. "Hmm, well I suppose maybe I should give up." He started to loosen the straps on his claws now. "After all you are the superior swordsman." Both feel the the ground with a small rustle. "Of course, I did bring up Dumas for a reason." Giving a small couch, he began his speech. "Make no mistake: I should fight a duel for a trifle, an insult, a contradiction, a slap—and all the more merrily for knowing that, thanks to the skill I have acquired in all physical exercises and long experience of danger, I should be more or less certain of killing my opponent. Oh, yes, indeed, I should fight a duel for any of these things; but in return for a slow, deep, infinite, eternal pain, I should return as nearly as possible a pain equivalent to the one inflicted on me. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, as they say in the East, those men who are the elect of creation, and who have learnt to make a life of dreams and paradise a reality." Salazar smiled and kicked away his claws. "The answer here is simple, I'm just not trying hard enough." And with a maniacal laugh, which slowly turned to a howl, he started to transform into a dire wolf.

Edward sighed. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former."

Salazar scoffed, he wasn't taking it seriously. He would change that. Dashing at full speed, he flung into the air, and moved down on Edward, new natural claws at the ready to rip him apart when he landed.

If Salazar wanted to play hard ball so could Edward. Edward decided he was going to use his full potential. As Salazar came down on Edward, Edward wasn't there anymore. He appeared a split-second later to Salazar's side, and ran his blade along the side of the wolf's body. "You forget vampires don't have to play fair either."

Quick a a bolt, Salazar had grabbed Edward from where he stood and lifted him above his head. "Heh, Vampires are a weak race anyway." With full force, he flung Edward into the nearest tree.
