Well I know you probably don't want to use my character, but even so, I wouldn't mind one bit if you used my character.
Also I am going to rewrite my characters back story. It took a while but I figured out exactly what I wanted to do. The plot will stay the same, if anything it will just be a more in depth look at his up bringing.
EDIT: First post on page 100! WOOT!

To the untrained eye, Blackbird, some would think Arcadia was subtly hinting at something.
And Kai, would I be accurate in the assumption that this 'novel' of yours would essentially cover the first few chapters of BHotR? Or would it be some alternate plotline? And yes, I know that this is only in the very, very early planning stages (or even before the planning stages and is simply just a brainchild), the prospect of it just sparked my interest. For, as Blackbird put it, it would be interesting to see the characters from your point of view. (I love perspectives).

Yes, Straken, to the untrained eye. To the unfamiliar.

100 pages, and that's just OOC, not counting IC, The guild, and the characters thread (which is the largest single RP character thread in the SDRP). I'd say we've just about owned in the category of Longevity.
Also, I love how Arcadia is Leaving the hangar when her squadron just got put on stand-by XD
Also, I'm not entirely certain what I want to to If I write a novel. I have three ideas; rewrite it as is, just more coherently and from one character's perspective, rewrite it how my original plan had intended, or just rewrite everything using the same characters.

To quote Cadet: BHotR FTW.
And don't worry, Kai, I didn't forget. Just a quick walk to the mess hall and back. The progress with the transport has been slow enough that I'm sure I can pull it off with plenty to spare.

Wait, Kai, there was actually an original idea for BHotR? Personally I think the first and second idea for the proposed novel sounds cool, but option three could also a neat way to go, not to mention easiest, but with a little smoothing out of course.

So do most of us. Seems my idea of screwing posting cycles worked, and activity thrives!
Let's see what you guys cook up.

It would appear that I am, in fact, alive. Go figure.
And yeah, Kai, I generally find posting cycles rather constraining, so that's good news. Anyway, I can't wait to get that mounted Dross rifle up and running. *slavers* I think Gwath and I have developed an unhealthy emotional attachment to that weapon.
Also: a book on BHoTR? That sounds interesting.

I understand, it can get frustrating at times. The way I see it is that it's all the governments fault. I mean if they hadn't nationalized the Assassins guild and imposed all these "labor laws" and "equal employment laws" then you wouldn't have to go offshore to get a good Assassin.

Sorry for the absence, all. Computer time has been stringent, and I've admittedly dedicated the (comparably) little time I've had to stararmy. Now the update... CadetNewb I'm guessing today's crowd likes darker themes and stories. Look at today's games compared to the past's. How do we go from Mario, to Gears of War in about a decade? EDIT: Then again, the original Super Mario was rather violent. I mean, you have a fat Italian guy extinguishing the life out of another living being via jumping on them. xd My mom runs a creative writing contest for students in my town. She was showing me the stories that got submitted. They were either about family members dying, or Twilight-ish fanfics about a dead boyfriend stalking a girl. Sparkles and rainbows are officially dead. Except the ones that come off Edward Cullen(??!) Straken Lord Riverine Very good point there Blackbird. As you said, if you compare Garret's and Jack's stories, both of which are filled with traumatic events, to, for example, Steven's history (the worst part of which only had to do with a piss-balloon and smashing his head on the sidewalk) Wait, piss-balloon? I think I need to read this :'D Mr. Blackbird Lore Cadet: Unless I missed something, no one carries comm units; only data pads. A comm unit would be found as a peripheral upon a Marine's helmet or within the ship of a fighter pilot, but not on their person. It's a bajillion years in the future. Data pads are like iphones one steroids. They have EVERYTHING. Except a watch. Scouter Kai I'm pondering writing a Novel based on Battle Hymn of the Republic. Would you guys mind If I used your characters, mostly just the older more prevalent characters, Ie; Jack, Steven, Garret, and the like. If I actually do anything with it perhaps I'll share XD Word, but you must live up to the freakish persona I have created for him. :3 Corporal Smiles I understand, it can get frustrating at times. The way I see it is that it's all the governments fault. I mean if they hadn't nationalized the Assassins guild and imposed all these "labor laws" and "equal employment laws" then you wouldn't have to go offshore to get a good Assassin. Wait, what?
