Haldir nodded and started leading them towards the gates. They were close - it was just down the hall - but before they reached the door, Tinuviel joined them in the hall, a childish pout on her lips.
"You weren't going to leave without saying goodbye, were you?" she asked the three guests, walking next to them, hands clasped behind her back. Her green eyes, while still sparkling as brightly as ever, reflected a hint of hurt.

"We wouldn't mean to," Triton replied back dipomatically, "After all your uncle is expecting us at the gates... but we would like to say good bye. Though we should be back."
Afterall unless the Borderlands was closer to their point of exit they should be, he didn't even know how far they would have to go for this trip.

"If you want to say good bye, walk with us to the Gate and we can say later there," Donovan replied bluntly looking down, though only a bit.
He was tall, but he wasn't that tall, just tall by human standards.

Tinuviel raised one eyebrow at Donovan, a look she had learned from her great grandmother, and one that made her look older than her nine years.
"Ada-tol was not exaggerating your rudeness," she quipped; then she smiled. "But you're funny, so I don't care." She giggled, looking her age once more, then grinned at Triton.
"I have to go to my lessons now," she told him cheerfully, "so I can't come with you to the gate - I'll have to say goodbye to you now."
She waved to them all and grinned again. "Make sure you come back and see me again before you go back to your home!" she instructed them with a giggle, and headed down a hall towards the stair tower, skipping backwards and waving at them all the way.

Donovan waved back at her until she was out of sight, then he continued along with the others.
"Cute kid," he murmured.
Rude was a matter of opinion, but oh well, it was kind of funny it was a kid telling him that. Though the idea she was a kid was still a bit odd to him.

"You.. have a strange way of interacting with children," Triton told Donovan deadpanned.
How was it that children didn't mind Donovan? Maybe because Donovan didn't try to pretend, though that wasn't always a good thing. Well his younger siblings liked him well enough... even Feng.. well Feng liked everyone.

Yue simply shook his head keeping his eyes up to where he was going. Once they reached the Gate then they would be really on their way, he just hoped the trip woudl go smoothly. Nevemrind the fact he had never travelled with anyone other than his mother or brother.

Elrohir was waiting patiently for them, leaning against the gate. He was adjusting the bow on his back when they left the castle, and though the sleeves of his robes were rubbing against the rest of it, it made no noise.
"Ready?" he asked, his face expressionless as he gazed at the three.

Triton nodded, "We have everything, so we're good to go."
At least he mused they should be fine for the trip as a whole. He hoped so anyways.

"All right then," Elrohir nodded. He motioned to the guards who stood at each side of the gate, and they opened it to allow the four of them to pass through.
"I should probably warn you, the trip through the desert will take longer than it took you last time, Triton," he added as he started leading them down the path that led to the city. "Probably a day longer or so."

"I'm not surpirsed, I was told thel and was in the process of being a full desert, and the last time anyone from the family was here was probably well over a year, but that was in the Borderlands," Triton murmured.
It was hard to visit often, seeing as the amount of time that would end up passing.

Elrohir blinked. "Oh? I hadn't heard anything to that effect ... wait, Daeron did mention seeing Kara and Donovan that one time ... but that was ..."
He blinked again. "Several years ago."
And he'd said something about a cousin or something, but Elrohir hadn't paid any attention to that.

"I thought it was a week per year," Donovan replied back, "So maybe it was two or three years," he shrugged, "It's hard to keep a track of the time difference."
Especially on their end where time didn't really pass that quickly.

Triton nodded at what Donovan said, "That could be quite possible it was several years a go, no one has come here since Mother and Donovan..."
And well Miyu and Skye, but he wasn't going to say anything about that. It would bring up a lot of questions really.

"That was eight years ago, I think," Elrohir told Donovan thoughtfully, glancing at the smaller man. "Rather a long time."
He glanced at Triton. "Did you want to visit Aranhil again before going? Or save that for another visit? I know he liked you, and you, Yue, but I get the feeling you're in something of a rush to get going."
