Wow......

Alliance, I don't mean to trouble you, but it looks like it's not going to be much fun playing a hatchling. sweatdrop

Why? Because my character yelled at yours? I hope that's not the case -- if you make a character that's going to ******** things up, then be prepared for other characters to react accordingly. It's not personal.

No..... I've been told that I'm acting too smart for a hatchling. I don't know much about Gargoyles, but I figured if I'm 31 years old that means I'm like a 15 year old person, right? At least that's what I thought the first post said about the gargoyle biological process thingy. So I figure that a lot of 15 year olds are pretty sharp (I'm only 16, I know how a teenager thinks). But I guess I'm supposed to be more ignorant....

I dunno. I don't mind playing characters with no power, rank, or special abilities. But take away my intelligence, and I got nuthin'. I never chose to be a hatchling, I was simply told that's what I was. And I don't mean to be bitchy or anything, but I don't think I would have very much fun playing this role. I realize I already got involved, so I can't really just poof into nothingness or change my character into someone older.....

.... but I could run away or die or something. Heck, if Gendou needed to kidnap a gargoyle to experiment on in his lab, I'd be perfectly amenable to that.

EDIT: I just read your post, and I didn't find anything wrong with it at all. Hell, I knew I was going to be yelled at, so that doesn't bother me. I was expecting that..... I wasn't expecting to have to dumb down a character that I already dumbed down from what I originally thought this would be like. That last sentence probably made no sense, but whatever. I'm sorry. sweatdrop

Of course you can be smart. We expect that. But there's a line between being intelligent and knowing things your character would have no way of knowing. Like Gendou was human, for example.

I don't think we're asking you to be the "doy, I'm young and stupid" comic relief. Just that you tone down the insight.

If that's what you really want, Alliance and I can certainly arrange a reason for your character to leave that doesn't involve dying or some such thing. After all, we learned our lesson the hard way with Severn.

But make sure this is what you really want.

I'll think about it. I don't want to be a pain or anything, but I'm already in plenty of RPs that I'm enjoying, so I figure there's no reason to actively be in one that I may not enjoy. And this isn't the first time I've been told I have too much intuition, so I obviously need to back off anyway. 3nodding Besides, I don't know anything about gargoyles, so I should probably watch and learn before jumping into things. I'd only keep doing things I'm not supposed to be able to and have to change them.

Honestly, guys, the artist I commissioned is being troubled enough with the standard-fare ones. I'm going to have to ask people to pay for their own ones if they're going to be overly complex. Deo's was hitting the limit as it was.

No problem. I don't really need the eyes, scar, or double-digit hands/feet. Just thought it'd be cool. And I'd be willing to pay extra, but if it's more trouble than it's worth I can just re-tool the design to get rid of some of those features.

Katane, really, there's nothing wrong with the way you've been playing your character, aside from the 4th wall bending. All I ask is that you keep in mind that while teenagers are intelligent, you've only lived among gargoyles all your life, and have had little contact with humans. The only thing you really know about humans is what you've seen on television and out on patrols.

I'm not opposed to intelligence and insight. I'm only troubled by the out of character variety.

Also, as a totally not meant to be snippy sidenote, I only suggested the hatchling role and you happily agreed to it.

And please - and I cannot stress this enough - if you aren't sure about anything, ask me. I'll be MORE than happy to help you, or give suggestions. Or anything. You don't need to know very much about the world other than what I've posted in the first page of the RP thread, but if you need more details, or are confused by anything, tell me. I want this to be an enjoyable RP for everyone, not just the RP elites. But I also want there to be no problems on the details, to appease the elites, of which I am one.

So no, I'm not upset at all. Just keep what I've said in mind, 'kay? heart

And finally, please don't take what we call the Severn route. sweatdrop

Vryko, I'll submit your order to Lucca as it is, but if she has a problem with the details, I'll ask her to drop those that you suggested. 3nodding

Oh, and I just thought of a question!

Do gargoyles dream when they turn to stone?
