Before I talk about my views, I just want to say that I'm glad I finally found a place where people share my ideology.
Anyway, I believe that the view of Maxist communism would be a utopian society. However, until we can put the perfect man in power, the transition from socialism to communism cannot proceed smoothly. As such, democratic socialism is preferred in order to avoid placing one corrupt person in power while still attempting to reduce the wealthy elite's status in the nation.

No where in marxist or communist thought does it say we should just place a single man in power, but that is what sadly occured in Russia, Cuba, and Kimist Korea. Democratic socialism is essentially what marxism is (however members of the bourgeoisie are not allowed to vote or hold public office)

Basically, I think Socialism is a beautiful dream. In act it has only worked out as chaos but it is lovely, none the less. I really don't know too much of some of the other government types that I saw earlier on in the thread. But I am quite willing to broaden my view of the world. Now, all I need is a tour guide. mrgreen

Paranoid cat In act it has only worked out as chaos but it is lovely, none the less. If you look at the Nordic countries which practice Democratic Socialism, I would say it is working quite efficiently. And unsurprisingly, the citizens of those countries feel that they are generally happier than citizens of any other nations. I wonder why that is... And yes, I am aware that placing a single man in power is not specifically mentioned in Marxist beliefs. However, it's a lot easier for one person to give up power than a large group of people.

I've really just turned socialist; one of my friends recently gave me a very deep talk on socialism. I found myself liking the idea very much, as it seems like the ultimate solution to quite a few of society's problems. I'm really looking forward to my time here.

Alexander Krieger Male
My Ideology: Liberal Socialism (My own system)
Bassically a socialist society, which has small scale bourgeoisie. This means that it is allowed to own businesses, which employ up to 10 people.
Furthermore it is allowed to own property. No property taxes are paid untill the property value exceeds a given value.
The system must ensure free health, education, for everyone (college also for those, who are not as talented as others)
There must be these rights: Right to work Right to have a home (up to standarts)
Freedom of speech, religion, press and meetings
This must be discouraged: Unequality Religion Racism Discrimination Slavery
This must be encouraged: Equality Hard work (but not too hard work) College education A classless society solidarity peace democracy
