"Usually eat would be something in the garden weeds and tree nuts line, though I'd much prefer some meat if you have any." Imo's eyes were wide and almost glittering in anticipation. Good food could make this friendship worth the while all by itself.

Ugh. Suddenly he was itching right behind jawline. Cocking his head to the side, Imo lowered his head and used his front claws to scratch at the place as he waited impatiently for Yolanda to get down the stairs and show him the food. He really only needed to eat once or twice a day, but that didn't mean he never wanted to eat more than that.

Rubbing her head once she muttered momentarily before attempting to smile, but the light filtering through her fingers made her wince before digging into her belt pouch for a large hankercheif. Tying it over her eyes she finally gave a sigh of relief and put her arms down, grinning properly for the first time that morning.

Noticing for the first time that everyone was up and about she gave a small start and closed her covered eyes so that she could concentrate on hearing more.

"I slept well, it was waking up that was difficult.." Lashantha joked slightly, a smirk appearing on her face as she turned towards Imo. Chuckling she said..

"My friend, you must be hungry, I can hear your stomach from over here.."

Imo curled his head under to study his stomach intently for a second before replying back to Landa. "So does that mean you have really good hearing, that it's being really loud, or both?" Imo's tail moved out from where it had been curled across his feet as he moved to stand again; the fifth limb helped him balance as he stretched his head and neck towards the others, even going so far as to rest his front feet on the bottom stair. He was wondering vaguely about how Lasha managed to see what she was doing with a hankerchief over her eyes, but at the moment his hunger was much more demanding than the question was interesting.

Yolanda laughed and thought about it.

"Well, I don't have much in the house, right now, but there's a meat supplyer down the street. He should be able to help you. I'm sure that he wouldn't mind a few of your scales either." As she spoke, she noted that Lasha had covered her eyes with a cloth. It was to be expected, since she wasn't used to being on the surface, apparently.

"I have some bread in the kitchen. Care to join us, Ravenar?" she inquired, "Maybe you should take Lasha out and give her the tour of the Mages District." The words had a hidden meaning. He obviously wanted to talk to her. Alone, perhaps the tension would ease between them.

Turning her head slightly, Lashantha listened intently with a hint of a smile on her lips until she mentioned being alone with Ravenar. At that any trace of smile dissapeared and she began walking down the stairs, calling over her shoulder..

"Anything is better than week-old bread.."

She was a bit slower walking than when she could use her eyes, but having seen the place the night before had helped greatly. Reaching the bottom she stepped lightly around the dragon, giving him a scratch behind his ears before turning to 'face' the two still upstairs.

(Mind you, this is RAVENar, not VALENarr...)

Ravenar sighed. This couldn't have been any more blatant.

"I will accompany her, if that is alright with her, of course..." Ravenar said with a bow.

He turned to his friend, the female seer. He shook his head slightly, disagreeing. This was not the best way to go about things. Certainly they were safer here in the mage district, but he had been attacked here before, though the attack dispersed upon using his magic to shield himself.

Seeing that she was out of hearing distance, Ravenar whispered to Yolanda. "You know that she will not take kindly to me... I killed her brother!" His whisper was not harsh but urgent. "Around her, I fear for my life. Retribution is always a threat to me, now..." He sighed, ceasing his whisper.

"Is there anything you'd like me to get you, while we are out?" He asked Yolanda, audible to both Lasha and the female seer.

((Sorry...I forgot sweatdrop ))

Yolanda kept a calm composure.

"You shall fear no death here. Not while you have my protection," her voice was lowered enough for only him to hear. It was true. She never would have suggested it if it would have put him in danger. Looking upwards as if thinking, she replied in a louder voice.

"Yes, pick up some Bonga Root for me, please?" she replied, giving him a slight smile. The special root was usually one used in a spell of forgiveness. If one was to drink a tea made from the substance, they would immediately feel kindly towards anyone whom they laid eyes upon. The mage wasn't suggesting that he use the root, only that he should not be afraid of the female drow.

"Call me if you need me," she whispered, slipping something into his hands, "You know how." It was a dark blue stone, worn to smoothness around the edges. She assumed that he knew how to communicate with it, seeing as she was the one who had taught him that.

"I have some work to do here," she said again, her voice raised slightly higher so that all of them could hear. Her preference was that they sort out the conflict between themselves.

"Of course." Ravenar said with a nod to her request. "And I trust you, you know that... but I do not trust many others..." He whispered to her.

He took the stone in hand, knowing how to use it. "Thank you." He nodded. He descended the stairs. "I suppose we should get going, Miss Lasha, if you do not mind me calling you that..." He added.

His thoughts were in chaos. He knew the depths of his own and Yolanda's magics, though he figured a swift stab in the back would take care of most anyone. He hoped he would prove to be more... resilient, but he had known that he did not take well to injury.

He would need to get his staff, of course, to do all of this bloody walking. He had left it at his home, and sadly, he had placed a magical field upon it long ago, so that it could not be affected by spells. Sadly, this meant he couldn't magic it up, just as he could not with his dagger.

"We'll need to drop by my home first, I'll need my staff to do all of this walking... Sadly I seem to be... out of shape." He chuckled to Lasha, hoping that she would not take advantage of this later on. He still feared one thing and one thing only.

Retribution.

Hearing hushed words in the stairway above, they were obviously taking pains to make sure she did not hear them..

Turning to the direction of Ravenar's voice she tilted her head to one side a bit...

"Lashantha will suffice.." The drow replied, bowing her head in acknowledgement before waiting for him to start out ahead. She would need to hear him in front of her to be able to follow him outside, since she hadn't remembered coming to the mage's house.

Ravenar remembered, she had her eyes covered. "Very well, Lashantha." He said, pronouncing it flawlessly. "Come, just follow the sound of my robes, and you'll be fine. I do not walk exceptionally fast..." He chuckled at his own poor physical condition.

He opened the grand doors, stepping out, not walking very fast at all, in fact, taking his time, making sure Lashantha was following him. In about ten minutes, they were at his own squat, plain home. "Would you like to come inside? It is dark in there, and you should be able to see without much discomfort." He said, stepping into the windowless home, which was perfect for a Drow.

Imo had watched the exchange quietly from his position by the now-absent Lasha. He wasn't sure what had caused the tension between the two drow in the first place, but he certainly didn't blame his friend for doubting Ravenar. For some reason that drow unsettled Imo too...

"I'll just go talk to the meat guy, myself," he started into the silence, glancing back to Yolanda. His stomach seconded the motion. "Where exactly is the shop?" he inquired softly, tail twitching along the floor as his head cocked to the side in question. He didn't wish to be wandering about half the morning searching for something less than a few blocks away.

((GAH! The shortness gonk ))

Yolanda waved a quick farewell to Lasha and Ravenar before returning to Imo's question.

"Just down the street, to your left. You can't miss it," she smiled, taking hold of her staff, "It's called 'Roast Beast'. There's a picture of a dragon on the sign."

With that, she turned and began walking down the hall, behind the stairwell. If Ravenar really did get into some trouble, he could call and the mage would be by his side in a mere moment. However, she prayed that it wouldn't have to come to that. She did not want to hurt anyone, particularly not a friend.

Indeed, It wasn't hard for Lasha to follow the other drow at all, his foot-steps were fairly loud and uneven, as if he had a limp and his robes sure rustled enough. A bit surprised at how quickly they seemed to arrive, she said in a relieved sort of sigh when he spoke of going into his house, into the dark..

"Oh yes please.." She did not have her sword with her, only her dagger, she felt slightly naked without Shan'naal safely strapped to her back. But she felt she had to trust this place. Having kept her hood up the entire walk to keep people from seeing her out of habit, she was fairly relieved when he offered his home as a sort of refuge for her eyesight.

Ravenar pulled open the ebony door, stepping inside. "Come in, please. I wish to take a short rest here..." He said, walking inside. His leg had been agitating him more... it was his right one, the one he developed a limp in shortly after being attacked and 'recovering'. Apparently the spell did not heal the wound as it should have, and as such, he was stuck with the injury.

He looked around at the familiar brown walls of his simple home, which was not made of wood but of a primitive brick, a fairly low-income home, to say the least. Ravenar was slightly a miser. He loved all gems and jewelry, and was a jeweler himself, making rings and necklaces but often keeping them for himself, only giving certain jewels and such to special people... he still had to get around to making a trinket for Yolanda, for saving his life. He turned to her as they entered the den, the first room of the small home. "Please, have a seat, I'll be out shortly with Valbyl..." He told her, using the staff's name instead of simply saying 'my staff'.

He retreated to his study, and returned to the den with his staff, the ebony, magically-enchanted staff called Valbyl. It was nothing special, save for the fact that it could not catch on fire, it could not be held by anyone but him, and anyone that touched it or was struck by the staff was instantly constricted by the staff, which came to life suddenly like a snake, wrapping around the victim and becoming hard and tight quite quickly.

He sat down on a simple wooden chair, made of ebony, his favorite kind of wood. "I believe I need to rest my leg... Sorry, Lashantha, if I'm too slow for you..." He chuckled slightly. He rubbed his knee, the spot where it always hurt. He was not in the best physical condition at all... At least he was not like some mages, coughing and hacking up blood at the best of times...

Taking off the blind-fold once she had gotten into the house, she sat down as instructed and glanced curiously at the trinkets untill he had come back with a staff in hand.

"...What happened to your knee??" Lashantha asked curiously, black eyes looking at it as if trying to discern that question just by sight. The drow didn't mind staying here a bit longer, his place was facinating and dark, both qualities which were high in the female's favor at the moment.

Tension was still there, but that never ruled out hearing about this man.. She might not entirely have forgiven him, but she had read about him, been there when it happened... and knew it wasn't his fault. But that didn't stop her from having a small grudge against him.
