"Skylar, I swear! I didn't go alone. I met my partner for the chunin exams..." Skylar shook his head. "Irene, you're so impossible. Come inside." Skylar dissappeared into the room, and Irene looked over at Kankuro apologetically. "My brother. Stricter than any sensei."

Irene went into the room where her brother sat on his bed. His expression was still solemn, but a bit better. He sighed heavily at Irene's sheepish smile. "Irene, I know that running away from the waterfall village was a hard thing for you. and you don't even know why we did. I also know that life's miserable for you at the sand village. But please stop running off like that."
It was Irene's turn to give a grave expression. "Skylar, why am I not told anything?! You took me away without a word, I lost everything there... and now I can't even act like a normal kid in a place like this?! What is the big deal! It's like I don't know who I am!" Skylar responded. "Of course you know who you are..."
Irene interrupted. "Obviously not! Because something is being hidden from me! All the adults know, you know, if it's abot me why can't I know?!" Skylar looked truly angry, or scared now. "Because I promised not to tell!" Irene stood there shocked. He never raised his voice before to her. Skylar looked immediately like he regretted it.

Irene's shock went to anger, as she went to answer the door. Skylarloked down at the flor as he remained seated on the bed. Irene answered the door and saw Kankuro. "Oh." Her anger turned to embarassment. "Hey Kankuro, um... How much of that did you hear?"

Irene felt a hope lost. Like she knew he wouldn't like her at all now that he knew. "Oh... Well I guess the truth's out. I'm a freak of nature an I don't know why." Irene waited for a reply like, 'yeah, you are.' That's what most say. Some others liked to get a kick out of proving they could beat her in a fight. Some she guessed knew the mysterious part of her past, would even try to kill her.

"Yeah I know, I... Wait, what?" Irene's attention seemed to change, and Skylar inside looked a bit shocked as well. Though he didn't interfere. "You said you heard most of it. I'm a runaway, an outcast... I don't even remember anything about being really small. How could you still look at me as not a freak?" she didn't really want to change his mind or anything, she was just so shocked.
